We had the amazing folks at Spark Shark come and do some ceiling fan installs. From start to finish it was so easy! The crew came on time, did a walk through to explain what would be involved and then finished the work in less time than we expected. They even made a quick return visit to correct an issue with the weird way our wall switches were wired. At the end of everything, they adjusted our estimate down a little because it was less work than they expected. The quality of work is not at issue. And Dan is generally polite with reasonably fair pricing. So if you have no timeline or deadline and just need it done whenever he feels like fitting you in, he's probably okay. But if you're like me, where communication is critical and you expect to be prioritized as not only a customer but a repeat customer, you won't get it here. You see, Spark Shark will prioritize commercial business over residential - clearly because they're throwing the big money at Dan. Which means if you choose to engage with him, you have a 50/50 chance of getting ghosted and your project delayed. Again: if you have no timeline, no urgency and no emergency, he's probably fine in a pinch. Meanwhile, I would tell any and everyone to choose someone else that actually values you as a customer. Even the plumber I used gave better service and responsiveness - and I don't think nearly as highly of that guy as a person as I did Dan - but that plumber replied timely and showed up on schedule, got it done, went above and beyond. That's what I expect, and that's what Spark Shark WON'T do if you're residential. read more

While installing a light fixture, I shorted an entire circuit area of our home. Searched local electricians. Based on SparkShark's website and review, thought I'd reach out for a bit of guidance via text. I had Spark Shark come out this morning to replace a large chandelier and ceiling fan (approx. 20' high) and could not be happier with the experience and their all around service! Nick and Kayla arrived on time this morning to do the installations and they shared the same qualities as Dan - Proffesional, Friendly, and Meticulous. I sent in a service request for an electrician to fix a problem in my garage that was preventing my garage doors opening. Within a few minutes Daniel got back to me and said that he'd be happy to do the job. He sent me his info and terms and that he'd be able to be here in 3 days or earlier if possible. Today he called and said he would be able to stop by this afternoon. He was very professional and was able to fix our problem quickly. He explained exactly what caused the outage in terms that I could understand. When he was done I told him about two other problems I was having but they weren't urgent. One he was able to fix immediately and the other he reviewed and will be back next week to take care of. I was so impressed with the way he went out of his way to explain everything. His pricing was less than I expected especially considering he went out of his way to get here in one day because he knew not being able to open my garage door was a huge inconvenience for me. We have had Dan (Spark Shark owner) work on two items in our home. The first was a minor bit of wiring troubleshooting for a 3 way circuit that was not functioning correctly. The other job was to install a set of 4 ceiling fans along with their electrical junction boxes. This included some minor changes to the wiring in each room. TL;DR Hire Spark Shark. Dan was very professional, friendly, upfront about pricing and work involved, and went above and beyond to meet our timeline. We had Dan come give us a quote the same day we closed on our new house. The previous owners took the washer and dryer with them, so we needed to buy a new set ASAP, but we wanted to buy an electric dryer instead of gas. Dan did a courtesy inspection of our electrical system and given our home's particular setup and electrical panel (and our plan to eventually add a car charger and induction range), he told us it would require upgrading our whole panel in addition to adding new outlets. It's also not cheap and takes about a day to install, so he gave us a few options to meet our budget needs, but we knew from our previous home inspection this would likely be the case so we decided to go for it. His calendar was booked about 3 weeks out for that type of work. We figured we would be going to the laundromat until he was available, but instead he followed up that evening with both a quote and letting us know he could squeeze us in that weekend so we wouldn't be left hanging. We really appreciated it! Dan and his colleague arrived on time and wrapped up sooner than we expected. They were very courteous and worked around us as we were moving our boxes in the house. Dan also made sure our oven's outlet would be ready for an induction stove in the future. They left everything clean and sealed up, and his work passed inspection with no problem. I'm the 9 years we've lived in our home, Dan is hands-down the friendliest, most professional contractor we've worked with. The electric to our detached garage stopped working. Dan came out and diagnosed and fixed the problem and let us know it would probably go out again soon because of the age of the home/garage. Sure enough, it wen out again a couple of weeks later. Dan was great, he came out again and made a plan for running new electric to the garage. We knew it would take a few weeks because the frozen ground, but Dan kept in touch on the progress/plan.
