Prior to my trip, I sent an email that went ignored. When I filled out the form onsite they were a bit aggressive to shove me into a day and time they wanted. The only slots they'd offer were 6am,7am or sunset. They wanted the next day and I proposed an alternative day but they still only offered those times. 8am seems like it's not that much different from 7am to me. It would've been easier as a single mom to a 2 year old. A delayed start time would be ideal when you're trying to get yourself and a small child ready for a shoot and to cooperate with taking photos after he's just woken up. (We have a photographer at home who is quite easy to work with around my son so we get beautiful pictures even at peak sunlight.) I was going to begrudgingly go ahead with it but then they tacked on they needed to schedule a consultation at $350 to just view the photos. For me, that should've been disclosed up front as a sitting fee. I have a 2 year old. The idea that I can keep him from tearing your studio apart in an hour to try and hard sell me on photos is funny. What if I hate the photos? They don't photoshop them for you so it just didn't seem like this would be the photographer for us. I don't need portraits to hang on my wall. I just need some cute pics for instagram to show the family. The positive was at the luau they took one ok pic. The male photographer was very nice. They never did find us to tell us how to access the photos but another person in our group downloaded them from the link they were given.

She was prompt to respond to our inquiry and it was easy to work with her to secure the date, setup the contract, and discuss what we wanted for our wedding, even from several thousand miles away. We met in person the week of the wedding and walked around the venue to plan which areas would be good to take our group photos on the day of, and also because she wanted to see how the sunlight would be at the time of our ceremony and reception. This preparation and attention to detail came through in the images we got back from our wedding day. On the big day, Molly and her assistant, Lux, were on time and quickly got to work capturing all of the important, as well as the easily overlooked, moments of the day. From the final hour of preparation before walking down the aisle, to standing at the alter, to the dinner & reception, Molly and Lux were never in the way, but rather stealthy captured amazing pictures without distracting from the event itself. Having been to weddings in the past where the sound of the camera distracted from the vows, or the photographer blocked guests from seeing the ceremony or speeches - we were so lucky to have had these moments captured without any distraction - so much so that some friends later commented that they didn't know we had a photographer during parts of the day. From the very moment I contacted Corinne + Ryan, they were very responsive and flexible given our limited time on the island. Typically they specialize in weddings and intimate adventures with couples, however they were excited to take on my request for family photos. We shared/brainstormed ideas regarding location, logistics with kiddos, and capturing my overall "vision." On the day of our shoot, they went as far as scoping out the location an hour beforehand just to make sure everything was good to go.
