I just terminated a relationship with Pet sitting by Denise due to what I would consider animal…read morecruelty. I should have left them when this happened the first time but it took me two times to learn my lesson. The sitter did not show up when supposed to and left both of my rescue pups to wallow in their feces and vomit. Both are house broken and one of them was able to hold it but the younger one could not. Our hearts were broken when we got home from work that day. We rescued them to remove them from these types of situations not put them back in them. I was a customer for over 9 months (4 times a week) and spent over $3000 with them. Assume nothing with them and use at your own risk, hopefully your pets will not be tortured as well. I usually don't do things like this, I just want to try to save the heartbreak for owners and potential poor treatment for your pets.

Can I give less than 1 star? I had to fire her mid-job and find a replacement while out of town. She threatened my dogs, called my parents (the emergency number) and was extremely rude and bossy to them, and then took her time returning the remainder of my money when I had to fire her mid-job and have someone else take over. I was half-way across the country at the time and worried sick. She charged my card in full before formally accepting the job, was rude, and her threats made our trip more torture than vacation. Use her at your own risk. Highly unprofessional.

I had originally hired another national pet service to care for my two cats while I was out of town…read morebecause I had used this service before and was thrilled! This time, my sitter did not show up on time, And texted me that she was running a few minutes late...That's fine, things happen! Two hours later, she still had not arrived, which is significant because one of my cats needs to have insulin at a very particular time. I am lucky I give her the shot at the appropriate time, and we left for our trip, for which we were now several hours behind. The Sitter said she would contact the company and get somebody else to cover for her for the rest of my trip. She never did it, so I called the company 30 minutes later, which was the grace period I gave her to take care of the problem. The company said that they would find somebody for the rest of the trip. They did not. I contacted Kelly's Pet Services, and they were on the job immediately! Todd S, one of the owners went to my house, himself, within a few minutes. He checked on both cats, and the diabetic cat hissed at him, which I expected. Because it was not the time of day for her injection, Todd checked on the cats and went back for my kitty's nighttime injection. Todd returned throughout my time away, and was successful in giving my Kitty her insulin injection and in feeding both kitties. Of course, he cleaned the litter box, and even brought my mail in! What amazed me even more was that when I got my invoice upon returning home, the charge was much, much less than the national company I had hired originally to care for my cats. Todd's communication skills were beyond the call of duty. He texted me continually, providing photographs of my diabetic Kitty and letting me know how both cats were doing. I will never use another pet service again! Kelly's Pet Services is the best! They came through for me and my sweet kitty when I was desperate! My cat would have died had not been there to help, as returning home from Louisiana to North Carolina would have been impossible to get there in time for her injection!

At that point, I had pretty reliably taught her to sit, stay, and come. What I really needed was on & off leash heel, lie down, and for her to do all of the aforementioned with distractions. I've had my dog since she was 7 weeks old, she is pure-bred pedigreed Labrador Retriever, sweet tempered and quite bright. No behavioral issues! When I came to pick her up after two weeks, she had learned NO additional skills! She would not heel or lie down, and would not come to me when distracted. I return her to the trainer, and expressed my disappointment, that my $3000 was essentially spent on dog sitting. She took my dog back for an another full week at no additional charge. Afterwards she told me that she received NOTHING from her boss for doing this (the franchise owner) and took my dog back simply because she did not want me to be dissatisfied. She made some progress in that final week, but we still have a loooong way to go. I do not fault the trainer! She did her best and took my dog on for an additional week for free. The company is a franchise. She shared with me that the owner is in Greenville, he is not even a dog trainer (she described him as a businessman), and she has never met him. She also shared that she JUST QUIT! Her issue was that 2 weeks is not enough time to train a dog to do all of this things that they advertise. Customers were regularly upset when their expectations weren't met. It takes at least 4-5 weeks to accomplish good on-leash results, let alone off leash. I feel like "Off-Leash" over promised knowing that they would likely underperform. The franchisee relies on internet marketing, and a slick phone call/email/text sales pitch. Perhaps the other training service are good, because the trainer that I met seemed excellent - but with the 2 week board and train, the trainers are set up to fail. I wouldn't call it a "scam" but from my experience, and that of others I have talked with since then, you are VERY unlikely to be satisfied. There are other operations right here in Lexington that will do board and train for 4-5 weeks, charge about the same, and not make any "off leash promises". That seems much more realistic and honest. Buyer beware!!!
