James charged me way beyond his quote, refused to itemize the bill for me, and then began calling me names and threatening me.
We hired an architect to draw up plans for our basement so that we could get exact quotes from our contractors. We hired James Electric as one of those contractors and they quoted the job. We were surprised when the bill came back much higher than originally quoted.
Also, the electricians forgot 3 lights that were on the plan. They charged us a trip charge to come back for their mistake, and added on the lights to the invoice. When I brought this up to them, they refused to even consider that it was their mistake even though I had highlighted it on the plan.
I asked them to itemize the invoice so that I could see where the additional charges came from. I would have been happy to pay in addition to the quote if I saw the charges. I never heard from them until 3 months later when they sent me yet another invoice. I called to talk to the owner- Jim. I told him I'd like an itemization of the bill and he began yelling at me, refusing and telling me he would send me to collections.
