I got Invisalign treatment with Align Orthodontics and it was a great experience as an adult…read more I came in for a second opinion after my general dentist had did my initial evaluation for clear liners. Align Orthodontics evaluation was extremely thorough and thought and completely blew me away. Dr. Nguyen walked through all the areas of treatment, duration, complexities, and goals. The evaluation not only had a clinical portion, but had a financial portion too where the total cost of care, payment plans options, insurance etc were discussed. After the evaluation, a formal report detailing treatment was sent! There were so many logistics that Align did well and executed. Initially, I had to come in every other week for visits to tighten my power chains and then eventually I graduated out of that. I also moved out of the San Diego Area and the team was able to accommodate keeping my treatment on track based on their once a month Saturday appointments. Administratively, the office is very organized, you get text reminders of appointments. They are open on selected Saturdays which is really great for flexibility, but appointments do book up, so get on the calendar well in advance. I never had a problem 6-8 weeks ahead getting an appointment at 8 am on a Saturday. The office was immaculate and clean. All the support staff were super great. They also did a great job documenting your journey. My treatment did go a bit longer than expected because I moved out of San Diego and had to do some extra refinements to get things just perfect. Would definitely recommend Align to others!

After two family members completed braces with this business I made a pragmatic decision to send my…read moretwo other kids to a different orthodontist. This decision wasn't based on quality of work. Orthadontia isn't heart surgery and you're likely to get the same great results no matter who you end up using. The outcomes met expectations. What is dodgy are their billing practices, aggressive pressure to get your kids into "two-stage" braces (basically paying for braces twice), and repeated sales calls trying to get your other kids into braces asap was all just too much... Oh and don't get me started with their billing department consistently trying to bill our insurance company even though they already hit the payment limit long ago. Don't they realize that I get an email from my insurance company every time someone tries to bill against the insurance? My other kids have braces now from a different Orthodontist. Surprisingly the new orthodontist said "two stage" wasn't applicable in their cases. Tip - If your orthodontist pressures you into two-stage braces from day one get a second opinion. Two-stage braces should be the exception, but more and more orthodontist groups are making it the default recommendation.

Unfortunately, I was cut off with a quick "we don't," which immediately made me feel dismissed and discouraged from wanting to continue pursuing services there. I live downtown, and Poway is about a 35-minute drive for me, so I was simply trying to narrow down my options before scheduling multiple consultations all over San Diego. As someone who works in the service industry myself, I completely understand not always being able to give exact pricing over the phone, but there's still a way to communicate that kindly and professionally without interrupting someone mid-sentence. First impressions matter, and because of this interaction, I will gladly take my services and money elsewhere.

Updated review!…read more Still a 5 star experience! It's been 5 years since I have gotten Invisalign and I have no regrets. I have been using retainers/nightguard since then and because I'm a serial teeth grinder. It's pretty bad. Fortunately, these retainers have saved my teeth. I have worn down a lot of my retainers and I am able to get replacements here at a reasonable time. They usually last 1-2 years depending on how bad I'm grinding. The retainers are comfortable to sleep in. Customer service is prompt, professional, and organized. They are flexible with scheduling and very accommodating. I also appreciate the reminder texts. Always a pleasant experience here and Dr. Maulik and the rest of the staff are very welcoming and nice. The clinic is clean and inviting. The location is convenient and near other stores and eateries. There really is nothing to complain about. Thankfully, they accept my HSA insurance payment, which makes it stress-free for me. Highly recommend them!
