They have several courses and can host huge events! I highly recommend this place for shooting sporting clays!

Great place to shoot sporting clays. Jake's is open to the public. Some shotgun ranges require a $200 annual membership. I like that Jake's doesn't require a "buy in" prior to planning to go shooting. It is close to Greenwood and convenient from downtown Midland. Jakes offers four different sporting clay circuits ranging from mildly to moderately difficult, this is a great place to try sporting clays on for size. Jake's only offers sporting clays and does not have skeet or trap shooting facilities. I recommend opting for a golf cart, it's a bit of a hike from the main building down to the ranges, especially when carrying 100 shells and a shotgun. Expect to pay around $40 if you provide you own shells. Jake's will sell ammo, but they don't sell low quality shells. I usually find shells for $5 a box at Academy so my "all in" price is around $60. That's right in line with a round of golf so I feel like it's a good value. Plan to spend 2-3 hours of your day including driving time. read more

We just moved from Houston and jake's was a welcome surprise. Their courses are challenging and exciting and technology and lay out would compete with the best out there. You can rent a gun if you don't have one along with the ammo. For $40 per 100 shots including taxes, this was a great deal even as a non member. Their shop was well stocked and the club house was very impressive and clean. Staff was super and I look forward to take more friends out there. You can even plan events over here. There was one going on but there were still enough stations for other shooters to enjoy the course without any delay or wait. One word of advise, always stay hydrated and carry water especially if you are not on the golf cart. Being in west Texas with the drought, each station doesn't have a water cooler as we usually do in Houston. The farthest station is 1.2 miles away so it can be a challenge. That being said, amazing course and really nice being out there. Make the most of your weekend and go out there. Request: for all the avid shooters, please be courteous to the staff and collect the spent shells and put them in the bin. I am sure the crew would appreciate the gesture and not having to bend to pick these up over 40 station would help them keep the maintenance fees low. read more

Jakes is a beautiful facility! I don't think that you could get a nicer clubhouse, or well kept up course. I shoot fairly regular. However the course is boring. Other courses in the area offer more variety in target presentation and station personality. I know that Jakes is a newer club and trying to forge its own path out here, and honestly the quality of the machines is far superior. We had only one trap failure all day! And there were over 1000 shooters! But there is still a lot to be said about how your traps are thrown. Keep it up guys! I think you're off to a brilliant start. I will come shoot again! read more
