It's actually irresponsible of me not to have done so sooner. This is a cool little gallery with lots of vibe. Every now and again they have exhibits with showing open to the public that are a lot of fun. Viewing art, sipping wine and meeting fellow artists, designers and art admirers is always best when in a welcoming environment. Even when they aren't having open exhibits you're able to pop in and have a look around and make purchases. Always something unique and eye-catching here. They've done it right. You could spend just a few minutes or easily spend an hour exploring all the nooks and crannies.. There is no parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking in the area. Walking Carson Street you wouldn't think to look twice while passing it. It honestly looks like it could be somebody's house. Much like some of the places that dot the street. The only reason we knew to enter here was that the door was open to the store. When you walk in you are greeted by an employee (possibly the owner). Very helpful she was, she also informed us that there is more merchandise to look at on the upper level and backroom. When she said upper level we assumed the four or five steps it took to get up to the platform from the main floor. Nope, we were wrong. The upstairs of the place had stuff in it. Remember back when I mentioned this looked like someone's house. Well, when you walk up to the platform area it's really the dining room. The backroom, really a kitchen. Upstairs, bedrooms with closets. Really odd, but also really unique for a set up for a store. Each room of the "house" was stocked with items you would find in that particular room. Napkins, pot holders and what not in the kitchen and so forth. As for the merchandise in here. Definitely one of a kind type of items. Photographs of various Pittsburgh landmarks, bracelets galore and just everything you could imagine an artist creating is for sale in here. Once I move into a bigger place I can guarantee you I will be coming here for some prints to hang on my wall. They even have some awesome items that make you think, "Why didn't I think of that before?" I also imagine if Pintrest was a store, this would be what it was based on. I examined some of the items and then thought to myself, 'remember this, you are going to try and do this yourself at home.' Prices vary, but you have to remember you are paying for the artist here. I assume most the revenue from the prices goes back to the artist that generated the abundance of items in here.

While browsing the Carnegie farmer's market I came across a vendor who had this store's goods out…read morefront on a table for sale. There was a nice assortment of things to choose from including fingerless gloves and beautiful pottery mugs. They told me if I want to see more then head into the store. I did just that and got to meet up with the owner Eva and learn more about the business. Various artists from all over the country contribute their wares to this shop and some are even local. You can find most anything here from crafted "aliens" to wooden Nativity sets to various types of jewelry, glass, pottery and of course beautiful paintings that adorn the walls. Even Eva herself has some of her own works for sale here. There is so much to look at. She also told me some of the artists do charitable work and you can purchase things such as "cuff" bracelets that will signify the artist who created the piece. The drink mugs were beautiful and some of them had Bible verses on them. I was admiring a green one with a flower on the handle and then I learned that she hoped to get more selection in from this seller within the next week or so. I decided to hold off on my purchase until I saw what was coming in. Some of the merchandise can be pricey but it all depends up the work that is put into them. For example an artist, she was selling had hand drawn images of a few of Pittsburgh's landmarks as a cuff bracelet. It's a bit pricey but she told me all the labor that goes into making the design can be time consuming. They offer workshops and events from time to time. Most of the art is contemporary style with at least 20 different artists in emerging to mid career levels. Check out their on line shop if you want to learn more or make a purchase directly from your home. This shop is currently open Thurs-Sun only and of course you can walk in when the farmer's market is going on. Am definitely planning to return here so I can browse more of the collection. My husband first noticed the store while we were driving through Pittsburgh, and when things changed with my father's plans for his art collection, we reached out to Bill for guidance. He couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. He took the time to consult with us, understand our situation, and ultimately took my father's pottery collection on consignment. He even came out to our storage unit in suburban Pittsburgh to pick everything up himself. Bill's shop is in the Strip District, and based on our experience with him, you can tell he genuinely cares about the art and the people behind it. We're incredibly grateful for his professionalism and compassion. Highly recommend.

PAP is an artists' co-op, so the artists share overhead and work hours. Since Pops is a member of an artists' co-op, I particularly like to support them. And I was happy to part with my pennies here: husband and I picked up a great little whimsical piece of a moon-faced man to hang on a wall for under 15 bucks.
