Nice drive in where you can eat inside, outside or in your car. Go in to order and wait for them to call your number. Staff was friendly We got a hamburger and fries and a couple Chicago style hot dogs. All were really good and at a reasonable price.

We're getting our "Kicks on Route 66". Checking out Polka Dot Drive-In, Braidwood Ill.

Looking for a blast from the past? A peek into a different time? Then the Polk-A-Dot drive in is for you. My son and I are touring the historic Rt 66 and enjoyed dining at the drive in. Great food and a little nostalgia.

This place is nostalgic! It is a step back in time and a treat to visit. The servers were great and they were working well as a team. The food came out in a timely manner and was well prepared. The sandwiches are simple but they are very good and I'm sure you will enjoy them. If you want to visit a place that feels like it came out of the 50s, this is your spot. I enjoyed it and will visit again.

Thumbs up for tasty food and the novelty of the lifesize figurines of the Blues Brothers, Elvis, James Dean, and Marilyn Monroe hanging out around this place. Thumbs down for loooong waits and scatterbrained service. The same people were both taking orders and making food for some reason (hope they were washing hands), and there were serious problems with the plexiglass safety shields + people's masks making for the clerks not being able to hear anything (i heard one girl say to several people, "i can't hear anything you just said." And like, I don't want to be a jerk and yell it, but what else do we do, write it down? Ack.) There is both outdoor seating at picnic tables or to go in the car. This seems to be a very popular place with locals as a big crowd of older folks was hanging out the whole time we were eating. Oh yeah, the food! Hamburger was smallish but tasty enough; onion rings were good. Chocolate shake was thick! My friend's order got messed up bc they didn't hear she wanted the basket, but her daughter had also ordered one and they had plenty of fries for 2 with just that. Overall, a cute stop on Route 66, but they need a better ordering system.

The food is bad. Period. The cheeseburger I got was awful. The food my son and boyfriend got was also bad. I would never come here again.

Food is mediocre at best. Don't treat their employees well, unless they are related or a favorite.

They also hold some events and I saw a table that said they had a Bloody Mary bar, but it wasn't going on the day we went. We ordered a meatball sub, bone-in wings, boneless wings, and fries/onion rings to try. We told the server to bring the food out as it was ready. We waited a long while for our first item to come out and it was the bone-in wings surprisingly, then the boneless wings, and finally the meatball sub. The wings were great and I enjoyed the onion rings as well! The meatball sub was cold and did not taste the best. If I come again, I would just come for the wings and a few drinks. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The bartender and guests at the bar were laughing and having a good time. If you're from out of town, it's also worth mentioning the good that the owner does... outside of having this restaurant. He holds food pantries for the locals no questions asked. When we were going through government shutdown last year, he also partnered with Jewel Osco to give away Turkey dinner kits so family's could have a Thanksgiving. If all else, that's one heck of a reason to give your business here.

"The…read moreHideout" is aptly named because it's hidden behind the façade of an American Legion Post and flies beneath the radar of folks from out-of-town. But the public is welcome, and it's high time to share this local treasure on Yelp! Oh, this joint is nuttin' fancy. The Post decided to increase its visibility by putting a small sign on the outside of the building. Period. There is a large front room with a bar, and a few steps up is a spacious meeting hall suitable for groups and private parties. Gaming is between the two rooms. The décor (what décor?) is plain-plain but the vibe is friendly and festive. The recently-expanded menu features diner fare and pub grub with a smattering of Mexican and Cajun items. We dined with a group of friends and passed around a few apps. The crawfish soup earned thumbs-up, ditto the colossal batter-dipped onion rings and piquant fried pickles. I had a BBQ brisket wrap; it was bursting with possibly more than 8 oz. of tender and juicy smoked brisket. A red smoke ring was visible and the sauce was just right. My Missus said her burger, served on a rich brioche bun, was exceptional. Portions are huge and the down-to-earth prices include one side. There are several sides to pick from. I had the tangy but overdressed coleslaw. There are two pasta entrées on the menu - "Cajun" and "Alfredo." The "Cajun" turned out to be Alfredo pasta topped with diced tomatoes. Apart from that one dud, which was sent back to the kitchen, the food, service and value exceeded our expectations. Of note, dessert and coffee are not served here (but there's a Dunkin nearby). We gotta return for a Friday fish fry.
