Jimmy is incredibly knowledgeable in virtually all aspects of the instrument, from technique to theory to song composition, and he knows how to teach to keep you engaged and excited about what you're doing. As far as I can tell, he's able to teach at virtually any level of playing ability, from true beginner (learning how to hold the instrument and strum chords) to virtuoso level (Satriani, Buckethead, etc.). I had taken a break from playing for 5 years and after being inspired to start back up after watching a friend take a lesson from Jimmy, I found it took me only three lessons with Jimmy to eclipse my playing level from years prior, and it only got better from there. No matter if you're just a beginner, intermediate, or advanced, he can teach at all levels, all ages, and all styles. There's always something to learn. He's able to not just teach you how to play songs, but also teach you to understand what you're playing and why you're playing the notes/chords within a composition. He teaches context and reasons for playing techniques instead of just following a textbook- this makes the learning applicable across many different situations. Josh (owner) is very friendly and no pressure for sales. He's helpful, knowledgeable, and likewise multi-instrumental. I began looking at mandolins and he gave great advice in selection. He was then able to quickly secure what I was looking for, gave a totally competitive price, plus his professional, luthier set-up on its arrival. So glad to have this service nearby! Reconnecting with Jeanne Carere was perfect as she is one of the best flute teachers and performers in Atlanta. In my short time hanging out at Carere Music, I witnessed Jeanne demonstrate her great knowledge of the music business and deal with all sorts of situations with the utmost professionalism: selling and renting good quality musical instruments to eager students, young and old; taking in musical instruments for repairs; helping people find new owners for their musical instruments by selling them on consignment; teaching flute students of all ages, improving their playing on a daily basis. Jeanne obviously has a passion for teaching! After hearing Jeanne's incredible flute sound and impeccable sense of pitch on the piccolo it's no wonder she's first call for all sorts of high level concerts all over the Southeast. My mother played the flute/piccolo chair in the North Carolina Symphony, so I know a world class player when I hear one. A year ago I took them there and there was a month free for trial lessons so I took up singing lessons. Something that I have been wanting to do for 30 years. I love it. my 30 minutes of pure bliss every Thursday. The school is very well organised. They are very particular about the teachers. you will find very passionate professional teachers that have been doing this for a long time. The organisation is so good that it makes it one of the most reliable music schools in the area. Teachers won't change ( low turnover) and very well trained. Please take a look at the school and I swear you or your kids will get one of the best music educations here.

I learned of their services, available agreement options, and a trial offering program. With this in mind, I scheduled our first "trial" lesson. However, when we arrived, we were to discover that the administrator had neglected to schedule the appointment with the instructor. Worse, that instructor was not accepting students on our preferred day, despite our originally having been informed otherwise. With forgiveness and hope encouraged by the quality of the facility and its popularity, we scheduled an alternative instructor and, for a time, enjoyed lessons as scheduled and of great quality. However, several months later, our instructor chose to pursue other endeavors resulting in our transfer to yet another teacher. We remained committed and continued on. In the coming months, we were to be treated to multiple, same-day cancellations via text from our instructor. "Multiple" representing the majority, of which there were also a handful of others with no more than a day or two of notice. When this occurred, we agreed with our instructor to lengthen subsequent lessons by the time missed due to cancellation. However, there was never a clear accounting provided and management, despite the number of occurrences, chose to never contact us directly. After about six occurrences impacting our weekly lesson within a little over three months, the last without promised response concerning rescheduling received at all, we finally chose to cancel our agreement and provided the required 30-day written notice to do so. Management acknowledged our cancellation, informed us of a pro-rated amount yet to be billed, and offered lessons for other instruments; without expressed concern for cause or further effort to retain. We declined. If...you live within a mile or two of the school, are incredibly flexible with your schedule, have no concern for regularity, and have no need for enhanced services such as web-based student/teacher portals; the North Fulton School of Music may be for you. Alternatively, and unfortunately, you may wish to pursue your lessons via a JoyfulTunes application as we ended up doing. It capably demonstrates as much concern as that which we experienced.

I thought this was a musically positive shop I bought a guitar after the guy took another classical…read moreguitar I got from another shop that replaced that broke that my mom had given me and I had a gig to play. Well, the guy fixed me up well I got a real nice guitar he made a good deal on the trade in and I was good to go for my gig in a few days. I than thought so good about this I planned I giving this shop my business for everything musically moving ahead as I keep playing gigs and open mics so will need a lot of stuff down the road But that feeling soon changed Four months ago looked to take lessons for overall skill improvement so I pick out a teacher who fit the bill who I remember back a few years as I met him at a gig I could not get it booked so I waited kept calling back and talked to a lessons person and never got a call back who acted like I was a pain in asking about this Well this went on for months until a few weeks ago was told someone may drop so I finally called and was told that the teacher said he spoke to me back a ways and it would not be a match no a reason just a blow off after months waiting on this. A complete waste of four months of time as I could have found someone else and will look at some legal recourse for the lost time it cost me if just to make a point So I will never buy anything from this shop again if this is how they treat people. A full lack of respect all around Its a disrespect for the creative process by your store and the teacher I'm glad it happened as the good lord works in funny ways as a better teacher is out there, not one who may have skill but is too egotistical to respect others creative endeavors and this goes for your store as well no matter the level of someone I will not ever buy from this place for anything and will pass this on to those I know In teaching tennis to kids ( Who I show how to play not show off my play Got that hint ) ) and in the musical people I run into so you don't put someone else thought such a lack of basic manners Bill
