1/2 portions charged at FULL PRICE

IFor years my coworkers and I had been eating at Jambro's for a couple of years both the old Prichard location as well as the Westside. I don't know what happened with this new ownership and new people? The FOOD & SERVICE has since declined to the lowest form. They open at 11am, I arrive at 11:45 and they have no Jerk Chicken or Salmon ready and this happened my last 3 attempts to get food. They do not seem to care about customer satisfaction and more of a take it or leave it mentality and I'm choosing the latter! Our favorite place to eat has turned into a joke at work! 1-15-2026 gave Jambros another chance and the results were worse than ever. We received child size portions to say the least, chicken was extremely dry and possibly from the day before. I called and spoke to a Manager he asked for pictures and promised to get back with me. He never did. Look at the pictures of the food I ordered and tell me what you think. For you the owner to respond with a LIE stating that you take ownership itself is a LIE when I personally called and spoke with you on 1-15-2026 about the less than 1/2 portions that you sold me, sent you pictures and never heard back from you! So you standing behind your product and service is a LIE.

I came in straight from work, got 1 plate of jerk chicken and some Pattie's.... Wound up taking another plate home so the family could enjoy as well. The jerk chicken is so tender and perfectly seasoned and chargrilled. The restaurant is got an island vibe with some island music playing in the background (not to loud, but just enough to finish the vibe of being transported with every bite. I swear... if this place was beachfront or like it's own standing building with an outdoor tropical place... you would definitely think you got transported. It's super clean including the bathrooms. The owner is filled with joy everytime I saw someone walk in/leave. My server was Lucy (she's also a bartender there), if you go.. ask for Lucy (she work the later part of the week), tell her Trisha recommended her With the quality of food, the cleanliness of the restaurant, the amazing service that I received today... this place is going to be a neighborhood favorite without a doubt!

Whats better than supporting your own people, Caribbean it was. Ordered a Jumbo oxtail plate and a regular jerk chicken plate. Picked up the order bag was tied and ready to go. We left came to the house and opened them plates. Pure disappointment. I think the restaurant did this because the food was already paid for. EVERYONE WHO EATS HERE AND ORDERS ONLINE, HAVE THEM UNTIE THE BAG AND SHOW YOU YOUR FOOD. How does a Jumbo oxtail plate look like a regular plate? If i order extra gravy i want the gravy from the meat i ordered. Not a jarred sauce. My cousins jerk plate was dry as h3ll. I asked him has his plates in the past looked dry? He said no, he mentioned that his past plates the chicken is juicy with tons of gravy. Very disappointing for a black owned restaurant. I dont want to blame the restaurant as a whole as we know how the food comes out based on how the chef is preparing plates. The chef for September 09, 2026 was not hitting and needs to be reevaluated. I have let my family know who frequents this place to put that on pause. My cousin is already hesitant about returning. And i know when i return next year i definitely will not be back. I should have taken pictures but didnt. Just know people check your plates before you leave.

The staff was so friendly and appreciative when hearing that it was my first time visiting. The waitress even brought out a sample of their goat dish. There was island music playing in the background to set the vibe, along with a map of the Caribbean at every table. My jerk chicken came out quickly and was delicious. The plantains were the perfect consistency, which is important to me because some places dry them out. I asked for a side of pepper sauce and it's quite hot, so consider yourself warned! While I was dining, the owner, Peter, came over and was chatting with the patrons. The ladies at the next table clearly knew him well, and I love that there are local relationships at the restaurant. It was fascinating hearing about his transition from the finance industry in Trinidad to being a restaurant entrepreneur! I only wish I had had had space to try the rum cake. It would be a joy to come back to Irie Diner and support a local business!
