On Kauai with our three young children, who proved to be quite uncooperative during our session. My husband and I found ourselves feeling quite exhausted by the experience that I shouldn't have booked so late in the day with small children. However, when we received the photos from our session just 24 hours later, we were truly amazed. The images showcased us as the happiest and most beautiful family. Let me set the scene on the real image 2 exhausted parents side eyeing each other and their kids running around in the sand. We've lost complete control of them and are actually trying to control 3 children under the age of 5. They are losing their exhausted minds, while our photographer made miracles happen, capturing the essence of our time on the island. The photographer worked wonders, and it was evident that she dedicated hours to editing our photos. We left the beach that day feeling the onlookers rethinking any thoughts of having children but in contrast, our family appeared in the photos as if we were living our best day on the island, radiating joy and warmth. Going in know it's not cheap. Put it in your budget because it's something that you will have FOREVER. Remember that they are very good at what they do. In my case I checked around and it's just a little less than most but better quality and EXCELLENT customer service. Went in just wanting one family photo and I bought all of them on the thumb drive. The pictures were not taken recently but I still have them and I'm going again to have them taken so I'll update again. The reviews are still good so I wanted to add. Still no buyers remorse. Stayed at the Fairmont on the Big Island in August & had a family photo shoot because these guys had an office there. I paid a few weeks ago to have 5 pics touched up & have had no response to calls or emails. We received a complementary photo shoot with our hotel stay during our babymoon and thought it would be a fun thing to do. Our photographer Cynthia took some amazing photos, was really friendly and was great at communicating how she wanted us to pose. I visited Hawaii for my first time in May. My travel agent knows that I love having photo shoots, so she advised me that my resort, the Fairmont Orchid, had a photography studio on site. Needless to say, I was elated and booked my session online. The registration process was quick and straightforward. I booked a 45 minute session and met with my photographer/creative director, Loryn Restivo. She was very energetic and embraced my vision for my shoot. I wanted to be a Polynesian king. We walked to a remote part of the beach, and the magic began. It was early in the morning, and the sun provided superb lighting. Loryn took hundreds of shots of me with the perfect natural backdrops, including the ocean, sand, rocks and greenery. She even took some fabulous candid shots, and it seemed as if her camera loved me. Although our session was 45 minutes, it felt like we were stuck in time because of the magic that was occurring. After the shoot, we went back to the studio to schedule my photo-viewing appointment. Two days later, I met with Myca Laufenberg, who was very friendly. The hardest part about this entire experience was trying to select which photos I loved best. There were hundreds of flawless pictures and I loved them all! My photo shoot with Pacific Dream Photography was the highlight of my trip to the Big Island. I highly recommend them, and I'm certain that if you choose them you won't be disappointed. During our stay at the Fairmont Orchid on Hawaii, we had a wonderful photo session with Pacific Dream Photography. On the day of our appointment, our original photographer was very sick. The office quickly booked us with an alternate photographer, Cynthia, who was wonderful to work with. We were a family group (senior Mom and two adult daughters) with no experience having professional photo taken. Cynthia put us at ease and gently choreographed us through the session. I don't typically get professional pictures taken, but our recent trip to Hawaii was really special - my seven month old son's first vacation, with both my husband's and my immediate families. It was the first and potentially the last time all four grandparents would be able to vacation together. A session with Pacific Dream was included with the resort fee at the Fairmont Orchid, so I figured we might as well take some pictures and if they looked terrible we wouldn't have to buy any. However, they came out much better than I expected, and between my mother in law, my mother, sister, and I, we ended up getting a larger package than I had initially intended. I was very impressed with the efficiency and quality of the pictures. We were only at the resort for five full days, but they still managed to get them edited and prepared for us in just two days. We will always be able to look back on these pictures and remember the amazing family trip. read more

A MUST DO while at the Orchid Fairmont!! My husband and I are not what you would call... naturally photogenic, in that we feel super awkward in front of the camera. But Kay was an absolute magician and got the most incredible, authentically happy shots of us on our honeymoon! Rui... why haven't you called or emailed us back? I'm appalled that you did not inform the photographer of our anniversary photo shoot cancellation and I had to apologize to them on your behalf. We had a simple request, text or call when you had a confirmation from the photographer, but somehow this was not possible. We left you a message and emailed to cancel after waiting 4hrs for your reply. Why is the responsibility to communicate with your customers? It is a two way street my friend.. After our cancellation, why didn't you notify the photographer? This poor woman does not deserve to be treated like this, let alone our experience. I can only imagine what would have happened if we went through with this and had to work with you on the editing and package selection. Also, helpful tip for the future.. do not lie to a guest, it's unprofessional and unacceptable. My family and I stayed at the Fairmont Orchid during the second week of June and had a photoshoot on the property. Samantha was our photographer, and she was/is amazing! We had such a good time. She is so easy and fun to be around, and she was patient with us even when we were being a little too goofy. She moved us around to quite a few locations, which varied our choices for photos which was great. The photos are amazing! I wish we had taken more photos within the foliage around the property, because the colors that developed in the final images were incredible (we took our photos around sunset). If someone told me they wanted professional pictures, I would just send them to Waimea, HI just to have an hour with Samantha. We stayed at the Fairmont on the big island in May and thought it would be a great idea to have pictures of the trip since it was a first vacation for our son. WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID! We did a smaller shoot because our son is young and we thought we would only want to buy one portrait. Well, of course this is not how it ended.
