However, when we received the photos from our session just 24 hours later, we were truly amazed. The images showcased us as the happiest and most beautiful family. Let me set the scene on the real image 2 exhausted parents side eyeing each other and their kids running around in the sand. We've lost complete control of them and are actually trying to control 3 children under the age of 5. They are losing their exhausted minds, while our photographer made miracles happen, capturing the essence of our time on the island. The photographer worked wonders, and it was evident that she dedicated hours to editing our photos. We left the beach that day feeling the onlookers rethinking any thoughts of having children but in contrast, our family appeared in the photos as if we were living our best day on the island, radiating joy and warmth. Going in know it's not cheap. Put it in your budget because it's something that you will have FOREVER. Remember that they are very good at what they do. In my case I checked around and it's just a little less than most but better quality and EXCELLENT customer service. Went in just wanting one family photo and I bought all of them on the thumb drive. The pictures were not taken recently but I still have them and I'm going again to have them taken so I'll update again. The reviews are still good so I wanted to add. Still no buyers remorse. Still get compliments on their photos.

Jimmy and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Josh Fletcher with Fletch Photography…read more Choosing a wedding photographer was one of the most important decisions we made while planning our destination wedding on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi, and Josh exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we first connected with him, he was incredibly professional, responsive, and genuinely kind. On the day of our wedding (February 5, 2026), he was truly a dream to work with. His personality is so calm, easygoing, and reassuring, which made the entire experience feel effortless and relaxed -- something we appreciated so much during such an emotional and meaningful day. When we received our gallery, we were absolutely blown away. The photos are breathtaking. Josh captured every moment so beautifully -- from our church ceremony, to our traditional Hawaiian sunset ceremony overlooking the ocean where we exchanged our vows, to our reception celebration. He perfectly documented not only the big moments, but also the quiet, emotional, and candid ones that mean so much. It was clear from the beginning that Josh understood our vision, and he delivered beyond anything we could have imagined. His talent truly shines through every single image. If you are getting married on the Big Island and are looking for a photographer who is incredibly talented, professional, and wonderful to work with, we wholeheartedly recommend Josh. We are so grateful we found his portfolio while searching for photographers in Hawaiʻi, and these photos are something we will treasure for the rest of our lives. Mahalo, Josh, for capturing our wedding day so perfectly. We already cannot wait for our return to the Big Island and would love to have you capture our family as it grows. -- Mary & Jimmy Kopanic

Also, communication from Josh's end leading up to our wedding was almost nonexistent. Josh took multiple days to respond to texts and sometimes never returned them only until we told our wedding coordinator about the lack of communication.

She offered gentle guidance and creative tips to help our 17-month-old laugh and smile throughout the session. Prior to my trip, I sent an email that went ignored. When I filled out the form onsite they were a bit aggressive to shove me into a day and time they wanted. The only slots they'd offer were 6am,7am or sunset. They wanted the next day and I proposed an alternative day but they still only offered those times. 8am seems like it's not that much different from 7am to me. It would've been easier as a single mom to a 2 year old. A delayed start time would be ideal when you're trying to get yourself and a small child ready for a shoot and to cooperate with taking photos after he's just woken up. (We have a photographer at home who is quite easy to work with around my son so we get beautiful pictures even at peak sunlight.) I was going to begrudgingly go ahead with it but then they tacked on they needed to schedule a consultation at $350 to just view the photos. For me, that should've been disclosed up front as a sitting fee. I have a 2 year old. The idea that I can keep him from tearing your studio apart in an hour to try and hard sell me on photos is funny. What if I hate the photos? They don't photoshop them for you so it just didn't seem like this would be the photographer for us. I don't need portraits to hang on my wall. I just need some cute pics for instagram to show the family. The positive was at the luau they took one ok pic. The male photographer was very nice. They never did find us to tell us how to access the photos but another person in our group downloaded them from the link they were given.
