I regularly attend Belly Dance classes there, and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone who wants not only to dance, but also to feel inspired, empowered, and connected through dance. Victoria Bloom and Jhalimar Villaroel create such an incredible, warm, and inspiring environment that it's always a pleasure to come back, recharge with positive energy, and discover the beauty of Belly Dance.

The check-in person was super welcoming and told me about some of the other dance formats offered there. This dance studio caters to both children and adults. So you will see kids running around, which is ok, but I am not really used to. The class started on time. The instructor had great energy and encouraged us to have fun and do things our own style. I haven't been dancing in a while, so I knew it would be a good challenge for me. I really had a lot of fun. My only surprise is that the classes are only 60 mins. I think they ought to be 70 minutes to include a proper 5 min warm-up and 5-minute cool-down. There wasn't a lot of warming up in the beginning of this particular class. I've taken adult dance classes for years and I am used to something that include some warm-up movements to get the rotating joints going, like neck rolls, shoulder rolls, and hip and lower back movements. The class did include a relaxing cool down with stretching for the lower body and upper body. I plan to take more Hip-Hop style classes. They offer Cardio Hip-Hop, Beginner Hip-Hip and more advanced levels, Sensual Dance, Twerk, Ballet, Shuffle, Street Jazz and a lot more. I plan to try about 5 more formats and sign-up for one class for the summer session. I highly recommend this place!

The Tiny Dancers Team has been wonderful, professional, and accommodating - a true bright light in a hard year. Having these classes and camps to look forward to has been a joy for her and for us, and the studio has added a lot of fun to an otherwise housebound summer. I should add that for us, the excitement that the Tiny Dancers instructors create is about so much more than dance (though we LOVE dance). My daughter will be taking kindergarten virtually this fall - a decision that tears us apart, but that is necessary for our family. Through Tiny Dancers, our daughter has become much more comfortable with online learning - and for us, that makes all the difference. Before we started our Tiny Dancers classes, we were apprehensive about "online kindergarten" - now we feel much more certain that no matter how it goes, she'll be much more comfortable with the format than she would have been otherwise.

I've been taking adult open classes here for about a year and find that most evening and weekend classes tend to be crowded, so try a weekday daytime class if you can. There's street parking on Wisconsin Ave and side streets or discounted parking in the Giant Foods garage (remember to get your parking validation from the receptionist). While the faculty each have their own styles, all the ones I've taken from are top-notch instructors who were former (or are currently) professional ballet company dancers. I think I've finally figured out the five levels for adult classes, which are not as they're labeled, IMO: - Beginning 1. For dancers in their first couple years of ballet study, or who are rehabbing after not dancing for 1+ years. The teacher will explain ballet terminology. - Beginning 2. Not actually for beginners. Full barre and center combinations. - Advanced beginning. If tombe-pas de bourree-glissade-saut de chat is in your muscle memory. - Intermediate I. Dancers are doing double-plus pirouettes. Petite allegro can have jumps with beats. Combos are more intricate, challenging... and FUN! - Intermediate II. You'll see some dancers en pointe, and pros occasionally drop in. The class moves fast, where the teacher doesn't even have to fully demonstrate the combo yet everyone knows what they're doing. Fouette turns. If you're on the fence about which level to attend, I recommend trying the safer/lower level first, then moving up as you become comfortable. Overall, TWSB is a wonderful place to take ballet class in the DMV area!

Here is what you need to know: + Garage parking is free on Sundays + Tickets are sent electronically along with a helpful email and storybook pdf that helps prepare young children on what to expect when they go to the theatre + The theatre is truly intimate -- there is not a bad seat in the house (Trust me -- we were last row, on the side of the stage and still had a great view!) + Children's shows can be quite corny and cut corners when it terms to production value but not at Imagination Stage. I was really impressed by the quality of acting and the set of "Dory Fantasmagory." + They offer lots of free programming such as "Meet the Cast", family yoga, and a children's fashion show to go with the play. I went with a group of children ages 4 - 11 and they had everyone entertained. Seeing everyone's faces light up and laughing out loud has truly filled my cup of cuteness for the entire week. Thanks again Imagination Stage. Can't wait to visit again!
