Worst insurance company ever. Long story short: We had many errors with the amount they quoted,…read morenames, drivers license numbers etc. after all this was straightened, they raised our rates. We cancelled and were told we owed one more payment. Ok. It never drafted. We checked and due to an internal error months of payments had not been drafted. We didn't check the account since it was supposed to auto draft and were never sent notices that payments needed made. So Metlife's brilliant handling of the situation? A final notice to pay 300$ in the next 9 days or go to collections. No previous notices. No notification that an error occurred. Just straight to collections. We have clean credit and never miss payments, and offered to pay half now half later this month. (We aren't arguing that it's due, just the method in how they are handling their error. Yes, they admitted the error was on their end) But, Nope. All 300$ up front, and we have to mail it today because they won't accept a debit card since we're 'extremely past due' and told us a mailed payment can take 10 days to reflect on the account. They give us 9 days to pay, but it takes 10 to mail a check? Way to set us up for failure and screw up our credit, even if we pay EXTRA on top of this for expedited shipping it'll still get there too late. Terrible customer service. Terrible handling of their error. All around awful. Don't get insurance through them.
