I told her the door was open so I walked in and I also told her it was 6:59am. She said well the lights are off. If you don't open till 7am keep the doors locked till then. I gave the guy my Info and he said well looks like your pickup is t till 7pm today. I told him no, I reserved it for 7am. The rude lady said that if a truck is not available it will switch it to 7pm. Which does not make any sense. It should automatically state not available for the time frame requested. The only truck they offered me was a truck that was way too big for what I needed which was hauling yard waste plus the truck was twice as much! This is the 2nd time I have been to this uhaul and did not get what I reserved.Last fall I requested a pickup but had to take the 25 foot uhaul which I took since I'm comfortable driving. I was not happy today and I let them know that I will no longer be using their services and will go elsewhere which I did. I was able to rent a truck at Mennards and it was much cheaper and I was treated right and not rudely spoken too. Customer service sucks! Do better!!!

They've so far only served to keep me out of my own locker. I hate them. I hate them so much. Guess what? They don't even have spares for it so if your keys get lost or fall off or anything you're SOL and they will not help you take it off. They gave us a lock that didn't even fuction to begin with. Their policy is frustrating and extremely inconvenient. Don't come here if you can help it.

I had two experiences in two days at this location and I wish I could rate them separately but I'll…read moreopt for rating the second one. The first experience would have received a 2 star review. I went in on Sunday morning (11/8/15) and the one guy working was not very helpful. They don't take personal checks so I tried doing debit over the phone and it wasn't working. I made a transfer at the bank thinking maybe there was a charge I hadn't planned on that made my balance too low. I came back in and interrupted the guy's personal call, he waited for the person on the other end to stop talking before telling them he had to help a customer. When the card still didn't work he shrugged and sent us on our way. The next day (11/9/15) I went back. Still had numerous issues with my card which resulted in me spending over 2 hours at the Penske location trying to get the truck rented. The guy working the front desk that day (wish I had his name) was really great and really knew his stuff. He informed me after the first attempt to run my card that MasterCard usually places transaction limits on their cards so I would have to call my bank and have them raise it. Finally!! Some information I could work with. So after two hours of going back and forth with my bank and the card still not working, he came up with a brilliant idea of splitting the amount into 3 transactions that were lower than the MasterCard limit and voila! It worked, and he saved the day as I was about 5 minutes from full on waterworks over this! In addition to his help resolving that situation, he also helped me with a discount I didn't know I qualified for, cut a little off the price for the dolly I rented, did a full walk around the truck with me to identify damage and show me the controls and features, and even gave me a handy tip to increase my gas mileage on the way. Best service I've gotten from anywhere in a long time and definitely the best service when it comes to previous truck rental experiences! The truck itself was very new (only 25,000 miles on it) and as comfortable as possible for a box truck. It was a little weird that the cruise wouldn't set if you were going over 70 but I can see the reasoning there and rarely did I want to go over 70 with the weather and all. I made it from Lansing, MI to Boise, ID in one piece without any issues!!! I'm truly thankful for the gentleman working the counter two weeks ago, he made my day and he really has no idea how much stress he relieved by helping me get this done. They weren't able to get the size truck I needed in that time frame, so they offered me a free upgrade to a slighter bigger size. They stayed opened slightly longer to accommodate me. Returned the truck after hours in Madison, WI - it was easy!

I'm pretty sure Budget truck rental is not all this place does, but it's at least one of the things…read morethey do. After being screwed over by U-Haul, I made a few calls to find a Budget truck. Waaaay better choice. They'd let me pick where I wanted to return it (U-Haul wanted it to be returned wherever THEY decided they needed a truck that day...). The guy at Offsite was extremely helpful in dealing with my chaotic situation. He didn't end up having the size truck I needed, but he called around to other locations as I sat in the office & found me one across town and put it on hold until I could get over there. Note: when doing truck rentals you may get better rates on-line (as there are on-line discounts only) or sometimes the individual dealers will cut you a break if you call them directly. Try both ways! BOTTOM LINE: Budget truck rental may be a little more expensive but you can select where you pick up and drop off the truck which makes it a WAY superior choice to U-Haul.

I made the reservations a month before my big move across the US. On the moving day, I was on a tight schedule as I had to arrive at my new home at a certain time. I arrived at the Budget rental place and the lady at the front desy told me that my truck is available, but the dolly that I needed to move my car across the country is not available...."I called to tell you about it yesterday..." Umm ok-so I make the reservation over a month ago and you call the day before to tell me that an important part of my moving sipplies is not available?? Does that make any sense? She kept repeating "but the truck is here"...ok so she got 50% of it, but what about the rest? I even tried speaking to a customer service rep and she was basically useless. It took her 20 mins to look up available car dollys within 100 mile radius and still could not "find" anything available. When I spoke with her again and I suggested she keeps looking, maybe try a larger radius, she said it would take her about 2 hours to get back to me. I was so upset I just told them to forget it and went to a nearby Uhaul instead (which, by the way, was much more helpful and a lot quicker at getting things done). So not only was Budget disorganized, unprofessional and indifferent to my needs, but when I called the customer service department later on and complained, they said "sorry" and that they couldn't do anything more for me. I asked to speak to a manager, but did not get anywhere. These people need a lesson in customer service if you ask me. If you're going to screw up a major thing like that, at least make it up to the customer-a "sorry" just doesn't cut it for me. Needless to say, if you want to avoid hastle and added stress when you're moving, do not reserve with this company.
