Jade 3 is a very small place right on the corner in downtown. There is a parking lot just down the block for ease in grabbing a take away order. There a few tables that you can sit at if you'd prefer to eat there -- the outside doesn't appeal to me so I've never eaten in. Like all Chinese/Asian restaurants I've ordered from, the basics are all on the menu. However, the food always varies depending on something (the weather, the cook, how busy they are, etc). I don't know what the key is to consistently getting the same ingredients in the same dish. Sometimes I get carrots or mushrooms in a dish and other times it won't have the same vegetables. So I am not knocking Jade 3 for this because it's prevalent across the whole Chinese take away experience. The crab rangoon is fine. They are 8 or 16 to an order. I prefer it when they aren't fried to a dark crisp. The texture is good. I would say that it tends to be a little sweet tasting but otherwise fine. Chicken fingers are the same -- number and variation in crispy. Unfortunately the batter is fairly thick and it tends to hold a lot of the cooking oil. My most recent order the chicken fingers were so greasy that I couldn't eat half of them. If you order online or through DoorDash, you can get some adjustments to the meals. This is helpful since I can't have green peppers and that is a very common vegetable in many of the items. I ask them to hold it due to my allergy and they have always accommodated that request. Both chicken and beef dishes offer a decent amount of protein and are tender. None of the entrees come with rice, so be prepared to spend another $4.50-$7 to get plain white rice and more money for brown rice or anything else. (This is not a thing where I'm from originally so it's worth noting bc it took a bit for me to realize that nobody on the East Coast automatically considered rice as part of the entree dish/cost.) I would also recommend that Lo Mein. The noodles are good. Serving is a very full container and I can usually get a couple meals from it. They offer a small or large portion and the cost difference is only a few dollars but the volume difference is pretty substantial. I don't think you necessarily get a lot more meat in the larger portion but you certainly have more noodles and vegetables. Lastly, I would recommend the dumplings. The order is from the appetizer section and they come steamed or fried. I always get them steamed and enjoy the flavor of the meat filling. It comes with a slightly sweet sauce. They offer Coke products in the 20oz plastic bottles. Be sure to check the bag for these! The driver has been sent out without the beverages on a few occasions. That's frustrating for me and the driver who has had to go back to get the drinks. Jade 3 is the go-to spot for my basic Chinese food. They are very quick with the cooking, typically the delivery is very fast and I'm a happy customer. If I want something more exotic or I want sushi, I will order elsewhere. Otherwise it is Jade 3.... Fortune cookies are generally fine. Once in awhile you will get a stale batch. read more

In the immediate downtown Amesbury area, this is my favorite Chinese spot. It's not my first choice of food in the neighborhood, but if you're craving some Chinese cuisine, I recommend this spot. I'm a General Tso fan, so I usually just get that but my assosiate says he likes some of the other items on the menu. They have nice big windows so the light is nice during the cold winters. Jade is primarily a take-out shop, with some tables set around wide-screen TVs, if you feel like eating and watching a football game. The staff are all very friendly. But really, most people buying from Jade are taking it out. Try their Wonton soup, which Jade makes with MOUNTAINS of fresh vegetables and pork strips thrown in. The menu offers your typical Chinese options, but the while most places do not season their food correctly, add the right amount of spice, and leave it swimming in grease, you wont find any of these issues here. My favorite thing about this place is their fast. They do these specials that are really cheap, under 5 bucks, and you get a pile of pork fried rice with two sides, and its usually ready in about a minute. We recently moved to the area and tried Jade 3 for the first time tonight. The woman who took our phone order was courteous and efficient. She informed us that delivery would take 45 mimutes, which isn't unreasonable for a Friday night, and it was accurate. We ordered a soup (hot and sour - it was very sour and not overly gooey and thick), an appetizer (crab rangoon - very cream cheesy, no onion or scallion), and two entrées (sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice and moo shi vegetables). Everything was piping hot when it arrived and the portions were very generous for the price. We really liked everything - good flavors, not at all greasy, good white meat chicken. Best Chinese takeout around. If you go in you'll see that they're clearly setup for takeout, but there is some decent seating if you want to eat in. I can think of only once that my order was wrong (gave me beef instead of chicken) and I've eaten there a lot. Their chicken is white meat breast cuts (even the fingers), beef is cooked to be nice and tender, and their shrimp is fresh. Someone stated in their review about it being greasy, my solution to that is get sauce on side or light sauce and get some steamed vegs. Bonus star for delivery to me which is a town over. Was in the area for an event and we wanted something quick and cheap. Yelp led us here. I ordered the chicken chow mein/spare ribs with fried rice combo. The bf ordered the general tso/spare ribs with fried rice combo. For a Chinese takeout place, I think they do a great job - food wasn't bland by any means and portions were very fair. Parking can be tough as it's on the street parking only - located in a downtown type area with several shops and bars. We got lucky and found parking around the corner. Limited seating but enough for those interested in eating in, which we did. Service was prompt and food came out fairly quickly. For 2 dinners and 2 bottles of soda, it was about $20. I would recommend this place for a cheap dinner option for the night. We had enough leftovers from our two dinners for lunch for one the next day. =) read more

Should have read up on this place before visiting this afternoon. Well, I would have given it ZERO star if it was an option on Yelp. This place warrants a ZERO star is because of the rudeness of the lady behind the cash register. My goodness, I almost thought she was paying me to be here by the way I was treated. Honestly the food was good but what's making this 5 stars is the service that was given to us. We ordered delivery for the first time since moving to this area and although we messed up (unintentionally), the amazing man on the phone sent over what was missing without trouble or charge. On top of the amazing service we had already received the delivery man was by far one of the nicest gentlemen we have ever encountered. Parking is on the street, but the location is such that you usually would have no trouble finding a space nearby. Yes, once in a while it isn't so great, but when you get it about once a month odds are good that will happen. The best Chinese take-out in Amesbury. Food is consistently good. Service reasonably quick, coupons never expire. My only two knocks are inconsistent spiciness. I order all spicy dished "extra spicy". About a third of the time it's perfect, another third it's too mild and the last third it's blazing. Nasty. I brought a friend there who had just moved into town. It was our first time. We had a couple of lunch specials. The food was terrible, the Duck sauce was vinegary, and when my friend asked for some sweet and sour sauce to make the food more palatable, they told him it would cost an additional $1.50!
