Excellent customer service. Large portions. The food was greasy and didn't taste good. We could not eat the food, we threw it away.

The place is located in a shopping plaza; not a lot of room (only about 5 or 6 tables); quite a few people came in to pick up orders. In any case, I ordered curry chicken and rice with collard greens (cooked in turkey), fried sweet plantains, and a cornbread muffin. My friend had "melt in your mouth" bbq ribs with potato salad and collard greens. The folks seated next to us, with whom we started a conversation, ordered pulled pork, collard greens, and potato salad and fried chicken, yams, and collard greens. We all enjoyed our meals, except I wasn't too crazy about the fried plantains - they were cooked a bit too "crispy" for me and they weren't "juicy." Note, the person at the cash register was very pleasant, super nice and accommodating. The only downfall was that several pesky flies were flying around, and we had to ensure they didn't land on our food! (Hopefully, they were only in the dining area). In any case, I plan to return to sample other items on the menu - the food was really good. Interestingly, there are photos on the wall of various "famous folks" who may have visited Roscoe's in the past (perhaps at a different location).

Friendly and helpful. I knew that I wanted the catfish but not sure of the sides. Tera went over every side for me. I settled on candid yams. As I waited for my catfish to be cooked, I looked over all the jersey memorabilia they had from various sports teams and fraternities. This place gets super busy I was told. Thursday nights they have karaoke starting at 5pm. My catfish order came out. It had buttery grilled toast as a side, topped with lettuce and tomatoes. I'm a southern girl, I only needed the Fish and bread. The fish was perfectly season. All I needed to add was some hot sauce. OH My Gosh- Delish As I say enjoying my meal, old school R&B was playing. I truly enjoyed the serenity of my dinner. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Albany GA in the near future.

The cooks, although I didn't get their names, my food was perfect, the pork chop, collard greens (bam)! I saw reviews about the french fry because they are cut and frozen. But the cooks knew how to season them perfectly. I don't know if it was the southern charm, or the southern hospitality of the staff, the DJ and the patrons, but we could not have picked a better place to celebrate this monumental quest. I'm so glad we made new friends. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Great customer service from start to finish. Didn't go past the front, just sat in take out area. No info on restrooms. We ordered to go. The wait for the food wasn't long at all. They inform you of items being cooked fresh and about how long it will take. My husband enjoyed his pork chop dinner. He says everything was to his liking. He didn't eat the ho-cake, as he is on keto. My meatloaf dinner; Not so much. The meat loaf was clearly cooked a while ago , so it was noticeably microwaved, or it may have been sitting under a heat lamp a bit too long. Made it tough, and dark. But the flavor was pretty good. So I imagine it'd be great when fresh. The mashed potatoes were boxed, but not bad. The black-eyed peas had no taste whatsoever; no onion or garlic, salt, pepper, etc. Same with the ho-cake, dry with no flavor. The cabbage-collards were really good. They don't cook any of their veggies/peas/beans with meat. That works for me, cause I don't eat pork. The red velvet looked questionable, but turned out to be delicious. I will be retuning to try other menu items. My meal wasn't perfect this time, but my husband enjoyed his. I say check them out. Good food AND great customer service in Albany are hard to find.

The foundation is still there with the rooms and decor but with lots of tables set up, similar to hosting a gathering at home. Not only that, everyone here was really friendly! We really felt welcomed, and though the second time, service wasn't as outstanding, it was still good. I think they really nailed down the vibe of southern hospitality. For drinks, they have seasonal cocktails, which I think is fun, but I'm not around at a time where I would be able to chill and drink. I end up with a go-to sweet tea. Strong and sweet, that it kept me up, but not the strongest nor sweetest I've had. There's also complimentary bread that's mini muffin shaped and dense like a biscuit. It's buttery and salty, but I like it! Before coming, I saw so many things about the sampler, so I definitely wanted to get it and try out. Love the fried green tomatoes with the honey mustard. It didn't feel oily, and it held up pretty well when cut and dipped into sauce. The pimento cheese here is probably the best I've ever had, but I will admit that I have not had many (I tend to not like it). In fact, both these items stay on my mind enough that I do think about coming here more often than I thought I would. And this is just for the apps. The rest of the entrees are pretty standard. Some better than others, but that's due to preference. I haven't gone through the whole menu, but I do prefer their chicken to some of the other menu items. For their sides, I haven't seen or heard of some of them. I asked about them, and they were described p well, enough for me to not want to try congealed salad. I'm not a big fan of jello type things, but I did try the pear salad. Not for me. Absolutely not for me. I did really enjoy the collard green soup and sweet potato souffle though! They were great, esp the souffle. It was my first time having nuts in them, and I loved it so much. Everything else was alright, like I'm sure you've had or can make better mac. Overall, I'm glad to know this place because it's a good rec for the area if you're in the mood for Southern food. It's not a bad pick for vegetarians either, though they would only have appetizers and sides to pick from, but I liked them more than the entrees. There's a parking lot, and it's in a good location to see the rest of downtown Perry too.
