Super versatile with lots and lots of potential for personalization. Multiple different areas with a variety of character. Gracie and her team were extremely helpful from the moment i first looked at the space to the day after the event. They have seasonal decorations that add to the beauty of the space. They are extremely flexible and worked with us to get the tables/decor/food setup. I cannot think of a better space for private events from birthdays to weddings. Highly recommended.

HIP at the Flashlight Factory may claim their "clients are not just another number," but their…read moreactions certainly prove that their clients are nothing more than dollar signs to them. Long story short, HIP notified my BFF via email only one week before her wedding that, to comply with the fire marshal's mandate, their venue would no longer be able to accommodate her wedding. Fortunately, the bride and bridal party were able to miraculously find another amazingly accommodating venue that same day, but HIP's handling of the issue was nothing less than classless. What was already a stressful situation was exacerbated by HIP's incompetent and unsympathetic actions, including (but not limited to): - delayed communication of the venue's inability to host the wedding - being unresponsive to requests to finalize details of the venue transition (yet still having time to post videos to social media about the situation) - trying to charge ridiculous prices for minimal venue involvement ($2,500 just to use the venue as a hotel and to take pictures there), - and claiming the rented tables were damaged when they were returned (even though they were already damaged when provided in the first place) just to be able to keep the $500 deposit We're so thrilled that the wedding turned out well despite the frustration of having to deal with HIP, but their behavior and attitude were completely unprofessional and, quite frankly, rude. If you're looking to have your big day at their venue, I'd recommend thinking twice. Give your business to people that truly have your best interests -- and not just your money -- in mind.

Don't let the name throw you (I thought it sounded like the name of a really bad dive bar)…read more.. This is a lovely venue for events such as weddings, showers, dinner/holiday parties and similar events. Located on Banksville Road it's easy to get there by car, bus, trolley, etc. They have an area called Backstage at The Boiler Room which is home to live music performances. The lobby is lovely and elegant. Heated four seasons porch, courtyard with fire pits, fountains and more. Food is standard fare for banquet hall facility. Though standard fare everything is served cooked to perfection. Meats are juicy and tender, pasta not over cooked, sauces flavorful and not dried out.

After being there, I just have to let people know what they are missing out on! First of all, there is ample parking, a rarity in Pittsburgh. Second, location. Just outside the Fort Pitt tunnels and slightly down Banksville Road, it is minutes away from the city, seconds from two hotels, and within 45 minutes to an hour of the airport. (Note: If you are going for the first time, be aware that it is not on Banksville Road proper, but on an extension behind the Days Inn.) Now for the space itself. The parking lot is slightly rugged, but I think the overall ambiance makes up for that, especially since they offer valet parking. There is a sweet little gazebo on the lower outer level, which looks as if it could be a great photo spot. The upstairs features a ballroom with a raised platform, a multi-use room with a beautiful marble bar (and efficient bartenders), and a stunning covered porch area. There are screens throughout which can be used for slideshows or, as we used them, to keep updated on the Oscars throughout the evening. I did not get to look at the downstairs area, but given the quality of the rest of the venue, I'm certain it would not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at this venue and will keep it mind for future event needs!

Parking wasn't bad - we found something across the steeet (on street parking). There's also a lot behind the place. I'm guessing this fills up, fast, but we got there fairly early. They opened the doors on time - at 7pm - and we weren't in line too long waiting for our ID check and wrist band (they could use more than *one* poor guy doing this, btw). I don't love this segregated/upcharge thing most venues seem to be doing nowadays, but at least the general admission SRO areas in this place have decent views. We grabbed a spot just behind the sound/lighting guys in the middle of the GA area. One note --- our friends who bought into the standing area right by the stage ended up joining us 1/2 way through, because they said the audio was blasting them. The place is nicely restored; has a good bar area with a better drink selection than many places we've tried in Pittsburgh. Hubs & I each got a hazy IPA, and he also got a big pretzel (which was ok - a bit too doughy for my taste). WOWZER those 3 things were expensive: **$43**!!! We decided to consider it a donation, so places like this can stay open, but oooffff. $$$$$$$$ Sound, lights were great. Staff were friendly. We'll definite be back.

Well, they had very cute tea cups and tea pots but the tea pots were just filled either hot water either the idea being you could choose which tea bag, yes tea bag, you wanted to have in your cup. So your cute little cup is at your place with a tea bag steeping in it. What is that???! Not a British High Tea experience. Super disappointing. Then the foods: flavors did not go well with each other. Everything was sweet. Since when are falafel balls part of a British High Tea? And, expensive!! Don't do it!

For $35 a person, we got a ton of food with delicious Tea Forté tea and a lovely set up with the cutest cups, plates, and teapots. They do high tea on the second Sunday of each month. Calling and making a reservation was super easy and they worked carefully to cater to any allergies or food preferences our party of 10 had (they switch up the menu each month!). They took my credit card information down ahead of time on the phone so all I had to do was sign the check at the end of high tea. There's also a large designated parking lot for patrons on an adjacent block. They took the time to show us their outdoor space and I can't wait to come back and check it out when it's warmer!
