This facility looks great from the front (the storefront has 3 doors), making it look like a really big facility., however when you enter the facility, there is no one working at the front desk. The room to the side (on the right) is a padded room, where the pads do not even look like it meant to fit in that room) and is used for a Muay Thai class. you go through a set of doors behind the front desk and you are greeted by an unfinished looking gym where it is concrete and a loading dock door. It is very messy looking, and on the side is a small set of Mats where the jiu jitsu class was taking place. I don't remember the name of the instructor, however when i told him that my kids have had experience in the past, he brushed it off. When the class was over, my 2 daughters left saying they never wanted to go back because the instructor told one of the ladies on the side saying that there is no way that these girls have experience...in front of my girls (ages 10 and 13). that is very disrespectful. When they left, the instructor didn't even apologize for it. Just noted that when I tell someone that they are experienced in the future, that it should mean they know how to train properly. (on a side note), you can tell that this was not a real gym by the fact there was only 1 other child in the class (other than the instructors own kids). A little class, patience and respect goes a long way. This instructor definitely needs to understand that going forward if they plan on growing their business.

Starting going to classes as a family two months ago. A few things to note. None of us (parents,…read moretwo kids) had any experience with martial arts so we didn't know what to expect. I was surprised to find myself on the mat ten minutes after walking in the door working on moves and submissions. My wife and I both loved it. Everyone is helpful, both instructors, and other students. The general attitude in this place is wonderful. On the kids side, ours were not especially eager initially, but once they got in the class, that was it. They're hooked. The kids instructors make new kids feel very welcome, and they make practice fun. Kids on the mats in contact and working on submissions like the adults but with an approach that suitable for their ages. This place is a 100% recommend. We just moved to Cary and it is one of our luckiest discoveries here.
