China One Take Out Menu Cover

I guess this is a (mini?) chain, since I found one in NH via Yelp. This location is far back in the right side of the Port Plaza shopping center. A small 6 table shop, seemingly more popular for take out than for dining in, as they received several phone calls while we were deciding our order. Crab Rangoon - you can actually see the little pink crab bits in the cream cheese filling. They folded up the edges so that they looked like cute four cornered stars. Crispy and tasty. General Gau's chicken - recommended by the fellow ordering take out ahead of us. Known as General Tso's here. A good sized portion of fried chicken pieces drenched in red sauce with a few spears boiled broccoli on either side. Mongolian Beef - slices of beef stir fried with strips of green pepper, onion, scallions. Tender and tasty. Eggplant - I presume it was Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, since it is the only thing under the Vegetable menu with eggplant. Deep fried eggplant fries - moist on the inside. Different and interesting. Four people, with 3 1/2 people's appetite finished off the appetizer but only finished perhaps half of the other dishes and 2 1/2 of the 3 plates of rice that came with the entree dishes.

Perfectly cooked noodles and chicken, flavorful, simply delicious, Decor and ambience are beautiful. Friendly attentive service. Lots of off street parking. I had a delightful discussion with the chef, Nouk. Since I prepare Thai food myself, we had a lively discussion about making laab and papaya salad. If you love Thai food, run don't walk to Sanouks.. highly recommended. Having discovered it, I will dine at Nouks whenever I get the opportunity presents itself. Yum!

We all gos our drinks and placed our orders in and my daughter and mother in law got their food. Papaya salad and chicken skin. The chicken skin was amazing especially with the sauce. Really enjoyed the sticky rice which looks hard but isn't. I ordered the Pad Kra Pao with pork but Pho came in and I told them we didn't ordered that. Then an order of crab Rangoons came which we didn't order and we list let it sit on our table and about 10 min went by and we decided to eat it since I was getting hungry. I sat there for about an hour waiting for my food then the owner came out to show me what she wrote down and we crossed everything off that came then she said it would be coming out. Another 20 min pass and they deliver my food which was wrong again lol... I laughed it off because I know they're trying but I didn't send it back since I was getting hangry. All the food was great, they just need to get a better system from taking orders and getting those orders to the chef and brining the items to the correct table. To top it off, she gave us our recipe and that was all wrong as well. Like I said the food is amazing just getting what you ordered was the hard part. I hope to give this place a try but not sure yet.

Excellent Thai street food and dim sum at Bangkok Street Thai Kitchen in Portsmouth!…read more The inside is kept nice and cool during a hot summer's day with rather dim lighting, so doing my Yelp thing and shooting photos required two phones. One for light, and the other took the pictures...! I ordered the pork and shrimp shumai, which arrived with a nice soy based sauce, crispy garlic, and fresh cilantro. The wrappers were delicate and the filling well-seasoned. When I asked about egg fried rice with Lap Cheong (sweet Chinese sausage), the kitchen prepared it even though it is not listed on the menu. It turned out to be one of the best versions I have had, and my server Arisa mentioned it is also a favorite of hers and her husband's. The Pad Kee Mao with beef (Nua) was flavorful, with wide rice noodles, fresh basil, and vegetables cooked to the right texture. The added bamboo shoots aren't normally on that dish, but a welcome addition here. Arisa was an outstanding server. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and happy to talk about Thai food traditions and family memories. The conversation made the meal more enjoyable. The restaurant's story about its Thai-Chinese roots on Charoen Krung Road comes through in both the menu and the service. Everything I tried was delicious. Highly recommend a visit if you are looking for quality Thai food and dim sum in the Portsmouth area.

It arrived like a confident, no‑fuss plate: a glossy tangle of noodles threaded with plump shrimp…read moreand thin ribbons of chicken, bright slivers of carrot and cabbage, and a scatter of bean sprouts and crushed peanuts that promised texture before the first forkful. The sauce is a warm, soy‑brown sheen rather than a syrupy glaze, which tells you the cook favored balance over theatrics; the vegetables still hold color, the shrimp look springy not puckered, and the proteins sit in the mix instead of hiding under a puddle of sugar. That visual honesty is already half the meal. On the palate it's a study in contrasts handled with restraint. The noodles have a slight chew that says they were finished in the wok, not boiled to oblivion; the shrimp and chicken show quick sear marks and keep a clean, saline sweetness; and the bean sprouts and peanuts deliver the bright, brittle punctuation every good stir‑fry needs. The sauce leans savory with a modest sweetness and a faint tang -- I'd bet on rice vinegar or tamarind playing quietly behind soy and a touch of palm sugar -- and it's used sparingly so each component still reads on its own instead of being smothered. Technique is obvious without being showy: a hot pan for that wok‑kiss, timed addition of the sprouts to preserve snap, and a final toss that glosses rather than drowns the noodles; there's no greasy residue, which means oil was measured and the pan was properly hot. This avoids the usual sins: limp noodles, cloying sweetness, and rubbery shrimp. My one small gripe is a missing bright note at the finish; a thin shave of citrus or an extra hit of acid would have sharpened the edges and made the whole thing sing louder, but that's a tweak, not a correction. What I appreciated most was the humility of the execution: no unnecessary garnishes, no gimmicks trying to outshine the basics, just clear attention to temperature, timing, and texture. It's the kind of plate that makes you relax into the meal and then quietly judge the rest of the menu by whether the kitchen can keep this level of craft -- honest, balanced, and quietly excellent in a way that actually honors the technique behind it. If I'm looking for Thai in New Hampshire I would definitely come back here. They had a large menu of items that all looked really good!
