Ferocity Dance Company is a dance studio in Falls Church. It occupies the basement level of a building. The studio is a gem hidden in Falls Church. It offers dance classes for adults in many disciplines. I would say its strengths are bachata, because Kat Arias teaching what she calls "Fiercechata" and it really takes bachata to a whole new level -- there are more classes in other styles, and the instructors in these classes are consistently good. Quality of instruction depends on the person leading the class, but every teacher I've encountered has been friendly, positive, and fun. Ferocity prices are the best -- $10 for a single class. The best thing about Ferocity Dance Company is the sense of community and friendly demeanor of everyone there. Unlike some studios I've danced at, no one is snotty. The people who go there are friendly and have a genuine desire to learn from their teachers, their classmates, and their friends who are taking other styles of dance. I've also become a much better lead and made lots of new friends. Kat Arias and her team will break down the instruments involved in bachata and help you recognize them when dancing. Definitely a place to stay and grow. The studio is beautiful, clean, and well-mirrored (new word)? I met Kat at a restaurant she was giving dance lessons. I was impressed with the class she taught and asked if she had a studio. Fortunately, she was just opening one up and gave me her card. I made it out to a class and instantly felt like I was a better dancer afterward. Her classes are fun and informational. Unlike some places, she's patient and gives you constructive criticism in a way that makes you want to do it right to make her proud and not because you're afraid of the reaction. Her classes are a good mix between Dominican style and modern. I've always wanted to get some Dominican footwork in, but also didn't want to be left behind when I go out because a lot of people do more modern stuff. The classes have been a perfect mix so far. Prices are also great ($10/class, $85 for 10 classes). I'm they'll go up after more people start discovering her studio, so I suggest going now. Extremely glad I found this place. read more

Kat Arias has many dance teams, mostly Bachata teams. She is a great dance (specially Bachata) instructor and her Bachata dancing style is very sensual Bachata (in my opinion) :) ,although she teaches all styles of Bachata dancing! I am in her three Bachata teams among other teams. So happy that I am learning these Bachata dance choreographies from Kat. She is a beast that she simultaneously runs more than 10 choreographies!
