All the pipes are inside a wall and insulated. That said, James and Michael responded within 24 hours which is a rarity in this area and I really appreciated the promptness. The remedy was a surprise at $600 and the service charge of $96 was even more of a surprise. In short, I wanted to give it some thought. I'm also a strong believer in a second opinion although it's hard to compare "apples to apples." Although a good friend recommended Boot's I had not used them before and perhaps the trust issue was a factor although I had no reason to not trust their opinion of the remedy. Quite coincidentally, a plumber I've known for 25 years was in the neighborhood and stopped by that same day. He fixed the issue, albeit temporary in all likelihood and had the shower running in minutes by simply placing the pipe back in position. Used the shower that evening without incident. In closing, I can't say anything negative nor would I, because they really didn't do anything. Why should I have to pay them to give them my business!!! So I pay $125 for them to give me an estimate on non urgent work, then I decide their price is too high and I'm out $125 for what?! Just call someone else. This is a terrible customer service premise. I can see exactly how they feel about their community.
