I never thought in a million years that I would write a negative review about Jade. It was news to me visiting from La Crosse, that Jade changed locations. Upon entering, I thought to myself, wow, this is huge! It was bright and vibrant, but also way too big for the type of restaurant it is. Reminds me of a mini Golden Corral, but there's a reason why Golden Corral was so big. Their buffet lined along the walls, and was U-shaped, and went from buffet counter to buffet counter. Jade has theirs in the middle. For the main buffet, and then the dessert bar is completely separate on the left side. We were way too far from the buffet, and it's also a lot for any older person to have to walk that far. The food was not impressive. Noodles were bright out fresh, but had 0 flavor! Even a little salt would help, but these were not the noodles I was used to. The coconut shrimp was hard and disgusting. Tasted nothing like Coconut Shrimp. The BBQ ribs were VERY tough to chew! The crab rangoon was nothing like I remember. Very bland and had a weird texture. The BEST item to me were the garlic green beans. Even what was my all-time favorite, the peanut butter chicken wasn't good at all. The buffet is wayyyyyy too expensive! Has no business being that high! If you're going to expect people to pay that price, then your quality shouldn't suffer, and should be top notch or worth the price! It's absolutely ridiculous to pay that much, when you're not offering me or any of the other consumers the same quality you had at the previous location! I can say that after this experience, and this being my go to place for yummy Asian food, has now come to a halt. We will no longer go to Jade. We will not go back until we hear things have changed. I'm clearly not the only one who feels this way. Pay attention to the other reviews. This was so upsetting to know a place that I looked forward to eating at when I get into town has suffered. The prices are very high, which didn't matter if the food tasted good the food tasted like iron, the sweet-and-sour chicken and the sesame chicken the sauce that comes on and with it. in my opinion, terrible. One of the two favorite items off the menu my family loves and we spent $73. The quantity of food portion amount was there. Service was cold and rude but I mean they're just getting you a drink and clearing your table. Chinese food was awful. Just completely awful flavors were off just sad. Went here on a Saturday afternoon around 5 and there were plenty of seats available. We were seated immediately in the corner of the restaurant in a booth which was nice. Lots of food options with 3 separate buffet sections (one for fruits/vegetables, one for sides, and main entrees at another). The general tsoas chicken was a little sour for my taste. The rice was also a little dry but it's important to remember buffets are for quantity of food not quality. Probably the most disappointing point of the experience was the lack of hospitality from staff members along with the ridiculous price of over $19 per person for the buffet which their website doesn't say anything about. Definitely not worth that price range but desperate times during a pandemic and recession can lead to stuff like this. From the outside, this place looks good! It serves a buffet which my husband loves! We jumped on the chance of finally eating here! The fun stopped at the door. I requested gluten free for my chicken cashew - my go to dish at a Chinese restaurant. That usually comes with a lovely light sauce, which has no soy sauce - a place where gluten hides. And what I got was a plate of gray chicken bits, celery, and cashews with no sauce. I asked the server...where's the sauce? You asked for gluten free. Yes, but where's the sauce? (We went round and round). The manager joined in and she was just loud/rude. It was disgusting! After 20 minutes, our server came out with a clear sauce for my dish. At that point, I was finished and not interested. While I appreciated the sauce It was too Little too late. My husband got the Buffet which he generally always likes at other places. This buffet, however, had bland tasting food that was served lukewarm. The food was subpar, and the service was poor to absolutely hostile with the manager insisting that was the only way to serve gluten-free . (It's not) I would not recommend eating here . I told the waiter and he said there was nothing he could do and the manager charged us full price for the buffet. She tried showing me their camera and said they were eating. Huge rip off! I ordered through Postmates and tell me why I get a call 10mins afterwards from two individual that said they have never done anything through Postmates and they didn't know how it works. I would not recommend this restaurant. Jade Garden in Eau Claire used to be a nice Chinese buffet restaurant. They seem to be under different management/ownership now. It sounded like the staff might have been speaking Tagalog (Filipino). The service was OK, but the food was terrible. We arrived at 5PM on a Friday and they were moderately busy. Their available entrees were more limited than in the past. No crab legs, sushi or sashimi. Not even American style fried potatoes like french-fries or cubed potatoes, or even onion rings. But the worst thing was the quality of the food. Many of the entrees tasted not fresh or old, as if we were being served left-overs. They had these stringy barbeque pork ribs(not sure what else to call them) that had the consistency of stale licorice and were like eating rubber. Ok we have been here several times and I honestly don't know why we go back. We went during lunch time close to dinner and you usually pay at the end totally get that. Dinner rolled around and they put seafood out and my husband went to serve himself as the waiter went over to him to the buffet as he was serving himself and said that will cost you extra. Needless to say we get it we pay at the end and they proceeded to stare at us as we ate to see who else chose the dinner seafood option. Just found it rude because it's not like we would not pay for what we consume for that is the reason we are there to begin with. I eat here 2 times a week typically and have enjoyed all the many entrees here. My favorites are the peanut butter chicken and the mall chicken. Me and my boyfriend ordered some takeout. We both got the "special" items off of their menu. Both Sweet n Sour chicken and General Tso's chicken were okay at best. I tried eating some hoping I would like, ended up only eating a couple of pieces... Tso's chicken was just mostly fat. Veggi fried rice was okay, and crab rangoons were great, no questions there. We paid $37 for two of us and I think that is overpriced considering the quality and taste of food. Not sure if I would ever come back there. We have ordered many times since the pandemic and every time the order has been prepared in the promised time and has been really good.

I've ordered from this restaurant for a few years with no trouble, but tonight (Christmas Eve 2018), I have only negative experiences to review. IF you order from this restaurant, please understand that the driver WILL take advantage of your cash payments/tips. IF you ever order online from Jade Garden, ALWAYS use a card & a preset tip for payment. I was just shorted $20 bc the driver claimed to either never received the full payment (details to follow), or to have LOST (yeah, you read that correctly) that $20. Jade Garden's food just is not THAT good--not good enough to take advantage of its customers & get away with it, and definitely not good enough to ever order again. To the delivery driver on 12/24/18 at ~4:50pm: shame on you & shame on you for STEALING money from a once-loyal customer like this. I do not intend to remain silent about this & will post this review everywhere that's relevant so no one else experiences this. You are not a convincing thief. Fool me once, that's the only opportunity you'll get to "fool me." You lose. read more

This is the most disappointing buffet in the area, in all honesty. I've never left Jade Palace thinking "now THAT was a really good idea." Which is such a shame, because back in the day they had out of this world cuisine. Over half of the buffet items are cold and taste like they have been sitting out all day. Some of the staple "Chinese buffet" foods are missing, and when they run out of certain foods, they don't refill it at a reasonable rate. I would just avoid this place in general. This is my favorite Chinese place in town --and the best located for my usual visits to Eau Claire. Most of the staff is super nice, but the German (?) lady who works the lunch shift --man, if looks could kill! She does not seem to like solo diners --and I am frequently eating alone. The food is solid and I generally enjoy their version of sushi, although a true lover would probably find it lacking. The chicken sushi is a must for those hesitant to try it and I like the fries Jade Garden Roll as well. I am not normally one to complain, but the service was so terrible here that I decided to come on yelp to warn others... My fiancé and I ordered a simple Chicken & Broccoli Lo-Mein + Shrimp.... It's an actual menu item and at the bottom of the menu it says you can add shrimp for $5 extra... So we did... Shouldn't be rocket science right? Well we were told 30-45mim for delivery, about an hour and 45min later the food arrived (cold of course) and we still tipped 40% We get it inside and there is literally ONE piece of shrimp.... Really? One piece of shrimp? That's the extra shrimp add-on? One piece? So I call the restaurant and explain to them the issue and they said no problem and that they would credit us $5 on our next order. Fine. Pissed but acceptable. Fast forward 30min (by this time it's 10:00pm) the cook at jade garden calls us to flat out tell me that I'm lieing and that he put the "multiple" pieces of shrimp in the meal himself! I'm like... Really? Your gonna call me at 10pm to tell me I'm lieing about a $5 add on of extra shrimp? He's like "well that's exactly what I'm doing, and your not getting your $5 credit" I was stunned. Never in my life have I had such a rude interaction with an employee. After approx. 10 more minutes of back and forth, he admitted that the delivery driver could have possibly went into the meal and eaten the extra shrimp pieces as they have had issues with that in the past. Needless to say I will NEVER eat at Jade Garden again, and I hope anyone reading this review would think twice about doing so as well! read more

Typical japanese buffet. Has ok food, usually sitting out for a while, if you see a new item come out fresh snag it up quick and you will enjoy the food. Price is little high for the quality, around $9.50 a person, they do have lunch specials though. Overall just another Asian buffet, nothing special to write home about. read more

Edible, affordable and when it's the only place that delivers and you're craving Chinese, it's works. The moo shu is the best thing I've had....other stuff is just not very flavorful (let alone authentic) - orange chicken is sweet and not at all spicy despite what the menu says. Dumplings are dense and gross. Crab rangoons had no discernible crab meat. Fried rice- meh. So ultimately, if you've gotta have Chinese, it might be your only delivery option (and you can order online which is nice). But I wish it were better. read more

DON'T come here after 7:30pm to eat the buffet. They don't REFILL anything after that time. I had my first plate of stuff that had been sitting there and drying out. I literally emptied four of the containers just so that they would refill them and nothing! I slowly ate the NASTY dried, hard, stale old lo mein and sweet and sour chicken and nothing! I sat there for about an hour and they remained EMPTY! OH yeah they kept my drink refilled.......but i didn't come here for the drink! I finally left at about 8:48pm and they still hadn't refilled any of the items i had completely emptied out! NEVER AGAIN! Plus i was charged $17.50 for a hard dinner dried out, stale, old buffet and a drink! I could've have gone elsewhere for $5 less and had a freshly made food and up kept buffet. Got a mango Smoothie and Pad Thai. If you focus really hard while drinking the smoothie you might get a little taste of mango but probably not. I've been going to this buffet for over a decade and love the food. However, the owners of the restaurant decided to change the prices from ($13-$14 per person) to Las Vegas buffet prices ($17-$18 per person) after the pandemic. I know they made a killing in take out orders so I know they're not hurting for cash. Just because you have a monopoly for buffets in town doesn't mean you should increase prices by 25% or 50%! It's obvious the owners of this restaurant clearly only care about the money and not the service they provide. If I'm going to pay $17/$18 for a buffet, I'd expect to have better quality food. Sadly it's the same quality with stupidly expensive prices. Price gouging is not the answer and the owners know it. If they start wondering why less and less people are showing up for dinner and start taking a massive loss in profits, maybe then will they realize that fleecing your most loyal customers is a bad idea. Sadly, I'm not holding my breath and I'd fully expect them to go out of business if this keeps up. They deserve it. read more

Really really good chinese food, there's also one in Madison. This one is great, my go-to chinese take-out/delivery. Plus when you order online, you can put in any specific needs, like allergies and "do not let this touch that". They also deliver to the UWEC campus, which is fantastic! read more

Every time I have ordered delivery, it has taken at least 30 minutes longer than the estimated 45-60, and to me, waiting 90 minutes for mediocre food is unacceptable. I have ordered delivery from here a few times and always got my favorite, General Tsos. I like it pretty spicy and after getting no kick from it the first few times I asked for it extra spicy expecting to maybe have over-done it. I got it and it was even less spicy then ever before.
