Clean, professional vet place. We moved recently from LA to San Diego with our 12 year old husky (with a ton of medical history). They reviewed his medical file in advance of his first appointment and correctly diagnosed his ears. We're blessed to have found a vet we like on the first try. We have had our share of bad vet experiences.

We have been going to Jamacha Pet Vets for five or so years, since getting our rescue German Shepherd, Alaska. Through covid and two locations, we never once thought of switching to another vet after seeing what great care Dr Kirkpatrick and the team provided. Over the subsequent years we dealt with an aging Shepherd with a variety of pre-existing health issues, but the care and ongoing treatment we received gave our boy not only more years but more importantly. more good years. I see people occasionally mention they have treatments "pushed on them" so I would like to also address that here. We did a lot, and tried a lot, to keep our boy healthy and comfortable. However, we did not choose to do every single thing available but created a treatment plan with Dr Kirkpatrick that we felt was manageable for all involved. That said, I DID want to understand every potential, even impractical option under the stars in order to make the best decision possible even if we couldn't pursue them all. I appreciated understanding everything and never even once felt pressured to do anything that wasn't right for us. What I did value was Dr Kirkpatrick's honest and candid thoughts about what might work and what might not and helping us make decisions on care together. For the last couple of years we have been in the office every 4 weeks so in that time you get to see an operation and how it runs. The team has always been respectful, responsive, and caring, and there was never an issue we weren't able to easily resolve. Even toward the end when it was really hard to get him in and out of the car the technicians came to the vehicle to give him his injections along with a friendly pet and a manner that kept him calm and comfortable. Laura, thank you for always making it easy on me, you were Alaska's favorite so it's fitting you got one of his last cuddles. When it came time to have to make the hardest decision of all, my boy was surprisingly calm and in good spirits, I know it's because he felt surrounded by friends in a safe place; him being ok made it so much eaaier on me, too. Even that most terrible of days was handled in such a kind and seamless way that it made the unthinkable, bearable. I've written this long review today because it's the only small way I can pay it forward. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr Kirkpatrick (who is just a wonderful human) and his team to anyone, and I hope when the time is right I will be back to see them again.

This is my second, albeit late review. We said goodbye to our 16yo blind husky last year. Dr Dixon provided amazing care and allowed Freeman to remain as comfortable as possible his final months with appropriate pain management instead of worrying over what the pain meds would do to his lab work. Our sweet boy was able to go out for multiple walks each day averaging a total 3 miles. He was able to do the things huskies love right up to end which was so important to us. Before he got to the point of suffering (due to his cancer) we let him go peacefully. That quality of life Dr Dixon provided allowed Freeman to live life fully until the end.

My cat somehow hurt his leg or hip and was limping really bad and in lots of pain. Our regular vet was unavailable to see him today so I found Jamacha Pet Vets on Yelp and they were able to get me in same day within just a couple hours. They looked at my cat and offered pain medicine and said if he doesn't improve within a week it would be good to bring him back in for X-rays which I really appreciated not having to spend $500+ if it wasn't necessary. They got me in super fast, staff and doctor were very kind, I'm really happy with my visit today. They even administered the first pain med for me so I could see how to properly do it. I'll most likely switch to this vet now. Thank you for great service.

Been coming here since both my pups were 3 months old. They bend over backwards to work with my pet insurance company which is a pain in the arse to work with. Both pups have seen all 3 docs but Dr. K is super nice and have done surgery on both pups (spay and neuter). The gals up front are super nice and all the techs are awesome. Been to other vets and the other ones seem to try to upsell. Jamacha pet vets won't do that and will even calculate all possible treatments and allow us to choose what's right for our pups and our budget. I highly recommend them.

Hi there, I would just call the office and ask, they are very friendly and I highly recommend the practice :)

During the exam, the vet told me he'd never seen this before. I thought, "are you kidding me?" So, he said we ought to biopsy the lump to see if it might be cancer. At the time, I was concerned so I opted for this procedure -- at $550. As it turns out, the lump is not cancer, but a cyst. To treat the cyst, we have $21 of antibiotics. And, it appears this is treating the condition. However, I don't believe the vet when he said he'd never seen this. I think he knew he could "sell" us on the biopsy knowing that he could have recommended giving the dog the antibiotics to see if the lump improved. If it didn't, he said surgery would be recommended for the cyst or a cancerous tumor. So, what I suspect is this. While I'm sure it's ethical to do the biopsy, he could have tried the antibiotics first and then see how things go. My feeling is they are looking to "impact revenue" rather than offer a more conservative approach that might save money. I feel like we were taken in this regard. Rather than find ways to save you money, they seem to find ways to spend your money.

Before I left the veterinarian and her assistant told me that if my dog will have recurrent allergies before a year passed to call for more medication. After eight months, my dog started showing sings of allergies again. I called for refills, and they informed me that they would send a message to the veterinarian. After five days I called back, the person answering the phone told me that my dog needed a new evaluation and might need labs, and that the doctor was not comfortable refilling the medication for my dog. This person was very confrontational, cutting me off every time I tried to speak. I told her that I didn't need a year physical or labs for my dog. After I saw she was trying to force me to schedule another appointment so I could pay for things my dog doesn't need, I gave up. I told her that they were not honoring what they told me and that I would take my dog where they actually care for animals. She replied that that was fine and she would mail me my dog's records. I am very disappointed. I have been taking my two dogs to the Petco clinic for years; I even paid upfront for a year for one of my dogs to be a member. I regret it, and I am ashamed to bring business to a company that is just trying to dig into people pockets. I just paid them more than $400.00 dollars two weeks ago for my other dog. It was very bad experience, just a company that doesn't care for animals.

For weeks, I had tried everything I knew to help ease her irritation--scratching nonstop, patches of missing hair, clearly miserable. Nothing was working. A close friend highly recommended her veterinarian here and loved them so much that she insisted on calling to see if they could squeeze Sasha in. To my surprise (and huge relief), I was able to get a same-day appointment within the hour--which felt like a miracle. When I called, I spoke with Jerry, who was incredibly patient and kind as I explained everything I was seeing with Sasha. She reassured me and let me know Sasha would be examined by Dr. Luken, which immediately put me at ease. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted--and yes, Sasha too. Despite everything she had been through over the past few weeks, she was so excited you would've never known how uncomfortable she'd been. That alone says a lot about the welcoming environment here. One of the coolest surprises? They truly treat animals of all kinds. While waiting, I saw a bearded dragon (which honestly felt mythical )--like an iguana/lizard mix straight out of Australia. It was gnarly in the best way and reassuring to know this hospital is trusted with such a wide range of animals. You can absolutely rest assured your pet is in good hands. Sasha was promptly examined and given a clear, thoughtful treatment plan, including a shot, medication, and a prescription. Everything was explained thoroughly, and I never felt rushed. The staff here is beyond amazing--kind, warm, and genuinely caring, like family. I'm honestly not sure why this place doesn't have an even higher score, because they truly deserve it. I highly recommend Woodside Animal Hospital. They treat your fur baby like their own, and that kind of care is priceless.

Nothing and I actually called later that day and they said he would call. The next day I called again. I later received a call from someone who left a lengthy message that my Pepper had high values for kidney tests, and what I should do (change the diet and bring her back in 3 months for another test). Imagine my shock to get this type of message, something like that requires a 'live' conversation. That evening I left a voicemail asking to be called back the next day. Nothing! I am very disappointed in the lack of concern for me as a parent, that the vet's lack of customer service and empathy indicates the climate has changed at this vet hospital.
