I checked out several places that sell hearing aids and felt a doctor was in my best interests. The hearing aid stores feature no charge tests. Nothing is "free" for a reason. You go to a dentist, he/she charges, you go to an eye doctor for an exam, he/she charges and Dr. Staverman is not a salesperson, but a real professional. The exam took over an hour; thorough and complete without any doubts. Fully explaining my hearing loss and giving me valuable insight into hearing vs. listening. We made an appointment for a short time later so that my results could be matched with my hearing aid needs. I followed up and went to the 2nd meeting and was fitted with a proper hearing aid. WOW, what a surprise: hearing and listening! Sent home with follow-up in 30 days! Upon revisiting the Doctor, I knew that the aids were correct and life was better. Only after complete satisfaction was I billed; what a difference! I wake up each morning and look forward to a day of hearing! I have several friends with hearing aids and when I relate my experience they are amazed with most not wearing their aids due to discomfort. Not so with my experience. I have been going to physical therapy on the Northside and am not happy with their services. First,…read morebecause this location does not have a lot of patients, they are constantly moving the staff around to other locations leaving this location with no consistency on who you will see or even who will check you in. You do not ever get the chance to get comfortable and build a sense of trust with the staff including the physical therapist. You have to constantly give them your medical history and explain why you are going to physical therapy and where you are in your treatments. Second, you may or may not work with an actual physical therapist. On two separate occasions I was seen by a CNA who just read off of a sheet on what she asked me to do. If I did see a physical therapist, he had other patients he was working with at the same time and I often had to wait between exercises before he could continue with me. Third, you do the same exercises over and over again. Once I was shown something, I did my exercises at home so going to an appointment where the do the same thing is a waste of my time. Fourth, I had an appt scheduled on Monday, but I got sick over the weekend and contacted my primary care physician and was able to get an appointment that was at the same time as my physical therapy appointment. I immediately called them as soon as they opened and they would not waive the cancellation fee of $50.00 regardless of the situation. I was advised that I should have called over the weekend and left a message to reschedule my appointment. Last, they are quick to charge me a late fee, but I had to wait to be called back at least 30 minutes for every appointment I went to. I would not recommend Coastal Physical Therapy on the Northside of Jacksonville, Florida (Dundas Dr).

I have some old sports injuries, that flare up from time to time, and lately I've not been able to get them under control. One of my therapist recommended Andrew and Take Control Physicsl Therapy, because one of her other patients had a very positive experience here. I trust her, and now I trust Andrew because he took the time to explain to me what needed to be done what movements I needed and how I could be injury free going forward. He focuses on the McKenzie method, although he has other modalities available to him and he is a BOARD-CERTIFIED PHYSICAL THERAPIST. That means that he passed the most rigorous test common is the master of his craft. The McKenzie method focuses on movements that help alleviate pain, and they do so with less appointments than you would have to go to a traditional physical therapy routine or you're one of three or one of four people that are getting addressed at one time. Andrew's method is 101 you have his full attention and he encourages you to keep in constant contact with him to let you know how you are doing. My experience with him was fantastic, and after five appointments, I was pain-free. Actually, I was pain-free after the third appointment, but I had some long drives and being cooped up in the car is not necessarily good for your back posture. He really believes in his methods come he really believes that you deserve to be pain-free and that's what he's dedicated therapy clinic.
