This is a 45 minute ride for us to eat here and it's well worth it. I know the name says Jake ribs but we come here for the catfish and chicken fried steak. The service here is always pleasant and on point. Plus the extra large drinking cups are a star on its own. The catfish here is breaded perfectly with just the right seasoning. The country fried steak comes out in two pieces and the gravy downcast taste like a can. read more

This place may have good cafe food but if you're looking for Great Bbq, this isn't your place. The ribs were decently cooked but I'm pretty sure they don't season their meat. Very big portions. If you have a big family, it's a good place to go for a good price. Fries are massive, you get enough to feed 4-5 people for one order. Fries were undercooked and greasy. In general, really not good. Smoked turkey sandwich was grilled didn't really taste smoked. BBQ sauce on the Pulled pork sandwich completely mixed into the meat. It was way too much sauce and had a funny taste. The size of the sides was very inconsistent. A side of fries was HUGE. Enough to feed 4 people. Side of okra and green beans was a enough for one person. All sides cost the same amount. Pink lemonade tasted off, as if it was expired. Water did not have a pleasant taste to it. Came in on a Friday with a party of 10 and we were seated immediately. Our server was super nice and very quick. I ordered the 14 oz ribeye with armadillo eggs, wings, and okie fries. All the food was fresh and tasted great. The Portion sizes were extremely generous and to top it all off, you can take the quality plastic "jakes rib"cup home as a souvenir (I'm not from Oklahoma) . The only thing that I'm impressed by is 1. The portions and 2. How long Oklahomans are willing to wait for mediocre BBQ. The wait was insane and there wasn't anywhere to sit. So we huddled together getting hungrier and hungrier as mountains of curly fries passed by. The hostess was so sweet and kept us entertained for awhile, but we ended up waiting for over an hour. We finally get a table, and the server did not have the same cheerful attitude as the host. We had to ask a lot of questions because we had never been there before and she didn't volunteer any info about the menu. She seemed irritated that she wasn't able to take our order and run. We got the Okie Fry appetizer, which is slices of fried potato, cheese, and bacon. We ate every bite because we were so hungry, but the fries were not cooked well. The slices were all at different thicknesses, so some pieces were burnt and some were raw. I ordered the fried catfish for my entree with fried zucchini and spicy cornbread. My boyfriend had the ribs, brisket, curly fries, and potato salad. All of the portions were insanely large, but really weren't even that good unless you are starving to death. (And of course everyone is because of the lengthy wait after a drive to chickasha) The catfish was the best part. It was much better than the ribs my boyfriend ordered. With BBQ, I expect a crispy dry spice rub on the outside of moist and tender meat with yummy sauce. Well, they have good sauce. There spicy rub I crave was nonexistent. Decent BBQ, We ordered the two meat special with 4 sides (fries, calf fries, corn on the cob, green beans). Decent amount of food. They serve a brick of curly fries. The armadillo eggs are fried jalapeños with cheese. Cheese was that processed curdled cheese, not my favorite. The ham and brisket were fine warm and a lot of it. Green beans were ok. Corn on the cob was cold and it tasted like they used margarine instead of real butter. And i put salt and pepper on it and it still was bland. Maybe go with different side than corn. Would NOT recommend eating here! The ribs were tough and the green beans were cold. Did NOT like their BBQ sauce. We ordered ribs and chopped brisket (ribs were tough like I said, and the chopped brisket was swimming in their not so good sauce). We took the left overs home in hopes of salvaging the food we paid for. I hate wasting food but, if I cant get the ribs more tender and bake out some of the sauce from the chopped brisket, it will go in the trash. The fried Okra was good and the Arnold Palmer Tea was good but that was it. There are other posts just like this that we saw before hand but, thought we would try it anyway because we aren't picky eaters. Sad we waisted time and money on less than mediocre BBQ. Expect an unassuming metal building with all the charm of a welding torch. Yup -- a basic and ugly interior. But, hey -- the barbecue's not the reason I go to Jake's when I'm in Chickasha, let alone the damned interior. I go for the fried chicken gizzards, thank you. I'm one of about five people in the universe who truly loves gizzards, I think. At least it feels like that sometimes. So, all else aside, this place gets five Yelp stars from Yours Truly instead of four FOR THE FREAKIN' GIZZARDS ALONE. Good fried gizzards should be fresh and chewy, and should never lose their breading once they're out of the fryer and near my hungry gob. PERIOD. Now, on my last visit, I saw a placard advertising a 22 oz. Porterhouse and -- while that sounds freaking amazing -- I cannot imagine who might be able to eat that much meat in one sitting. (Seriously. Of course, if you look at the average size of the average patron from Grady County, well, it doesn't seem all that implausible. I'm just sayin'.) The whole place reeks of smoke, but -- be honest with yourself -- is that really a demerit? I dunno. I mean, after all, this IS a barbecue joint, and I certainly wouldn't exactly expect it to reek of Chanel #5, orange blossom water, and crème fraîche. Worth the drive from OKC. My server was great and very knowledgeable when I asked about gluten free items. The hot BBQ sauce contains gluten but the mild doesn't. One star deducted because the BBQ sauce has a strong vinegar taste. Otherwise, everything else was good and I didn't get sick. read more

It was just their regular ribs they salted and peppered after they plated it and charged me an extra 2-4 bucks for them to salt and pepper it.. give me a break. I've never liked the rest of their meat, their brisket has always been rubber slicked too thin and terrible. Now even their ribs suck! I came here for the sides in the past, but the last several years even those suck now and the portions are not insane like they used to be, yet gone up in price. Pretty much everything everyone else said in their reviews is true. The ribs are just average ribs but the portion size is awesome and their sauce is good (you'll need it). The brisket maybe below average not much bark and not enough smoke for me. The chicken fried steak is huge 2 steaks really. But man they just kill it on the sides. The coleslaw was great and the okra to. The side of curly fries could feed 4 people. Trust me, do not drink the water. My Oklahoma family would always take us here when we visited and loved the food and wow, the portions!!!The ribs are Smokey and tender and so delicouse!!! Loaded baked potato was giant. All the fried foods were crispy golden brown and not greasy!! Sausage links sliced beef and pulled pork..... all filled with Just the right smokiness and flavor that is accompanied by your choice of tangy mild or hot bbq sauce. We literally had a feast and it was not overly priced. Best if you can come with a group and enjoy the family style spread to taste a little bit of everything!!!! i can't get over how much i love jake's rib. the first time i went was over a year ago. i was given several recommendations by friends to visit and made the trip. my first experience was lackluster. now, in the past 5 weeks, i have been 3 more times. i love it. the portions are huge enough that you get to enjoy your leftovers later that night. the food is beyond delicious. i love the sliced pork, sliced beef, and especially the spare ribs! i don't even need bbq sauce, the ribs are so good. when ordering the dinners, only one person needs to order the french fries as that side is incredibly large. corn on the cob is delivered in butter. oh so yummy. be careful ordering water though as it can taste like smoked-meats kitchen. you do get a souvenir cup to take with you as well. service is what is expected from a "rural" restaurant of this nature. friendly staff, busy every time I've been. If you want some good barbecue and have a big appetite Jake's ribs is the place to go. It is one place that I can truly say you get your money's worth. They have the best Okie fries I have ever had & sliced beef sandwiches have so much meat on them did I can get two or three sandwiches out of one. It is a great place to take your family and friends I recommend you go early or call in order to go because that place is always packed! I seriously say this is one of the best restaurants we have in this town and if you're coming to visit I would try to go there and eat. They have some of the nicest people working there and they always keep your glasses full and make sure that you have everything you want. I cannot stress enough how good there barbecue is. read more

I have been here 2-3 times before, and the food has been pretty good. I just visited last weekend, and ordered the pulled pork sandwich and curly fries. Both were amazing!! The prices are cheap considering they give you enough food for at least 2 servings. If you order the curly fries, just know that it's enough for at least 3-4 people to share as a side. Went in with a large party of 11. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Several of us ordered different foods and everyone was more than pleased! The ribs were perfect and so many came with a dinner. The portions were so large we all left with to-go boxes. It breaks my heart to have to write this... because I grew up with such fond memories of this place. But man, I ate there last week, and it just wasn't good. First of all, I don't think the interior has been updated since I was a child. That's not all bad, I guess, but sometimes change is good. The salad bar was OK, but there wasn't a huge selection of vegetables. If pasta salads are your jam, they had several of them that were ok. I ordered a water and ended up getting some pink lemonade because the water straight up tasted like liquid smoked meat. Now, I know it's a smokehouse, but come one... you can't have water that tastes like that! My actually meal - chicken breast with a side of fried zucchini - was ok. The flavor of the chicken was good, but the chicken was actually cold. It seems like they had taken it out of the fridge and tossed on the grill for a second. The fried zucchini was delicious, but that's not really a balanced meal... fried zucchini and ranch. The worst part is it was overpriced. I paid $17 before tip for LUNCH. Please heed this review! I grew up going to Jake's Rib, but haven't been in years. Today I went back and had the worst dining experience I've ever had by far. For starters, the "ribs" they're supposed to be famous for (after all, it's in their name) were completely tasteless and tough, and pretty well meatless altogether. We drove an hour to get here, wasting our time, gas and the money we spent eating horrible food. This was all only the first part of the problem. When I brought my experience to the attention of the "manager" and informed her I couldn't even finish my meal, I asked only for a discount, not a full comp, and she refused. This in my opinion proves why this once great restaurant has gone to such crap. When the manager cannot care about the customer, it's all downhill from there. The stories you've heard about how good Jake's is we're all true once but they are very much a thing of the past. PLEASE, save yourself the money and the heartache and go somewhere else. I became very ill after eating at this restaurant. I was in Chickasha for a conference last week and had lunch at Jake's Rib. Within one hour I was very sick. I just got my lab work back and found out I have Astrovirus, which is spread by restaurant employees not washing their hands. Was extremely sick for several days. read more

Carrots and cucumbers were the only veggies options: shredded carrots were dried out, cucumbers were transparent & slimy. Also very disappointed in the side dish options, very few vegetables that aren't fried or are already considered starches. When I asked for lemon for my iced tea, I was given packets of lemon juice. This BBQ restaurant came highly recommended but I must admit I was a bit disappointed mostly because of the taste of the food. I ordered the spare rib entree and that came with a HUGE side order of French fries both of which weren't seasoned at all whatsoever. My ribs were really undercooked was borderline pink in color. The waitress was kind enough to provide me a complimentary order of onion rings. The only reason why I gave this place 3 stars is only because of the portion sizes.
