So we often come here on Friday nights for Team Tune Trivia. And we always have a good time but lately the service has absolutely tanked. We walked in tonight at 6:30 and we knew it would be a busy night and we knew we had a larger party (8 of us). First thing was that it took more than 20 minutes for anyone to come and take our order and that only happened because I had to flag down a waitress who went and found our waitress. Our waitress finally came and we gave her both drink and food orders and told her how the checks should be separated. We didn't see our waitress again for over an hour and fifteen minutes when she checked on us to see if we needed refills (we absolutely did). We asked her about our food and she said that they were working on it. It was another 35 minutes when we flagged another waitress down again to see if she could find our waitress so we could ask about our food again, and our waitress told us she would check and we asked her if she could come back with a status update. She sent a different waitress back with a status update. Two + hours after we ordered we got our food. I get that they were busy but this was ridiculous especially since tables that had come in after us were already done eating. Then came the checks. Except they didn't come. And didn't come. 15 minutes after trivia was over our waitress came to our table and asked us again what everyone had so she could redo our checks because apparently she lost them? So yet another ten or so minutes go by at which time a different waitress see us standing with our coats on and they ask us what's up and we tell her, so she goes and gets our checks and brings them to us. We never see our waitress again. I think we will be looking for a different venue for Team Tune Trivia from now on. The only reason for the second star is that I actually find the food decent. We were the last people in the restaurant except the people at the bar. This never should have happened. read more

The food is good for bar food. Highly recommend the fish (best I have had lately), chips are a bit soft and soggy though. Potatoes are fresh cut but need to be soaked to destarch for crispy consistency. This place has opportunities for improvement. If you check it out, take ear plugs and don't plan on meaningful conversation because the music exceeds 80 decibels. It is far too loud for all guests and requests to tune it down are not honored. Friday night music trivia nights are the worst. The trivia guy is very loud and his game sucks. Plenty of televisions. but not a lot of variety shown. They do have a mini game room but it is too loud in there. Service is hit and miss. Bathrooms are not the cleanest. read more

My first visit here on Thursday nite with some friends for Trivia. I had several draft beers, the Jim's Way Fish Sandwich with Saratoga chips, a salad, a small bowl of vegetable beef soup, and a brownie with ice cream for dessert. The soup was kinda thin and meh, but everything else was OK. This was our server Hannah's first day and she was fantastic. Very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. She will be a great asset here. Trivia is part of the Last Call Trivia network with other sports bars locally. We had a high-top table with some sort of shelf to accommodate those like my wife who have short legs and don't want to dangle their legs--this was appreciated. The atmosphere was pleasant, with all different sports games playing with this there wasn't a lot of background noise. Like most sports bars. Food was good with lots of it. Of course my opinion the fries were soggy ! Not crispy like kids like, can't dip them in anything because not strong enough to hold up. I had two kids with me and neither of these kids even ate their fries. And they are big fry eaters.. However they likes the chicken. Service was right on without hovering over the table. Food here is great. Highly recommend sliders, wings, and any of the sandwiches. Prices are great and service has always been top notch.

Second time in one week visiting this restaurant. This time tried the pizza, soo thin and crispy, I will be back for the pizza, for sure. Hubby tried the fried fish sandwich but forgot to order it with cheese so definitely recommend but don't forget to request the cheese! Also, double shot of vodka and a Stella. Can't go wrong with Stella! All the food came out so hot and fresh, even at 9:00 pm. The owner came over to greet us and tell us a little of their story and you can hear the voice. Excellent experience! Our server was very attentive & our drinks never got empty. There were 5 of us & we had a blast. We were there about 4 hours enjoying the atmosphere & watching the Winter Classic, outside hockey game! The wings were good size & one I'd had the strike out sauce. We were told by our server that it was extremely spicy! 2 of us tasted the sauce & decided it had a nice flavor. It did have a slight kick to it but wasn't nearly as bad as we told it would. The wings were delicious. The fried pickles were good, as well as the grilled chicken salad, Cajun fries, buffalo dip, & tater tots. The pizza oven was broken for over a month ? Do they go buy a used oven for a month. Then sell if when the reqular oven is fixed. Nope. They go without pizza for over a month ? Odd. Joined some other people at this place on St. Patrick's Day, service was a little slow (the place was kind of busy, but not crazy). My friend was not at the table when I placed my first drink order, and she ended up having to go the bar to get a beer. We placed a food order to share, food was ok, not great. The friends that we joined left and we stayed and each had two beers and cashed out. Another friend joined us so we we ordered another beer. When the server brought my friend's beer, she stated, "Just so you know, this is your last beer", and walked away. We were dumbfounded! I inquired to the manager as to why that would occur as neither of us were drunk by any means, and she stated, "y'all have been here since 11:00 a.m., we're not serving you anymore". We didn't even arrive at this place until after 2:30 p.m. When I corrected her on her time, she said too bad, my server says it's so. There were other people still sitting and drinking that were there when we got there, and for sure had way more to drink than us. I happened to touch her on her shoulder as I was telling her that we would be telling everyone we know not to come back if that was the way they were going to treat paying customers, and she flipped out - saying you better get your hands off of me, making a scene. I'm not sure what triggered this treatment, maybe because we cashed out and then opened a new check, but it is not acceptable customer service, we will never return! If I could give a minus 5, I would. There was no reason for us to receive that kind of treatment, we did absolutely nothing wrong. I've worked in restaurants my entire life, including bartending, I get how it works if someone has been overserved, that definitely was not the case. It's three days later, and I'm still appalled that we were treated that way. read more

Fantastic! Between my wife, daughter and I we tried the buffalo chicken dip, chicken quesadilla, chicken tenders, chicken wings and onion rings. Everything was fantastic! We stopped in here on a spur of the moment afternoon after leaving Harbor Freight next door to them. We just wanted to grab a quick beer. That place was awesome! We arrived for 7pm Friday night trivia at 6.30. We were a table of eight and were met with an annoyed greeter that activity encouraged us to leave. Once seated our waitress was very nice, but the service was very slow. Only one out of eight enjoyed their meal. I had a single burger ordered medium, totally over cooked and brown throughout. Fries not great, others at the table had salads that they were not happy with, pizza that was thin and tasteless. Best thing was the brownie sundae. Found this place searching for a bar to swing by after work for a quick drink with friends. I'm pleasantly surprised by the place itself. Really good food and a homey atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and even started telling us stories of "old Mason traditions" which by the way is drinking beer with olives in it. The bartenders are very attentive. Upon leaving, we looked inside the windows and noticed the pool tables, then proceeded back in for a game of darts and pool. All in all we really liked this bar. We have gone to James' several times and gotten take out from there in the past year. It has been one of our favorite Mason Sports Bars. Until tonight. We got take out wings and a 12 inch pizza. The wings were not freshly cooked. They were barely reheated and tossed in sauce. They did not cook our wings to order. We also ordered a 12 inch pepperoni pizza. The pizza box literally felt like there was nothing in it. The pizza was a joke. Thin crust doesn't even describe it. And there was no way possible it was 12 inches. This pizza was $11. If it had been high quality it could have at best been a $7.99 gourmet appetizer. But it wasn't. It was cheap, poor quality ingredients. It really shouldn't have been more than $5.00. We are highly disappointed. The choices made about when to cook/ prepare food, quality of ingredients, and serving size are not due to Covid issues. This is poor kitchen management. read more

We've been coming here for years. The beer is ice cold and the food continues to excel. The fresh cut french fries are the best in Mason. I give them 5 stars. read more
