Hence being able to schedule * They don't hard sell things like electric toothbrushes (No, I don't want your $200 toothbrush, Precision Smiles!) * They don't charge for services that weren't actually performed (I'm looking at you, Aspen Dental ) * They work with your insurance to ensure appointments and services are covered * I actually feel comfortable and at ease with the deep cleanings and dental work that used to terrify me. For the first time in a long time, I didn't have a panic attack and start crying before a procedure. So that was awesome! Due in large part to Dorothy, the best hygienist I've ever been too! She's not only gentle, but so forth coming and honest with what's going on and what's needed. Thankfully, she can also carry a conversation alone! Lol! My dentist was awesome too, but I can't quite recall her name... maybe Dr. Sun? Most comfortable I've ever been during a filling! Feels weird that I'm actually looking forward to going back for my next checkup, lol!

I was not looking for a new dental office or a new provider. I was trying to maintain continuity of care with a clinician I already knew and valued. I am deeply disappointed that I am no longer able to continue care with her because of the way this clinic operates. The online intake process required completion of multiple mandatory questions that were not related to dental care or medical history. These included requests for my social media handle (with the stated purpose of tagging patients online), questions about hobbies and personal life experiences, and whether I wanted the office to pray for me. These questions were not *optional* and had to be completed in order to proceed. In my view, this type of intake process is inappropriate for a healthcare setting. Requiring patients to provide social media information for public tagging and including religious or prayer-based questions as mandatory intake items crosses professional boundaries and raises serious concerns regarding patient privacy, consent, and professional neutrality in a healthcare environment. Patients should not be required to provide personal, social, or religious information unrelated to their care in order to access dental treatment. Because of this experience, I chose not to proceed with care and canceled my appointment. Intake practices of this nature may warrant review by appropriate oversight or professional regulatory bodies to ensure they align with expected standards of patient privacy and healthcare professionalism. Based on this experience alone, I would encourage other patients to carefully consider whether this practice's approach to intake, privacy, and boundaries aligns with their expectations before scheduling.

While I was signing in, the receptionist was speaking to someone else regarding their insurance - no problem, you're busy, I get it. However, I wasn't able to speak to her because of that and decided to sit down since I had signed in anyway. Surely she'd check the clipboard eventually since she also saw me, right? Well, nineteen minutes later passed - now 12:13 pm and I still wasn't even acknowledged. I go to the front desk - no receptionist. Okay, I'll wait, I think to myself. Five minutes passed and finally is when the receptionist comes back - now 12:18 pm, 24 minutes since I've arrived at the facility. I tell the receptionist that I arrived at 11:54 am and now, 12:18 pm, have still not even been acknowledged and instead have to go to HER to get some sort of acknowledgement. (I know that she hadn't even checked the clipboard even though she saw me from when I arrived because when I went to the front desk to wait for her to come back, the blue label still hadn't been ripped off.) She apologized and relayed to me that there were call outs that day. I asked her if I was going to get charged for "missing" this appointment even though I was in fact present - since the consent forms online before you get to the appointment did give a discretion that patient's might be charged for a "missed", "reserved" spot. She assured me not. But during this exchange, while mentioning that I had not even been acknowledged even though I arrived almost twenty-five minutes before, and mentioned that I signed in to the chart WHILE she was talking to someone else, meaning I couldn't talk to her face-to-face while signing the check-in chart, her demeanor changed and she immediately got an attitude with me where she no longer looked at me and remained looking at her computer. I could tell that her demeanor changed. I asked her for her name - she said it was Nancy - and asked her one more time if I was going to get charged and she replied "no, sir." I asked her "did you just call me sir"? She goes "yes, or no, ma'am, whatever." I asked her to speak to her manager and she said that there was no leadership there today and that manager "Lex" was going to be there tomorrow 11/12/24. I left. It's one thing having to wait for an appointment after being acknowledged. It's one thing when multiple people call out - I've worked in retail, I know what that's like and can completely understand. It's another thing entirely to have the receptionist give YOU attitude when you're the patient and then disrespect you even though SHE dropped the ball after NOT taking a look at the sign-in chart even though she physically saw me sign it, NOT acknowledged me still, and STILL be away from the desk for five minutes (from when I got there at 12:13p and waited until 12:18p). She said her name is Nancy. If she lied or gave me a bogus name, it was the receptionist who was working today, November 11th 2024, Monday, Veteran's Day. I would love to speak to the manager, still, of this facility to complain directly to them regarding Nancy's behavior. Thanks.

He answered any question that I could come up with (that's a lot) with ease. I was so happy to have found a dentist that I really like, for the first time that I can remember... but that's where the horror started. I kept getting notices that I owed them money. There was no reason that I should have. I left them fly, figuring insurance was taking a while to pay. I called a couple of times, believe I was promised calls back and that they'd take care of it, but they never did. So I waited until just before our next appointment (my girlfriend was not on my dental plan - I took her, essentially referring another customer, remembering the initial experience). I called them at least a week before, after calling through to my insurance company and back and forth to get things figured out - you know, the work that THEY should be doing, not me. So I gave them all of the info, and they said it was fine. Also, my dental coverage changed (still same workplace and insurance company, but new plan). I gave them that information and told them to make sure that I'd be covered and that I didn't want the same problem with getting bills for six months. They ensured me everything would be fine. But that was BULLSHIT. Sorry to curse, but it's true. We both went in. I had a cleaning, and my girlfriend had X-rays, concerned about something that she was told she had a few years ago (cavities), but they had magically disappeared. Sounds like Coast Dental is a scam and needs a lashing from me as well (they're next). I believe she also had a cleaning... that's what the bills tell me. I had given them two stars, but thinking about this just gets my blood boiling. No matter how good they are, a business shouldn't do this to a person... So before I knew there was going to be another problem, they scheduled us for January. I came in, knowing there would be a problem and not intending to have my appointment. I saw there sheet, and they apparently didn't have me on the list anyway (I left a VM for them about the situation on Friday when they were closed, maybe they did get it, or just took me off as a payment issue)? Either way, there was no communication about that. So I told them what was up. I told them about my prior experience which they were familiar with (it was the same person who I spoke with on multiple times, and also had left angry voice messages for way in the past with the first incident). I told her that it was their job to check my insurance, and I was assured there would be no problem. If they weren't going to check, they could have told me, and I would have done so. They said that their policy is that they take no insurance, they're on no lists, etc. What BS. If they told me that before, I would have done my homework and made sure it'd be taken care of on the new policy. That morning, I explained that I had a great experience the first time, and that I was willing to come back when my insurance changed, but otherwise, I would never come back. EVER. She seemed like she wanted to fix the issue and took my number and stated she'd talk to the doctor about the bill and guaranteed a call that day. I never got one. And I know she had my correct number because I saw her write it, and also they have it on file. That's not the first time I've been promised a callback and not gotten one. So if you're paying cash (who does), they're probably great. Otherwise, good luck. Do your homework and be prepared to get some bills. I wouldn't be happy, but maybe OK with paying a portion of the bill, but I think that they should really think about customer satisfaction, and things like the fact that I'm going to post a scathing review and take care of it altogether. I talk to people. The person who referred me will hear about this when she has a toothache. Along with anyone else in the vicinity who might go there. I'll try and update if they fix this problem. They really have promise to be a nice business if they get their stuff together. EDIT: Udpdate - they never called me back, but I did receive a bill for $14 and (relatively) happily paid it. Haven't gotten any bills since, and it's been at least a month. I'll give em an extra star. They'd be a solid 3 or 4 if it wasn't for all of this...
