They also said I had several cavities and scheduled a filling for the next month. I ended up waiting and going to my childhood dentist who has always been amazing and he said I didn't have any cavities, so I'm not sure what happened with this place. The reason for two stars instead of just one is because they were very helpful in getting the exact amount my fillings would cost from my insurance company. As someone who has tried to do that before it has rarely worked out well. I will definitely not be going back.

Our appointment was at 1:20 so I showed up at 1 to complete our intake paperwork. We were promptly ushered into our appointments afterward. The office staff was lovely and helped us contact our old dental offices for xrays (since insurance wouldn't cover them within 5 years) to help me avoid an unnecessary $70 fee. The dental hygienists were skilled and my son (not a fan of dental visits) was comfortable. He asks a ton of questions ("what is acid") and the hygienist was calm and patient with him. The dentist was prompt after my cleaning and the office staff was again very kind and quick to get me scheduled for my next visit and out the door. Overall, one of the best experiences I've had at a dentist office in a long time.

Clearly, they knew this before 1:30 and if they cared at all about honoring their patients' time, they should have called to say that they were running a half-hour late. If I were 35 minutes late, I would have had to pay $60 and made to reschedule. Second, the new upper plate I was getting that day was so, so far off from fitting, it was almost laughable. It was obvious just from looking at it that it in no way was going to fit my mouth. I have to wait to get a new impression made (in three weeks!) and then it will be another two weeks before the replacement will be ready. It's coming from the same lab that so royally screwed up already, so I'm not holding my breath. Third, in preparing a lower tooth for a bridge, the dentist had to drill away at a healthy tooth. OK, fine, that's how it's done. However, she left a quite visible, very sharp point that is now tearing up the inside of my check. I have to call tomorrow to see how fast they can fit me in to fix that, and then drive 80+ minutes round trip to fix something that should never have happened to begin with. All in all, I so very much wish I had continued to go to the U of M Dental School for my dental needs. Their work is perfection at every step, and MUCH cheaper than a practicing dentist. Had I done so, I would have had everything done and in my mouth before Thanksgiving, but I was trying to get someone closer to where I live. Big mistake!

While I have always found the front desk staff and dental hygienists incredibly friendly, the office business practices and my overall experience surrounding a dental crown left me unsatisfied with my care and a new anxiety around visiting the dentist. 1. Many people have mentioned their up front billing methods and constant attempts to upsell patients. While I cannot confirm that I was specifically overbilled for any procedure, I did feel like I constantly was having services pushed on me for extra fees. I also noticed at a certain point they stopped asking me about a flouride treatment that was an additional fee and just started completing the treatment and asking for payment. While this wasn't a massive strain on my finances at the time, it could really cause issues for patients who are on strict budgets from month to month. 2. I had a crown put on in March of 2021, in October of 2023 the crown fell out while on vacation out of state. I was able to book quickly to have the crown put back in but was frustrated with the brushing off my concerns around how quickly it seemed to have issues. When I returned for my normal cleaning a few months later I expressed my anxiety and fear of the crown falling out again and my concern about flossing around the crown pulling it out. I felt the doctor dismissed my concerns without any real empathy and I left the office without feeling at ease about this. 3. When I was without dental insurance for a time and was not able to afford a visit due to strained finances they did offer me their insurance plan which was more than the cost of the cleaning. I'm not sure why they thought I could afford that but not the cleaning. They continued to refer to this and all of their services as an "investment" which for me personally felt gross (though this could be a petty complaint on my end). I have since been able to return to my longtime dentist and am much happier. I do NOT recommend this office, but I do sincerely hope their services and practices improve for the sake of their patients and staff.
