Been a bi-yearly customer of Jackson's since 2007. John and the rest of the staff have always treated me well. Prices are fair, and I can expect to find whatever obscure adapters or cables I need on the lead up to a big project. Always liked Jackson's selection of Peavey gear, particularly their XLR cables. Also had a couple guitars serviced in-store; was charged considerably less here than at GC, and it's far, far closer. read more

These people are INCREDIBLE. I have never seen better customer service at a music supply store. Our son is learning to play the guitar and he brought an old used guitar that someone had given him into this store to get some new strings. The store employee spent 20 minutes with him explaining the differences in all the strings and helping him to find what he wanted and what he needed. After we left, we discovered that a piece of his guitar had fallen off probably somewhere in the store. We went back to the store but no one could find the dropped part so they GAVE him a new part and even restrung his guitar for him for free. The guy talked to him the whole time about guitars and answered all his questions. The he proceeded to give him a free lesson on top of everything else. Will definitely shop here again. read more

The employees were condescending toward us and one male employee in particular asked me if I was "sure I could handle medium gauge strings" - I am a young woman musician and I'm used to being talked down to by older men but this was a new level. As someone who is extremely invested in the future of women in music, I would advise against parents of young girls with musical aspirations from shopping here!! Very unhappy with the service on a product exchange. Came into the store this morning and made a purchase very possibly a four-star transaction. They were very helpful the sales guy that helped us initially. But upon returning to the store to exchange after realizing that the wrong mic cord was purchased the customer service received from the manager was very inappropriate. The salesman that sold us the cord initially apologized that he assumed that we needed the cord that he sold us the first time. So he apologized and went back to get the manager to do the exchange. The manager was clearly disgusted with us because we wanted to exchange the cord that was only two dollars difference in price. We even said that he could keep the change. He was typing on the keyboard very hard and just looking at us and like he didn't want to be bothered and basically through the original receipt at us. Maybe he was having a bad day, he made a comment to the sales man about another customer in the store playing a guitar saying "why is he even here" The salesman said he didn't know. So maybe the manager is having a bad day.I don't know but don't take it out on your customers I surely will not be back. read more

This is as close as you can get to a full-service music store. Stop in the store on a Friday or Saturday and witness professional musicians preparing for weekend gigs. Come in early in the week and meet the guitar repair guy who shows up on Tuesdays. They stock instruments for the expert and the novice. read more

Takes forever just to get help from someone. I went in to get a guitar of mine fixed. The manager that helped me was awful. Tried telling me that the guitar doesn't play correctly either because of the way I play or my amp isn't good enough. Aside from that he didn't really listen to my problem, don't waste your money or time go to Sam ash. At least they are kind. read more

This place is great! I was a little sceptic when I first went in, because of the terrible reviews, but the first time I walked in I could really tell that they stepped up their game from earlier reviews. Every time I go there, no matter if there is 10 people or just 1 person, they ask you if you need any help finding anything and to tell them know if you need any help. Not only do they take time to ask you if you need anything, they are very good at small talk, making it almost impossible to have an awkward silence when checking out or getting help with something. Because of these little things, these guys has been my go to place for almost any instrument, and accessory! read more

Has just about anything you need and reasonable prices. BUT I haven't had a good experience with an employee. They were never "rude" but they are wayyyyy too over protective of everything in the store. I get they don't want kids playing around on their expensive instruments or people messing them up. But every time I pick up a guitar or strike a cymbal, I can feel them staring a hole through my head, or they will even ask you to put it away or stand right next to you to make sure you don't mess anything up. How am I supposed to make a decision of what I want? Especially if I'm about to throw down $200+ on something. Its been like this every time I go in there, and Ive been in there PLENTY of times for them to at least recognize me (no trust I guess). Oh yeah and not to mention on one occasion (my birthday) I had a little extra money so I went to buy a 18" A Series Zildjian cymbal and....... They drop the cymbal on the ground right in front of me at the register. I believe I deserve a little credibility especially after that. All in all, if you know exactly what you want or just need to grab some sticks or strings etc. its a pretty good store. I've previously bought 2-Fender Boxes for shipping guitars from Jackson's Music Store. The 1st time I went there for a box to fit a vintage Acoustic Guitar. The Associate who wears round glasses was somewhat rude & lacking personality. He treated me as if it were beneath him or a waste of his time to be dealing with me. The 2nd time I went to purchase a box for a smaller vintage electric guitar. Got pretty much the same response from Associate #1. Another Associate, stepped in and helped me narrow down exactly what I needed and told me if I were ever treated unfairly again to let him know. He had a slim build & dark hair. After this positive exchange I felt comfortable enough to return. Today, 9/10 I went there to purchase a box for a vintage Amplifier. I measured the amp but forgot the exact measurements before I arrived. I told Associate #1 I had a pretty good idea of the size. I pointed to a store amp which looked similar in size to mine. True to fashion, Associate #1 pulled out a tape measure and quickly told me how I was wrong & my measurements could not be accurate as if I was an idiot. Associate #2 intervenes and brings out thin box from back room. I told him that box seemed to light. He asked me a series of questions. I told him my amp was an Epiphone, it was old and very heavy -at least 14lbs.He asked if it had a tube. I told him I didn't play the Guitar and that it was old and very heavy. He pulled out several boxes that didn't work in my estimation. He asked if I could go home and measure it. I told him I wanted to ship it out today & I needed one which was thicker than his example. He later pulled out a Fender Box which was just the right size, the appropriate thickness etc. This entire process of finding the correct box took less than 7 minutes. Once we reached the register he proceeds to tell me that , "The next time I need to have the measurements" in a very ANGRY & RUDE MANNER. He said the box would be $10. I told him that I only paid $7 for each fender Guitar box previously. He said , That was Different"...but did not explain the difference. Then to my amazement He told me, "This IS NOT A BOX STORE". I told him it was obvious it was not a box store. He said, "Do you know how many amps Epiphone makes? I told him I could bring him business. He dismissed that notion. I guess I didn't look like the type to him to bring business to Jackson's Music. That's a ROOKIE mistake to try to judge a person based solely on appearance. He said, "Do you know how much that box would cost you at the UPS store? I told him I ship regularly at the UPS Store & was familiar with their prices and that they sometimes give me FREE boxes. He seemed filled with Anger & Rage. Maybe he was having a bad day?? Maybe he though I was an easy target to unload on??? I asked him why he was being so "Hard with me", he immediately said, "I did not say not to come back in the store". W-H-A-T????? This was UNBELIEVABLE. I'm an educated Bi-Racial Female. I never raised my voice, argued or presented any negative stereotypical jesters or remarks to this Associate. I resented this man's tone of voice and rudeness. My bother is a musician in another state. He referred me to this store. Some of his Musician friends frequent this store in Douglasville. However, I will never return or send any of my numerous relatives there to buy instruments, or accessories. I will spread the word to all of my friends & relatives of how RUDELY I was treated because I wasn't PERFECT and did not have the EXACT MEASUREMENTS before I set foot into their store. They sent me the message that I was not wanted or welcomed in their store.I felt Hurt and Unappreciated. How would this Associate like it if someone had talked to his WIFE OR DAUGHTER in that way? I just went in to buy a box & they made me feel like I was committing a crime.The entire staff there needs Sensitivity Training, Customer Service Training or better yet be fired if they can't contain their anger or personal hang-ups about various people from different cultures or backgrounds. I was thinking of buying 2 nephews their first band instruments at Jackson's. But after today I will NEVER set foot in that store. I will take my business elsewhere. Sam Ash Music Store will be my Music store of choice from now on. I will spread the word about my NEGATIVE experience to everyone I know. BUYERS BEWARE! WOMEN BEWARE! PEOPLE OF MINORITY ETHNIC GROUPS B-E-W-A-R-E !!!!These Guys are not warm & friendly. If you need instruments or accessories go somewhere else where you'll be treated with Respect. Try Sam Ash Music Store. They're excellent. If Jackson's doesn't want to sell boxes post a sign on the front door. If they are going to sell them have consistent prices & don't treat people like crap because they want to buy a box & not an overpriced Guitar. They should make you feel valued as a customer..not go out of their way to make you look STUPID if you don't have musical expertise. UNREAL!!!! read more
