She recently started to offer Shockwave Therapy and so we gave it a shot and also added custom orthotics. I am so happy to say that it worked!! I am thrilled that I can finally get back to normal life and enjoy walking again. If you are having any kind of foot issue or pain, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Schafer. The problem is we got caught on Harlem Avenue with a train and then we could not find parking. We arrived at the office at 11:03. When I got there, they told me they had called me that she was overbooked. I looked at my phone and I wanted to show her. I had no missed calls at all so I don't know what number she called ? The receptionist said that she was going to try to squeeze me in, but the doctor would not see my mom. Since she was 91 1/2 years old you think she would've made an exception. But no, I even told the receptionist sometimes when we have to wait a half an hour for a doctor that's OK but when we get there in time for the appointment not earlier, they will not see her. I understand they wanted us there a half an hour earlier, but things will happen just like when they were late with their appointments. I will never come back to this location again very dissatisfied. They should not overbook, obviously they were overbooked. That's why they tried to call me in the first place very very disappointed.

Fair enough; I gave them $100 which they said would be returned upon payment from my insurance. A month later, I received an EOB from my insurance indicating payment had been made. I called the office to inquire about getting my deposit back and was instructed to call their billing office. OK, I can make a second phone call - it's $100 after all. But the billing office showed that the orthotics had been paid in full and NO BALANCE WAS DUE TO ME! So I called the office back and now I was told that their office manager wasn't able to talk to me, call back later. I called the following week and now she's in vacation. (Eye roll here). I called the week after that and kind of yelled at the phone rep because it seemed like the office manager was running a scam here. A few weeks later, finally, I received my deposit back. My second issue: they have one of their office staff make the casts for the orthotics and she did a poor job. The doc was able to build up the orthotics to properly support my foot/ankle, but now I have to wait until next year before I can get new, better customized, orthotics. I wish the professional had cast me so I could have had the proper fit from the beginning

My nail healed so fast and my toe nail looks great. This year I took my son to see her because he had an issue with a small growth on his toe. She took care of it and offered some advice. I appreciate Dr. Chon because she is caring and super knowledgeable. I feel that I can trust her opinion. Her office is in the Oak Park Arms building at Oak park and Washington.
