Pretty good little hole in the wall in Odessa. Make sure you do not go at lunch since the place is packed with workers and they are understaffed. Additionally, be very clear on what plate you want and lots of them sound alike and you may not get what you want. read more

I was in the mood for Mexican food, and also needed a haircut so I decided to try this place. It looks small from the outside, but quite spacious on the inside, and welcoming...a big plus for me :-). The waitress met me at the table within 30 seconds with chips and salsa. The chips were ok, but the salsa was pretty good...perfect level of spice and flavor for me. I ordered the beef enchilada plate, no beans, double rice, with the sauces on the side (green and red)...that's right, me no likee frijoles, hehe. In less than 10 minutes, I got my meal in a nice hot plate. The food satisfied my taste buds, and I liked the green sauce more than the red, but the salsa over my enchiladas was the best ;-). This place has a family owned feel about it, with good food, courteous staff, and decent pricing. I like it, and would definitely recommend it. read more

Why is this place still open?! Let me start by saying I've been here twice. Around Thanksgiving I came to eat breakfast right at opening. I got eggs, beans and carne guisada with potatoes and tortillas. The eggs were fine as well as the beans and tortillas (hard to mess that up), but the potatoes were a little undercooked. I didn't mind since I figured it was a blessing in disguise by not taking in those carbs. It was a lot of food after all. The biggest problem that day was the carne guisada. It had an okay flavor and consistency for what I like, but it was cold. Barely warmer than fridge temperature, like they had barely heated it up from being in the fridge all night. I chalked it up to being first thing in the morning, but if you don't have it ready for breakfast, don't put it on the menu for breakfast. I mixed it with my hot eggs and beans and wrapped it all in a warm flour tortilla. It wasn't bad, especially for the price. The waitress was great and attentive, too. Fast forward to today, I took the family for lunch since we were leaving Walmart and we were starving. We got two beef, cheese and bean quesadillas, bean and cheese nachos, I got a pastor torta and we got queso for an appetizer. I like their chips there, the salsa has been decent, but too hot for most the kids and the queso is the canned variety (Rico). I can go to Sams or a 7-Eleven if I want Rico Nacho cheese with chips. Kids like crap like that though so I let them eat it. Now, my unsweet tea comes out. My mouth was burning from the salsa and I couldn't really taste the tea all that much, but half way down I noticed that I kept getting a funny smell/taste in my mouth. If anybody's from Odessa reading this, you probably get a weird smell from the water and drains sometimes (we do at our house which is right down the road from this place). That's what I was tasting, fart. I asked my wife to taste it and afterwards she looked at me and said she couldn't believe I just drank half that glass. So, I told the waitress she might want to taste it and throw it out. I got a bottled drink after that. I should have left then... We get the quesadillas, the ground beef was NOT drained of grease what so ever, my boys aren't picky and they didn't want to eat them. They were literally dripping. Grease drippings aren't always bad with food in my opinion, but nobody wants to eat a soggy flour tortilla with undrained 80-20 ground beef grease mixed with the oiliness from the cheese, as well. The bean and cheese nachos were good, but we keep chips, canned refried beans and shredded cheese at the house at all times; we could've made our own for a fraction of the cost and faster. My pastor torta wasn't bad, the bread was great, but the pastor itself needs work, a lot of work. Worst pastor I've had in a few years. It's not bad, I'm just a pastor snob maybe. Also, the fries that came with it I guess the oil wasn't hot enough and they weren't done (cooking potatoes thoroughly isn't a strong point of there's). So, we were getting ready to leave and already talking about how we're never coming back and my stomach started turning, bad. I didn't make it out of the restaurant before I got so nauseated I had to run to the bathroom and started puking. I puked up everything! Made a huge mess in their bathroom sink and trash can. My wife complained of being nauseous, as well. She actually went to the bathroom at the same time as me and said she almost did because the ladies bathroom was so disgusting. (Note: She ended up puking a little after we were home for an hour). The guy at the checkout asked me how everything was and I told him about our experience and told him I just puked everything up in their bathroom, probably from the tea and he shrugged it off. No big deal. Almost acted as if I was making it up, "the tea? Really? Hmm, that'll be $59" (he'll find out when he goes to the bathroom). $59 and that's after I made them take off one of the quesadillas since the boys had eaten one slice each. They should've charged us $20 for sprite, bean and cheese nachos and a canned queso dip, if they even charged us at all. I was ready to get out of there, though, so no big deal, they'll never get a penny from me and hopefully you don't waste your money there. If you do, stick to something they can't mess up; canned refried beans and packaged shredded cheese nachos or something that's not made the night before and left out all night. Good luck. read more

Don't bother! We went here with my brother because it's pretty close to the house. When you order Mexican food, you expect piping hot and steaming. Our plates had cheese just sitting on top, unmelted. We found out there was a per plate charge to heat your plates! Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't one of the hallmarks of Mexican food a hot plate? The sauce tasted like it was basically vinegar and chili powder. The food tasted like it had been under heat lamps for a while and the tacos were greasy and fell apart. My brother ordered the tampiqueno steak. It had no sauce of any kind (these steaks are supposed to have a sauce). He ordered it medium rare. He said his work boot may have been more tender. All in all, never trust a Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. read more

This place is one of our favorites. It is very near our house. They have good hot food. We always get what we want and more. They have a to go window. It is a small place and it is perfect for teaching my daughter manners at a restaurant without worrying that everyone is staring at us. We have gotten to know most everyone working there. They give you more food than you can eat. It is always nice and flavorful. The restrooms are clean. We have not found anything we did not like there. My husband loves the shrimp dishes. Sometimes my daughter even eats the tacos, other times it is chicken strips. read more

I had lunch here today. Pork chops with Spanish sauce beans rice and guacamole. Very nice, my complements to the chef! The waitress was pleasant, the meal was served in a timely manner and was quite tasty! I'll go back! Very good place so far! Thanks to all who work ther! read more
