My husband and I chose Jade Studio because they were superb photographers, professional, and reliable. On your wedding day, you don't have much room for flaky vendors. Philippe and Soojin were our photographers and they were very professional: they arrived on-time, they maximized the use of our day until the very last minute of our contract (resulting in over 2,000 photos), and they took all of our requests for specific guest photos. My only complaint is that Soojin did not get any formal group photos with me and my bridesmaids until the very end of the day (after my dress became wine-stained, I had tossed my lovely bouquet, and the bridesmaids had misplaced their bouquets). Philippe took quite a large number of formal photos of my husband and his groomsmen very early on, all of which we absolutely loved. The wedding day is always hectic and busy, but I just wished Jade Studio spent some time on formal photos with the girls and less on boudoir photos (which was fun, but not very useful for us.) Despite this disappointment, we would still highly recommend Jade Studio to others. Jade Studio has a lot of experience with fashion photography and that's what distinguishes them from other wedding photographers. While most of their portfolio features good-looking people who are better looking than most models, our wedding photos were not as glamorous, but that was not their fault by any means. I had the most amazing experience with Phillipe and the Jade Production staff. I'm not a model just an average girl who wanted to capture this time in my life. I walked in nervous and self conscious about my body, insecurities raging and to my relief Phillipe and his staff put me to ease and made me feel so comfortable about the days photoshoot. After hair and makeup, we drove to his GORGEOUS studio in Treasure Island. We shot over 6-7 different sets but my favorite was the bouduir shoot. They capture natural images even you didn't even realize were happening. Pictures came out absolutely beautifully!!!!!!!!!!!! What's even better is they know how to use Photoshop! I want to give my review of Philippe's team from a commercial shoot perspective. I needed to find a photographer for a nationwide apparel company that could capture authentic moments and emotion for an ad campaign. This person needed to have a strong understanding of our strategy and how to turn this into a solid creative output. I give Philippe & team 5 stars in every category: 1) He worked with our budget and delivered on his promises in every detail of our negotiation. 2) He was extremely responsive in calls/meetings/emails prior to the shoot. 3) He over-delivered with a full team (lighting assistant, etc.). 4) He brought a sense of expertise and leadership, while listening to the client and delivering on direction/requests. 5) His team came on time and had amazing work ethic. 6) Although well-established in the wedding industry, I can say that he was able to apply his skills to a commercial shoot very well. Let me start off by stating that 5 stars does not do justice to Jade Studio Productions!!!! I had the honor of meeting the head honcho himself Mr. Philippe Lee at my dear cousin's East Indian wedding this past Labor Day weekend (2012). He and his crew were with us for the ENTIRE 4-day-in-a-row wedding extravaganza (or should I say Marathon?) and I must saw my entire family AND social circle was BEYOND IMPRESSED with Jade Studio's work! It was a complete pleasure to be around them all weekend long as their demeanor was not just jovial, warm, and welcoming but it was obvious to ALL that was observing them in action how EXTREMELY professional their style of command is... We took our 9 months old daughter for her first photo shoot to the Treasure Island location. The place is amazing, nothing like it in the Bay Area. It's like walking to a movie set, there are so many different background, props, colors, texture and lighting. These props are not the typical cheesy canvas background that they just pull down. They are actual set pieces like a movie set. Our daughter was amazed and happy to be there. And more importantly we got great photos. The natural sets and lighting made very vibrant, interesting and really captured our daughter's energy and personality. Everyone there was very nice and professional. They are very good at working with our daughter. Our pictures came out very unique and we highly recommend to everyone. This is so much more than the average photo studio, it is a memorable experience. Everyone should go there once to experience it! read more

Reposting this because Yelp took it off. Not sure why, but Jade deserves their 5-star review. Simply exquisite...probably the best way to sum up our experience with Jade Studios. We were so fortunate to have worked with Jade during our multi-day / multi-event Indian wedding in San Francisco. Having just gone through the process, we know that 5-star gushing reviews tend to lose some credibility, but we can't contain our enthusiasm. We highlight the most important things below but without a doubt would highly recommend Jade Studios. Photography: If you are looking for the highest-quality photography and have budgeted accordingly, Jade should be at the top of your list. From photography to editing, their creativity is second to none. My wife and I met via Facebook and the graphics team at Jade created an amazing "Facebook Themed" movie poster for our wedding that all of our guests still rave about. We got the raw pictures a week after the wedding and they're amazing (imagine what they'll look like when they're edited). The Jade team captured the color and culture of an Indian wedding while preserving our emotions and the beautiful architecture of City Hall. We also did a studio shoot and their facility on Treasure Island is incredible. SO many different "scenes" to choose from. Staff: The best part about the Jade team is that they make you feel extremely comfortable. Engagement and wedding photos require natural emotion, however often times my wife and I were anxious. Philippe and his wife Soojin just make you feel at ease and in love (you can totally understand why they are so happy together). They have the most calming voices and creative eyes. They truly captured our emotions and personalities in the photography (laughter, love, silliness). Coverage: There were 2-3 photographers at every event (sometimes 4 or 5) and we ended up with over 9500 photos. Not a single shot was missed and somehow they managed to get every important family member / friend. The best part about it was that we hardly noticed them throughout the events. Like every wedding, we were running behind schedule and the wedding party was all over the place but the Jade team managed to scramble alongside us ensuring that we got all the shots we needed / wanted (and they didn't even complain!) Album: We have yet to create our album (needed to take a break from wedding overload) but one of the main reasons we chose Jade were the albums. We just had our wedding this Valentine's Day at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco. I must say, without Jade Studio, it just wouldn't have been such a huge success. We had to plan our wedding in about a month's time. Even though we sort of had a photographer in mind, the minute we saw Jade Studio's art work and their photo albums at a wedding fair, both my hubby and I decided that this will be IT... On our wedding day, the whole team followed us from South Bay where my hubby had to 'prove himself' with the 'challenging' door games to East Bay where we had the traditional Chinese tea ceremony and all the way back to San Francisco at the hotel. They showed up with the most professionalism, dressed in black that completely impressed my whole guests. The most amazing thing, especially commented by most of my guests, is how they manage to work with each other move around the guests and snap the right photos at the right time. I definitely felt like a star that night!! Instead of the traditional 'powerpoint' slides showing how me and my hubby grew up from childhood, my hubby wanted to do a short film. When we discussed this with Phillipe and Kirk (the creative director) and Frederic (our cinematographer), everyone was so enthusiastic and excited about the project, contributing creative and interesting ideas. Amazingly, we managed to discuss, design, film, and edit the short film within a week's time!! We also had a cool poster to go with the movie. When we showed this at the wedding ceremony, it was an instant HIT!! Even I couldn't stop smiling and laughing when I watched it first time at the reception!! It definitely made the wedding most memorable. In fact, you can even see our poster designed for the wedding in the gallery of images above. It is the 44th image with the Matrix theme!! It has been such a pleasure and fun working with a team like Jade Studio Productions. Everyone is just so professional and passionate about their job. It truly shows in the work they produce. As a designer myself I'm a bit picky on who i choose to take my pictures. I've worked with many photographers and viewing the end result with Philippe... it was no doubt i would HAVE to go with him! One of the most wonderful experience i took from Jade studio shooting my photos was the crew, they were friendly and made sure all my basis was covered... i loved how all i had to do was to just show up. Though I'm comfortable working behind the camera but being in front of it is all whole new world I've never had to deal with. I joined Yelp just to be able to write about how great Jade Studio Productions was at our wedding! We had really high expectations of them, not only because we knew they were really good, but also because we knew our Persian wedding and ceremony would require a lot of attention to detail in the photos and video. Before we hired Philippe and his crew, we saw them at another wedding which was at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, CA, and I was actually more impressed with him and his team than the wedding itself! The way they conducted themselves was second to none. Everything from the manner in which they worked to even the clothes they wore (all black) was of the utmost class and professionalism. At the time that I saw them at this wedding at the Ritz Carlton I wasn't even engaged, but I was already thinking that if I were to get married I would definitely want them to capture all the moments. I couldn't have made a better decision! just look at some of the pictures from my wedding in my profile. After I got engaged my family and I met Philippe at Jade Studio and we were just blown away. The wedding videos that he showed us were like watching Hollywood productions, and the albums were incredibly beautiful. The albums that you get are like published works of art, no joke. They are nothing like what you've ever thought of a picture album to be, and they are completely custom made to your desire. And we were amazed to find out that eveyone who works there is happily married (including Philippe, whose wife Soojin does photography with him!). He said that way the people working during the event will know what emotions and feelings you are going through so they can better capture it on film. What foresight! Also, as I mentioned before, we had a Persian wedding and ceremony which has a lot of tradition and culture throughout. All of the decorations, music, layout, food, and everything in between has special meaning. All of this was captured beautifully by Philippe and his team. They spent so much time making sure to capture every last detail. We were even looking back at some of the pictures and didn't even realize some of that stuff was around in the room! On what will be the greatest (and busiest) day of your life, it was good to know that the Jade Studio team would photograph and film everything that we wouldn't get time to pay attention to ourselves. Our wedding was in the Imperial Ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. It is the biggest ballroom, plus we had the whole foyer, so there was a lot of ground to cover. And much to our delight they did a excellent job. Not only did they stay with us from 3:00 PM until 2:00 AM (!!!!!), they were constantly in every aspect of the event to make sure they didn't miss a single moment or memory. The great thing is that even our guests noticed the professionalism (much like I did when I saw them at the other wedding). Everyone keeps asking us about the photographers and videographers! And even when my dad was giving a speech during the wedding and thanked all of the incredible event planners and vendors that helped set it up, he made sure to call special attention to Jade Studio Productions for their great work. I'm surprised to see comments like the one from SK below regarding Jade Studio. Their team was so accommodating when we wanted to make the photo sessions into things that we really liked. To give you an example, my wife and I wanted to take pictures by the beach because we had a summer wedding, so Philippe drove all the way to the ocean with us, and even got in the water to take pictures of us running along the beach! I mean c'mon, that is dedication to your customer's satisfaction right there! Needless to say we were all soaked by the end of the shoot, but we were all smiles and laughs. Another example of how he accommodated us was when we asked if instead of photographing a dinner rehearsal (which is part of the package we signed up for), if we could have another photography session of our choosing. Philippe said yes without question. And everything went so well! As for Philippe making you do things you didn't want to do, my experience differed from that of SK. For example, my wife and I didn't want to be photographed kissing until we were married, so during our engagement sessions we told him that and he didn't ask us for anything. In fact, he would make sure to get our permission before doing any of the positions to make sure we were totally comfortable with what he was shooting. Well, all-in-all the Jade Studio production team is by far the most professional group of people that I've worked with. Their attention to detail and desire for perfection is so great and takes all the weight off your own shoulders and lets you enjoy whatever event you are having them photograph/film. I got married last year and people are still telling me how impressed they were with my photographer. Philippe and his crew at Jade Photography were awesome! I hate to give a negative review, but unfortunately we did not get good results with Jade Studios as our wedding photographer. Let me start by saying that we were really impressed with their work when we visited their studio so we booked them right away without looking at other photographers (*mistake #1) (FYI their basic "Jade" package was $6900). As the wedding process proceeded, we needed to cut our photography budget, so when we told Philippe ( the owner) that we wanted to downgrade, he basically told us that he could no longer guarantee that he or his wife (also a photographer) would be able to make it on our day. Fast forward ~9 month or so, I never arranged to go over a list of shots as most wedding magazines recommend (*mistake #2) because based on the amazing work I saw on their website and at their studio, I assumed that they knew all the great shots to take and they had worked at our venue before, so I wasn't worried. Both Philippe and his wife show up to our wedding along with a third photographer (I guess with the bad economy, they were not double booked on our wedding day). Great, the more the merrier. We started off with getting ready shots and a boudoir shoot. Some of the poses he had us do were a bit awkward and it ended up showing up that way in our photos so unfortunately I didn't like most of the boudoir shots. At the time, I didn't say anything because I wasn't a professional photographer; I assumed he knew what he was doing and that the pictures would turn out better than they actually did (*mistake #3). Next we headed out for some outdoor shots, and again I wrongly assumed that we would be taking shots of a very famous bridge in the background. But it never happened; we took lots of other nice photos, but we didn't get THE shot that I had been looking forward to. Again, I kick myself in the butt everyday because I do not have any photos of my husband and I with the bridge in the background and I didn't say anything about it (*mistake #4). We also provided meals for the Jade team during the dinner service, thinking it was the nice thing to do. Unfortunately that meant that we received a lack of photos of our guests during the meal service. Most importantly though, we had NO photos of our parents and elders who were sitting inside which was surprising given that the venue was very small and these were our PARENTS. I was sad not to be able to give my parents nice photos of the family at dinner. Again, this was something that I didn't tell Philippe (*mistake #5). Lastly, I wanted to comment that when we received our photos on a disk (we opted for untouched raw photos to reduce costs), which cost us $500 alone, we got 2 unprofessional-looking CDs with handwritten sharpie writing on it. Overall, if you decide to go with Jade, do not overlook the importance of telling them what you want! No matter how good a photographer, they are not mind readers and don't necessarily see the vision that you see. read more

I think you get the picture after reading all the other reviews. Jade Studio and Philippe are at the top in terms of professionalism and what they produce. Philippe and his staff shot our wedding this August 2008 in the Sir Francis Drake, SF and the results are just plain awesome. He was inventive with our wedding party shots taking us all around Union Square and Maiden Lane. He was also mindful to get us the traditional, timeless photos we wanted in addition. If you're looking for a photographer for your wedding, look no further. We can't wait to get our album as his offerings were heads and shoulders better than any of the many other photographers we interviewed. Bonus - Philippe is a maestro. WOW! Where do I start?!? Let me just begin with a WOW! Jade Studio Productions is by far THE BEST in the industry. They have been in numerous high end magazines and by far the most professional group I have ever encountered. Just recently, I got married on THE LUCKIEST DAY OF THE YEAR, August 8, 2008 (888). The most coveted day of the year and I was so lucky to have the best photographers AND videographers at my wedding. I was proposed to in 2006 and it took me 2 years to plan my dream, fairytale wedding. I was able to commission the best vendors in the industry. From the flowers, decor, venue, to the pictures, wedding favors and designers, my wedding was truly one of a kind that you could only dream of. My dream came true when I found the PERFECT WEDDING PLANNER who simply worked with the best! Morgan Doan, who is the absolute BEST, referred me to Jade Studio. She said that their pictures were absolutely breath-taking and that I should schedule a meeting with them. When I anxiously set up that meeting, I was thrilled and filled with anticipation. To my amazement, their studio was to die for! Spacious, wall-to-wall modern decor, a beautiful changing/makeup room and levels of state of the art equipment. Needless to say, I was quite impressed with the layout of the building and my then fiancé, who is now my husband, was really impressed with all the gadgets, cameras, computers and the viewing room. To put a long story short, we booked Jade Studio and couldn't wait for our engagement session, shooting of our Love Story and for the wedding. Fast forward to the wedding, it was quite marvelous! Over the top glam all the way! Our wedding was at the St. Regis in San Francisco, CA. Our wedding was also being filmed by Platinum Weddings. It was great to have such a fun and enthusiastic group of vendors and crew at the wedding. Philippe and his crew came on time. Very punctual to be exact. They went straight into business. Very personal, accommodating of the schedule and was very professional! I felt like a super model during a photoshoot. Everything was shot with extreme perfection. Frederic was so fun to work with! He was filming all the girls acting funny, so he definitely documented the best moments of the wedding. My wedding, I would have to say was very high end. We simply had the best of the best. Money and materialist things could not buy the happiness that I felt at my wedding. It was the people, the chemistry and the connection that all the vendors had that made my wedding so priceless! Philippe and his team really made my wedding very special. I had expected that they would be very professional and very good in what they do, but they have exceeded all my expectations. They have delivered me an exceptional "Love Story", beautiful images of the wedding, professionalism, expertise, character and most importantly; they have become good friends to my husband and me during the process of documenting my special day. It takes a lot for me to open up, to allow myself to be vulnerable and to let people in. Jade Studio took my feelings into consideration with the utmost respect. They allowed me to take in every moment of the wedding. They let me process my journey and they let me live as a "princesse" for a day and allowed me to come into terms of my destiny as I took one step closer into marrying the man of my dreams. Nothing can describe how content I am with Jade Studios. A picture is worth a thousand words, in my case, Jade Studio was able to capture my most personal moments and convey them in their art form. It's been 1 year since our wedding and I still think of it every day thanks to the beautiful pictures Philippe and his team took that hang on our walls. I even catch my husband stopping to look at the pictures as he walks by! It was awesome working with Jade Studios, and we're very happy with the beautiful images and moments they captured. We found JSP through Yelp and knew once meeting Philippe that he was our guy. However, we were very honest with him that his pricing was out or our budget. He worked with us to find an option that was within our price range. This included getting images on a CD instead of a book. This was fine for us because luckily my dad is a photographer and owns a photography lab, so we knew that my dad could color correct/photoshop/and print whichever images we liked. If you do this option, then I would definetly recommend having someone who can help you at least color correct and photoshop a little, as it makes a difference in the end result. Philippe could have done this for us, but there was a fee for his time. I think if he did, the images would have been even more amazing. My husband and I met in high school so we decided to go back to shoot the engagement session. This experience turned out to be more fun than we had thought it was going to be. We didn't feel that comfortable posing, but Philippe was great at giving us specific instructions and made us feel so comfortable. The engagement photos re-created the story of how we met. You can see that we were relaxed and ourselves in the pictures. I knew that we were in great hands for the wedding day. The wedding day came and Philippe arrived with his wife, Soojin, and 2 other photographers, so needless to say we had a ton of photos to choose from. They were timely and professional. Soojin shot my boudoir session and somehow she made me feel comfortable during the whole process. The pictures turned out elegant, beautiful, and classy. We went to Chrissy fields to take the group pictures, so we had beach, bridge, and grass pictures. On the way back to the venue, we drove through a woodsy area in the Presidio and Philippe yelled "Stop!" We got out of the cable car and he placed my husband and I in the light coming through the trees and got to work. This series of photos ended up being my favorite. He just has "the eye". Even my dad agreed that JSP did an amazing job! We got back to the venue and took family group pictures, which I'm very happy we did. It seemed hectic and unorganized, but somehow Philippe was able to get everyone together and get good pics of everyone smiling and eyes opened. Philippe knew what he was doing and managed the limited time we had well. Throughout the whole wedding, my husband and I felt carefree. Philippe and his team were totally unobtrusive. We didn't feel like we were being herded around as much as we notice other photographers do at other weddings we've been to. He knew when to provide direction and when to get that natural shot. We couldn't have been happier with Philippe and his team. He's more than just your average photographer. He tells a story through his photos and really cares about you and his work. where do we start.....Jade Studio has been nothing short of phenomenal in handling our Engagement/Wedding photography and videography. When we first met Philippe, we visited the studio in S.F. and immediately felt the uniqueness and artistry, which was what we were looking for. Although we did not really have a budget and the prices might seem higher than average, i could not put a value on the lasting lifetime memories created by the Jade team. The cliche "You get what you pay for " is entirely true when is comes to Jade. Their ideas, vision and exquisite quality are second to none. Before we made our final decision to hire Jade to do our wedding, we must have met with 3 or 4 different photographers. It was fairly easy making the choice after seeing the many beautiful samples in their showroom. All the final products are simply amazing!!! Kirk Fong was and is extremely helpful in the layout/design of our album and individual photos....he even did ours on short notice and they are perfect. My husband and I hired Philippe for our maternity shoot in September. I gave him some direction but mostly let him and his wife get their creative juices flowing. Our experience was simply amazing! We love how high fashion they made each picture. There were about 6 different sets that we used at his studio on Treasure Island. Both of them made my husband and I feel so comfortable with giving direction on different body and face positions. Plus, less than a week later, all the pictures (about 500) were sent my way. They hand picked 5 images to retouch and make in high resolution. We were able to pick an additional 5 images to have retouched and put in high resolution. The feedback from friends and family of the photos were so complimentary, that they asked for their information to get pricing and availability. Philippe and his team are amazing! I just finished a rockin' photo session at the new Treasure Island studio. The pictures were stunning and most importantly, we all had a blast! With this new studio, the photographers are able to capture the perfect shot because there are multiple scenes in a controlled environment and you don't have to deal with the fuss of bad weather, not enough light, too much light or even rain. Another plus is that I sometimes feel awkward posing for the camera, but Philippe knows exactly how to direct the poses and he knows how to make me feel comfortable. We came to Jade studios for the Style De Vie (formerly The Indulgence Lounge) event. It was a Luxury Lifestyle Event with The Luxe Residence! Jade Studios is located in Treasure Island Studios, and during the event, they had Ferrari Maserati of San Francisco there to represent the finest in vehicles that were parked on the driveways. We were in the VIP Lounge where they had complimentary tastings of Tequila by Los Osuna and a Martell Cognac tasting with Martell Cognac Brand Ambassador Antoine 'Jet' Duong. Prima Jiva designs had a great runway show with beautiful models. The best part was when they modeled with the Avatar theme. I used Jade Studio for my June wedding in 04. Back then, in 03, we were looking for something special and different for our engagement pictures and wedding pictures. Specifically we were looking for a "coffee table" wedding album and back then, those were not the norm. We spent many weeks reviewing and interviewing photographers around the bay area, some that came highly recommended and were well known around the area. Nothing felt right... . When my husband showed me Jade's website, I knew immediately they were IT. Once we met Philippe, it was confirmed. His style was everything we were looking for, spontaneous, stylish, clever, romantic, and captivating. His team was very professional and engaging. We felt at home right away. We booked Philippe and team for our wedding to take the pictures and videotape the event. We also made sure we were getting the coffee table album. Jade Studios is truly the best of the best! I joined yelp just to tell you how great they are - of course you should meet them for yourselves, but they have such a range that they are sure to be able to capture any moments and memories in a way you never thought possible! My husband and I just got married at the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay on August 30th. We were lucky enough to have both Soojin and Philippe at our wedding and they were amazing. We are not from the Bay Area and so we wanted to 'shop around' and actually meet many photographers before making this important decision. The Jade Studios staff made us feel welcome from day one, and were also completely professional. The decision was easy once we both met Philippe and Soojin. Not only are they great people, but they truly have a passion for what they do, which is evident in their work. You have to see their albums to understand, but as I said, we did do some shopping around and I can tell you nothing compares to the quality produced by Jade Studios. Not only are the photos amazing, but their creativity is carried throughout the process to make every page of the album spectacular and of such quality that I am confident the album will last a liftetime. As I said we chose the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay as the site for our wedding - both ceremony and reception. As this was quite an investment in itself, we wanted to be sure the beatuy of the venue was captured. Philippe and Soojin captured that as well as every other detail you could imagine! There were some times that my husband and I had to leave the wedding 'activities' but we got to see it all later because Philippe and Soojin captured it all on film:). We actually used Philippe and Co. for our wedding back in August 2004. We interviewed SO many photographers and knew that we had found the right one upon meeting with Phiippe in his studio in the city. The photography was the most important aspect of our wedding to us because we knew that would immortalize the day of our wedding, so we were very picky with who we chose. Philippe and his photographers' shooting style was exactly what we were looking for and to top it off, both he and his photographers (Andrew and Rose) were very cool and easy to deal with. It almost seemed as though we were talking with our friends rather than just another photography vendor. Needless to say we have not a single complaint about the photographs, the level of professionalism during the event or the level of customer service that we got before and after the wedding. The only thing we could possibly regret is that maybe we had the wedding too soon (shhh....don't tell my wife) because soon thereafter Philippe started to offer videography that is just as hip and cool as his photography. Oh, and we had a tough time choosing pictures for our albums and ended up letting it sit for a long time....but Philippe et al were super patient and understanding and we will actually be getting our album today!! Of all the thousands of decisions we made about our destination wedding in the Riviera Maya (Mexico), hiring Jade Studio was the best one by far. Having Jade as our photography team was much more than having an amazing group of talented artists - it really was like having two good friends capturing all the best moments of our special day. I was blown away the very first time I walked into Jade Studio - their website is a great place start, but once I met everyone in person and saw samples of their work, there was no doubt in my mind that these were the most talented wedding photographers we would encounter. We had our first engagement session in San Francisco and had a fabulous time! Who knew you could have so much fun getting your pictures taken as people gawk?!? They make you feel so comfortable in front of their cameras, and the pictures of course came out better than we could have expected. Then, we had Jade with us in Mexico for our special day. Every bit of the day was made more special having our two good buddies with us everywhere we went. They were able to capture all the emotions of the day as well as all the "little things" that made our day so special. In addition, they were extremely flexible in working around a difficult wedding venue - strong winds during the ceremony and very dim lighting in the reception site (it was a cave, after all). And the pictures still came out in the perfect artsy-emotional-beautiful blend! I have to say Jade exceeded all my expectations. A couple days later we had another "engagement" session. The Jade team went above and beyond to capture images of us at our destination resort (a very difficult place to work with - trust me) and to find the perfect deserted white sand beach to take our final set of photos. This alone was a major feat - EVERY beach in the Mayan Riviera is usually cluttered with bikini-clad tourists and beach umbrellas! The photos came out beautifully of course, but what was really amazing was their ability to capture the chemistry between us, while at the same time, making us feel perfectly natural and comfortable. I feel like I can't even say enough positive things about Jade Studio - every step of the way they have been accommodating, sensitive to our needs, and an absolute pleasure to work with. And their work...no words can do them justice...you just have to see it yourself - I promise you'll be moved by their images. As a 30th birthday present to myself, I decided that I wanted to do a boudoir/nude photo shoot. By luck, I found Jade Studio Productions through an internet search. From day one, Philippe was extremely courteous, responsive, and professional. Philippe really listened to what I wanted for my shoot, and also came up with other great ideas. As the day of the photoshoot drew near, I started feeling a bit nervous (as you can imagine!) On the day of my shoot, Philippe was the lead photographer along with Soojin, and another staff photographer. The three of them made me feel so comfortable the whole time; they were totally professional, encouraging, and there was absolutely no awkwardness whatsoever. Everything felt so natural; I had a blast and forgot I was a regular person because they honestly made me feel like a supermodel! In addtion, Philippe works with a make-up artist who does hair and make-up for photoshoots, Penny. Penny is awesome and did a great job making me look glamorous! The three of them were a great team but also each had their own unique ideas to add to the session. Philippe and his team have such a wide range of expertise; in addition to the boudoir/nude photos, we shot some other formal portraits and a traditional Korean dress shot. The result were amazing photos and some really creative shots that will be memorialized on my wall for a very very long time. I will surely come back to Jade for the 35th birthday shots! I was married in 2004 (yes a long time ago!) and I found Phillipe in a magazine. Back then, he worked out of his home and off I went with my mom to meet him. I had interviewed SEVERAL photographers and after meeting Phillipe and seeing his work, I was sold. Of course, as I have read reviews about people being put off by higher end prices, etc...my Chinese mother felt the same and immediately said "really? are you sure?" I ignored her and it was the BEST DECISION OF MY ENTIRE WEDDING!!! Even my husband who let's just say is very good with his money =) felt hiring Phillipe for our wedding was the BEST DECISION OF THE WEDDING. In this situation, you get what you pay for and wow...Phillipe and team did much more than just deliver. Okay, the day is supposed to be all about love and the commitment you are making to each other. Phillipe and team absolutely, 100% captured that. He made sure that EVERY shot was worthwhile and fun. I saw a negative review below and I completely disagree. I never gave Phillipe a list of shots and I never requested anything, and he delivered on ALL aspects of the wedding. I have every shot that I will ever need in my life. There was so much drama at my wedding, hair and makeup running late, groomsmen hungover and not showing up on time, my ear bleeding bc my earing for some reason wouldn't go in, the windiest day in the penninsula ever, and the list goes on. The entire time, Phillipe and team kept me happy, smiling and gorgeous. They made sure that I was having fun and kept reminding me it was my day...oh and let's not forget about the random man I was marrying (lol). Seriously, I had a fantastic experience and when I look back at my CD, DVD and my GORGEOUS album I am reminded of my perfect day. Even my husband (who would rather eat tuna out of a can for weeks on end to save money) said it was the best money spent and the memories are priceless in our mind. Furthermore, I have left the bay area and have made friends in all different parts of the country due to my husband's work and I have sent him clients in Seattle and Austin. The brides post - wedding have told me that Phillipe was the BEST part of their wedding and they could not be more pleased that they hired him and his team, and the product they delivered was more than outstanding. I have no qualms about referring Phillipe to future brides and I, like any other bride know that this is a one shot deal and you have to have a competent photographer to catch those special moments. You spend a lot of time, energy and money on a wedding and you want those memories captured. Finally, since I was married so long ago...a baby has come into my life and since i still have family in the bay area, Phillipe can bet that he will be seeing me again in the near future. I can't wait for him to photograph my baby and almost complete family. I don't trust anyone else to capture moments in my little baby's life except for Phillipe and team. One more thing...my mom ate her words in the end and also has the same feelings as I do and said "you were right - he is/was the best!" - no photographer compares to Jade Studio Productions! My only wish: I got married later when Phillipe had the video side and other bonus items he has now. I have to say Philippe and his team at Jade Studio is AMAZING!!! I started looking for a photographer over a year before my wedding date (May 26, 2012) and through lots of Internet research and referrals from friends and family Jade Studio Production was definitely on my top ten list. I have to say I first fell in love with JSP by browsing their website. After spending literally hours on looking through all the pictures and watching all the videos I knew I had to make an appointment to go see them. I showed my fiance their website and he agreed to go on the appointment. When we showed up to our appointment I was so impressed with everything from his mannerism, professionalism, attention to detail, his creative thoughts and ideas, his excitement for our day and how patient he was with us I knew instantly I wanted to work with him. My fiance of course made us look into other photographers and even though we saw some good ones we BOTH were in love with Philippe's work and we felt comfortable with him and that was also very important to us. We also knew that with all the money and stress you go through in planning a wedding, and knowing the day will be just a blur we wanted good pictures and video. If you have to cut corners on other things to pay for a good photographer I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! Trust me the day is the slowest yet fastest day of your life and after wards I can't tell you how good it feels to keep looking at your photos and loving it!!! We moved from location to location quickly with little lag time in between. He was able to get all his shots in and give us plenty of time to make sure all preparations were in place for the ceremony and reception. Everything went very smoothly and efficiently. I joined Yelp just to be able to write this review. I had the pleasure of being referred to Philippe Lee when I need a photographer for a business photo. My experience was completely positive. I had asked several professional friends for a recommendation and the vast majority would not even give me the name of their corporate photographer because they were so dissatisfied with the results. I only had one other person recommended to me and I was unable to get into them in a timely fashion. Philippe understood my time constraints and he and his staff accommodated me warmly. When I went to his studio, he took a lot of pictures very quickly. I was very impressed by how good so many of my choices were, since I do not consider myself photogenic. He was able to capture a great professional, yet warm business look. My one friend that had recommended her photographer was completely blown away! She could not believe how fabulous the pictures were. She said her photographer was not remotely in the same league. The pictures worked perfectly for my needs.
