Hot dogs with sauce and onions (considered 'everything' and I consider it 'perfect')
Payton M.

The sauce is the boss here. A hot dog with sauce and onions is the perfect execution of a red hot anywhere. Food is fresh, cashiers are friendly, prices are great. Onion rings are always crunchy with soft onions inside. Any of the flavors of French fry are delicious and always freshly cooked. Drive-up style parking, walk up and order, return to your car with the food, or there's some picnic table seating available too. Only open from end of February to end of September.

Italian Beef and cheese fries.

No trouble getting a table but the bar area was pretty full. Our server was fast and professional. She nailed everyone's drink and food orders with no issues. Food came out fast and hot as well. Tough to do with 10 people at a table. I ordered the Honey Glazed chicken. It was pretty good but the chicken had a few chewy spots. Flavor was great though. The glaze was sweet but not overpowering. 2nd night I ordered the Parmesan chicken. That chicken was great but o didn't care for the pasta it was served on. Flavor was good but just not my thing. Service was great both nights. Pricing is fair as well. Recommend if you're in the area and looking for something different than your typical nationwide chain.

Service was slow -- to non existent -- at best. We ordered two saganashkees that were bland, with little to no crust. The server said he has never served two at once before, so I guess we loose. I ordered the Poke. It too was bland and some of the tuna was hard!! Yes, hard!! The serving included a dollop of guacamole that had no business on the plate, in my opinion. Chunks of avocado, that I thought I was getting, fine, but not a traditional guacamole. Not good. Three of the four persons at our table ordered burgers and were all equally disappointing. It seemed like the burgers were diced up like it we to get used like in chili. But then, there tried to make a hamburger out of it!! Really weird. The taste was good, but unmanageable as a hamburger. One of the persons at our table ordered a shrimp appetizer. He said it was "ok". This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is quite comfortable and the beer is okay. But, that's all it has going for it. Our previous visit a few years ago was much more enjoyable. We see no reason to return.

Happy Sunday! Here at Ryan's Pier, my daughter and I enjoyed our first time here for lunch. Weather…read morewas beautiful with all the shine sun on this gorgeous Sunday. Topping at 89 degrees with a little breeze, it felt wonderful. A cute little lake view with a park for the kiddos. It was a decent place for any day outing. Just a nice view and something for everyone to enjoy their afternoon. Ryan's Pier had plenty of seating inside and out. A full bar with plenty of options. I ordered a margarita nothing too fancy but still really good. Menu was simple with burgers, wraps, quesadillas and a kiddos menu. A typical bar menu. Except Ryan's Pier was a total hit, and our new lunch time outing! Everything was really good! We ordered the kids cheese quesadilla, chicken wrap with onion petals and some homemade crab cakes. Everything was really delicious for our lunchtime and very much appeasing. Our entrees came out hot and ready! Didn't take no time! Our waitress and the staff were terrific! Nice smiles with great hospitality. The women were patient and pretty much laid back. Good service, nice view and great company is always a great time! Always my motto! Check em out!

Saturday (11:00am-9:00pm) and Sunday (12:00pm-8:00pm) MONDAY-THURSDAY (10:30am-8:30pm) FRIDAY (10:30am-9:00pm) The river is across the street (mostly gravel) from the restaurant. There's parking along the river side and more parking in the back of the restaurant. The restaurant is a bit tired but clean, bathrooms were spotless, but the woman's was a bit warm - I guess the AC doesn't reach the bathroom. 4 slot machines are right inside the door next to the bar (which is fairly large). There are 5 booths along the walls with about the same amount of tables. Another room in front with about 5 round tables too. Theres a large fire burning fireplace out in front with a few tables & chairs. Today there was a large tent out in front with a lot of tables and chairs. I had a Denver omelet (ham, onion, bell pepper) which looked to be about 2 eggs, hash browns and rye toast. The eggs were a bit overcooked but not bad. My husband had 2 eggs (scrambled), large slice of grilled ham, with biscuit & gravy (the biscuit seemed to be a bit doughy) and two sausage links. It all tasted pretty good. Coffee was pretty good, not bitter at all but held up to my added cream & sugar. They don't offer poached eggs (Benedicts are served with sunny side up) or grits. Service was a bit slow, but not too bad. It would've been nice to have our coffee filled more and I went and got a menu myself since we'd been sitting there awhile without having one (or coffee).

Driving back home from Champaign IL to Chicago, IL, I decided to google places in route. Yelp indicated the establishment opened at 7:30am which was right on target with my trip home. I arrived a little before opening time, but at 7:30am the door opened and I was greeted by the owner, Scott. The establishment was very nice and clean, comfortable and welcoming. My server Annette was very friendly and accommodating. Now for the main reason for my visit: the liver and onions was a divine gift!!! I know that having this entree for breakfast sounds weird, but I'm on a mission and trying to eat better. Anyway, I digress. The liver was seasoned exceptionally well and was topped with grilled onions and bacon. I opted for broccoli and rice pilaf instead of potatoes. I felt like I was at my family's home. The meal was so comforting . Hats off to the chef Rolando!!!! I'm 45 minutes away from Paul's Place and I'll be making this my stop off spot going forward on my way to my second home! Thank you Scott, Annette and Rolando for a great experience.

I wanted to contact them. I am not the one at all. They get comfortable too fast with a regular customer who pays. Disrespect the rights of customer asking questions. I have decided to not return here again. I felt racism here. I am always placed to the side - on hold over customers who came in after me. They serve.their friends first.and its not fair. No more involvement with the company. Im thru catering to abbsolut nonsense. It's truly unfortunate that the owner has an attitude with blacks. The food is excellent. Great potential in this sense. That was truly my only motivation for me to go there. No food complaints whatsoever, just a noticeable attitude from the top. Always having something smart to say. to customers, not all. Let's say: They know who to target. I have observed the owners interaction with others. Noticeable communication issues and lacking cultural sensitivity. NATASHA
