Ate at BrickStone a couple times last week. Was in town for work and had a couple of large groups (6-10) to take out for dinner. Took the larger group out on St Patty's Day. No trouble getting a table but the bar area was pretty full. Our server was fast and professional. She nailed everyone's drink and food orders with no issues. Food came out fast and hot as well. Tough to do with 10 people at a table. I ordered the Honey Glazed chicken. It was pretty good but the chicken had a few chewy spots. Flavor was great though. The glaze was sweet but not overpowering. 2nd night I ordered the Parmesan chicken. That chicken was great but o didn't care for the pasta it was served on. Flavor was good but just not my thing. Service was great both nights. Pricing is fair as well. Recommend if you're in the area and looking for something different than your typical nationwide chain. read more

Very disappointing experience at this establishment. It's been a few years since we've visited Brickstone and this time, we were not impressed. Service was slow -- to non existent -- at best. We ordered two saganashkees that were bland, with little to no crust. The server said he has never served two at once before, so I guess we loose. I ordered the Poke. It too was bland and some of the tuna was hard!! Yes, hard!! The serving included a dollop of guacamole that had no business on the plate, in my opinion. Chunks of avocado, that I thought I was getting, fine, but not a traditional guacamole. Not good. Three of the four persons at our table ordered burgers and were all equally disappointing. It seemed like the burgers were diced up like it we to get used like in chili. But then, there tried to make a hamburger out of it!! Really weird. The taste was good, but unmanageable as a hamburger. One of the persons at our table ordered a shrimp appetizer. He said it was "ok". This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is quite comfortable and the beer is okay. But, that's all it has going for it. Our previous visit a few years ago was much more enjoyable. We see no reason to return. read more

I didn't know what to expect when trying this place for the first time but wow the food was AMAZING. Pasta, flatbreads, sandwiches, and wraps all 10/10. Our server was hilariously bad at her job though. The food made it for it but the most memorable part of our dinner was our server barely talking to us, acting like we were a burden, and never even introducing herself. A fun little lunch spot, friends and I stopped by here one weekend. I actually liked that the menu was pretty big, so you can truly find something for everyone. The queso app was so good to start! I mean, hot melty cheese with chips. How could it not be? The turkey sandwich was what you'd expect, not too exciting but decent. I loved the bloody mary bar, so they bring you a shot of whatever you want over ice, and you go and mix up your own bloody mary. They had a bunch of different mixes, hot sauces, and garnishes available. They also had a surprisingly fun cocktail menu. My friend had a couple Pretty in Pinks which were also super tasty! The ambiance was very loud (although it was during a football game everyone seemed pretty pumped about #sportsball), so even mid-day on a sunday it was hard to hear the people at our table. It was a fun spot though! I could see this being a cool lil local watering hole. read more

First timer! Wow! Right in my neck of the woods sits a really nice brewery called Brickstone. The establishment was had plenty of seatings from high tops to low tops. We had an early dinner here on a Sunday and at 5PM they were already pretty busy, and only had high top tables available. Being vertically challenged, these are not my favorite, but I can manage. As others have mentioned though they have a lot of these high top tables, so if you have any mobility issues at all, it probably would be important to call ahead to try to get a regular table. I had a Brickstone APA which was quite good and a great deal at $5.95 for a pint. For my meal. I had a burger with a bacon-onion BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese. The BBQ sauce was excellent and featured a lot of tasty bacon. The burger itself was OK, but came well done rather than the medium I had ordered, and so was fairly dry and didn't have a ton of flavor, but the BBQ sauce saved it! No, I didn't send it back; I'd do it if it were undercooked, but being overcooked didn't stop me from eating the whole thing. The fries were crisp and nicely seasoned. Service was fast and just attentive enough to make sure we had what we needed. This is not a bad option for something nicer than fast food but still fast if you don't have a ton of time. read more

BrickStone is among the better places in Bourbonnais. It still isn't that good so that says something about the dining options around here. Of course the beer is the main thing. Even that is just okay. This is also overpriced especially for the food and it's nothing even special. I thought we needed a beer and food. It was about the only good place in town so we came here. This feels a lot like a big ass chain restaurant and it might have been before this. It may be best to stick with beer. Prices for this are okay. They have a lot to choose from and it can be hard to pick something. I liked the APA. It's $5.75 for a pint. This is a pale ale and it wasn't overly hoppy like some. Also we had the Giant Pretzel Sticks and thought they were kind of crap. It's $9.99 for a few. These come with a cheese or a mustard. An okay place for watching a game. It has lots of TVs above the bar so that's the best place to sit. The overall place kind of stinks and it feels less like a brewery and more like a big chain like BJ's or something like that. read more

I'm only giving this place 3 stars because the food was good and the beer was cold. The little redhead bartender they have working was by far the worst service I've ever had. Extremely rude, she didn't even ask if I needed anything, how the food was or if I wanted another beer. She cared more about chatting up with 3 guys sitting down at the bar and I literally watched a couple come up sit down and after 5 mins, walk out the door. Went there today for lunch and had an amazing time! The ambiance when I first went in was very welcoming. The staff were very nice. I ordered the wings because the waiter recommended them, and they were delicious. I ordered the flame grilled pork chops and they were very tender and tasted amazing. Brickstone was recommended to me by a coworker because he said they had a full menu and had something for everybody, and great beer. He wasnt lying and this place did not disappoint. If you are ever in the Bourbonnais area after watching the Bears training camp, this is a great place to eat. We originally wanted the loaded potato spirals but changed our minds as we thought it would have been too heavy on the belly since we were getting burgers. So we told our waitress that we wanted to change our appetizer order to just the spinach dip. Lo and behold when our appetizers came it was the potato spirals! It seemed our waitress was having a very rough day as she looked frazzled everytime she came by our table and didn't see us trying to flag her down. So we just decided to eat the damn thing. And the damn thing was delicious. Deliciously cheesy and salty and potatoey, glad she gave us our original order! I ordered the Sunrise Burger as my main dish and it was pretty good as well. If you like a sunny side up fried egg on your burger, this is for you. I warn you though, wear a bib as your chin will be dripping with eggjuice as you bite into the burger. The beer glasses are generously sized too and they have great specials! You can't go wrong coming to this establishment. Like my coworker said, they got something for everybody. Although the service that we had that day was a little rough, our waitress really was having a bad day. We noticed she was near tears and told her it was going to be okay. Apparently she got in trouble for getting our appetizer wrong and her manager yelled at her because that wasnt her first mistake that day. She was very apologetic and we wanted to make her day and still gave her a 20% tip. Hope she can look past that day! Everyone has bad days. read more

I've tried this restaurant several times, and I don't find anything too special, with the exception of beer. The service was minimal and I feel it is a bit pricey. The atmosphere is loud, probably because the bar, to me, seems to be centered in the restaurant. read more

BrickStone is good for what it is, where it is. My family went there recently, there were about 30 of us and Rhonda was our server. She did an excellent job, she kept the drinks filled, was attentive, got our orders right the first time and even split the checks. I've been to far more expensive restaurants with far fewer people to service and haven't expected or received the level of service offered by Rhonda. read more

Super pleased with BrickStone. While they're doing anything new or super exciting with their menu, they offer a big, diverse menu, and our entire party of 8 was pleased. There is ample seating and a pleasant atmosphere. None of us partook of their in-house brews, but it seems that there are some great choices and specials for those interested. Personally, I had the jambalaya and really enjoyed it. It was super flavorful and rich. It was also HUGE. Full transparency, I typically ask what the biggest thing is on a restaurant's menu and have no problem finishing it, but I was totally satisfied and actually took home leftovers (maybe due to the loaf of bread and butter I gleefully ate). I'd recommend BrickStone as a local date spot or for a large group gathering. read more

Wanted to take a trip to the brewpub, as we already knew we'd enjoy their beer! Plenty spacious parking and inside. After looking at the menu we opted for the shrimp dynamite appetizer and to drink the hazy ipa and the pineapple IPA the beers were very good, so good we ended up leaving with a growler and a 6pck. This used to be the go to place for great food and great brew....not so much anymore. The beer is still wonderful, the service (especially Billy) is great, the food has lost some appeal. My guess is the "pandemic" has cut short the supply of quality ingredients and meats ect, but it is not the great food place that it once was. You want a drink with friends, go here. We were traveling and stopped in Saturday evening for a bite after checking out their website. We ordered a burger with fries and a side salad, plus margaritas. The food was delicious, perfectly prepared! Margaritas just right and beer was ice cold. We sat in the glass patio area with the windows open- wonderful ambiance.
