Dr. Robinson is the best vet in Columbia and I will never go to anyone else. He has taken good care of all of my animals.

To be clear I left Griffin Animal Hospital over a year ago and could not be happier to have done…read moreso. I am writing this review now because I went to my new vet(Cat Clinic) the other day and had a wonderful, easy, affordable experience, and it made me write this review. First issue is the never ending "required tests" stool tests, bloodwork, and other things. They make you do them or at least made me every single time I came in regardless of the issue. This of course ran the bill up every single time to around $600-$700 dollars. Second issue was Dr. Griffins attitude. She couldn't be more abrasive if she tried and I always tried to be nice but I always got the feeling she seemed to feel like she was wasting her time talking to me. She was condescending and definitely didn't respect or care about my time. The final straw was when she said she tried to have me bring in another stool sample only two weeks after a prior visit just to get anxiety meds. It's literally 30% a scam to earn extra money. Lastly for example the Cat Clinic for a yearly check up was only $250 with two vaccines, Flea Meds for 2 cats, and anxiety meds. Which is the primary reason for writing this as I do feel I have been overcharged by Griffin for years. The Cat Clinic has never asked for a stool sample and they ask if I'd like to bloodwork which they don't recommend unless there's a concern. Goodluck with Griffin Animal Hospital if you don't believe me.

I was introduced to Griffin Animal Clinic when searching for a veterinarian dentist in Columbia…read more Although they were not my regular veterinarian, they went out of their way to connect me with a dentist who could safely remove my elderly dog's teeth. Took both of my 14 year old dogs to Dr. Griffin. She spent a lot of time with them. Explaining some needs of elderly dogs and even why some vaccines were not needed at their age. I was very impressed with Dr. Griffin and her staff, and feel that I can trust her with the future care of my aging, precious pets!

We boarded our dogs Oakley and Theo from July 19th-28th at Irmo Pet Retreat. We had used them…read morebefore and never had an issue but this is a big enough red flag that I wanted to share. When we dropped them off, Theo (our Labradoodle) had a cut on the end of his back from trying to crawl under our house and scraped it against the concrete. We weren't worried about it since we had been putting Neosporin on it and he couldn't reach it so it wasn't being messed with. The employee there mentioned they had a spray they could use on it and my husband said that would be fine to use it if they wanted. When we got back from our trip, Aaron went to go pick up the dogs. Once he got there, the employee said, "I don't want you to be shocked so I'll tell you now but...all the hair on Theo's back has fallen out." 1st problem: our dogs hair fell out...and we weren't contacted. Sure enough, his whole back was bare and there were some sore spots on his back that you could tell hurt him to touch. We took him to the vet, spent hundreds of dollars running tests and taking skin samples and trying to figure out what could've happened. All the vets and nurses were totally baffled and frustrated alongside us. The vet gave us a call later saying his bloodwork came back fine but the best they could all figure was that it was a chemical burn...they suggested maybe he rolled in cleaning products or something and I needed to figure out what products Irmo Pet Retreat uses. 2nd problem: Our dog lost all hair on his back and has sores from chemical burns...and we weren't contacted. I'll try to attach the screenshots of the email I sent to irmo pet retreat and their response and photos of Theo's poor back/sores. I'm honestly confused and just don't know how to proceed. It would be one thing if an accident happened and then they contacted us...but it's another thing that this happened in their care, and very alarming that they didn't contact us with his significant hair loss. He could've had several things wrong with him and definitely would've needed to be taken to the vet. SO. Seems very shady and anywho, we're pretty disappointed to say the least.

When I finally was back to my phone at 12:30, I text Danielle who is an employee and asked if we could reschedule for the evening drop off time which was indicated to be no issue when we toured the place. I never received a response. I did not text the Specialty Care number because the last time I did to cancel a reservation, they never saw it, and this prevented the spot from being filled. Also, they don't answer their phones, ever, so why would I? Around 5:30pm, I sent a final text as seen in this attachment and basically informed them that they had wasted my time and I had to make new arrangements. Once I received the inappropriate response from Danielle, I decided to send all the screenshots to the specialty care line in hopes Leslie would see them. She called me the next day and proceeded to gas light me into believing this was my fault somehow continuously asking me why did I not call her? Because no one ever answers the phone and it's not my job to chase around the staff when her employee is a representative of the business and should have been able to handle the request. And if she couldn't, then send me to who could. Leslie is not a nice person when you try to give constructive feedback as any normal, reasonable person would do. They wasted my time, caused me distress with having to rearrange boarding and I would urge folks to rethink using this place. I was polite and patient with Leslie but she became aggressive in her tone when I told her this place was not a good fit for us and there wasn't anything g left to discuss. That wasn't good enough. She continued to repeat herself as if I was a toddler she was trying to scold so I just hung up. Very bazaar behavior. I think she was recording the conversation because there have been previous reviews that she likes to threaten to sue you if you tell the truth about the business practices.
