There is really nothing good you can say about getting dental surgery, but if you need it, I recommend going here. Dr. Sanker and his assistant were very helpful and accommodating, explaining the procedure and post-treatment options with me in detail, and reassuring me though every step of the operation. I was given clear instructions for postoperative care, and encouraged to contact them at any time in case of complications. The front office staff was efficient and super nice. Honestly, I chose this place simply because it was the first on the list of referrals from my dentist that had an opening, and I believe I lucked out. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go gulp some more Tylenol. read more

5/5 for care and care quality. However, the office staff needs to get their stuff together. I have never met a business so passionate about not getting paid, after 6 months of trying to our bill paid for a wisdom teeth extraction we have been given the run around multiple times. I have been sitting on almost $2500 from the insurance company paid to us to cover the insurances portion of our bill for 5 months, and despite multiple attempts to pay the billing department will still not return my wife's calls. I would appreciate if the business owner would reach out as the office staff can obviously not handle the task of collecting money for services rendered. read more

As a business owner I would appreciate someone letting me know their true experience. I came to Michigan Oral Surgeons asking for a consultation after getting a referral from my dentist. I was helped by a friendly woman with long braids and then asked to speak with another woman through the door to the right of the front desk. The next woman I spoke to had short curly dark hair with a mask on and was not pleasant to speak with. She seemed irritated and wanted to get me out the door as soon as possible. I felt her short answers were implying that I should know the answers to the questions I had about getting potential services here. read more

Drs. Fear, Hitchcock, and Lopez (the first two) may have names that sound ominous but becoming a patient here should relieve any fears. I had my first oral surgery about 10 years ago here. And now we are back for my oldest...(14 yo) to have several molars removed to alleviate overcrowding and to prepare him for orthodontics. Dalbert Fear is likely the best in the business.. At least from what I've seen. He is efficient, confident, and thorough. I experienced little to no pain and swift recovery for the two oral surgeries I had here. I'm anticipating the same for my son. Surprised that no reviews were done prior to now, given the volume of people I've run into over the years who've said they have been a patient of Dr. Fear and have had good experience. I've been a patient of Dr. Fear and his staff for years. I cannot begin to describe the amount of confidence I have in his skills and abilities. While most people suffer anxiety with oral surgery, I am always relaxed, and know that I'll be well taken care of, even when "heroic dentistry" is called for. Do not let all the positive reviews make you waste your time on coming here. They are rude and unprofessional. They have poor communication and refuse to call patients back regarding their appointments. They have completely inconvenienced myself and my dentists. With us being in a pandemic and work days being crucial to miss, just go somewhere else that will value your time. I, myself, looked passed all the bad reviews since there were so many good rated reviews; I figure there must be some planted reviews as well as incentives to leave a good review because this place sucks. Every single bad review I have read is accurate and there is a 90% chance you will deal with the same issues when coming here. Also, if you are black, don't even try. They definitely have some hidden racism going on. It's Ann Arbor so there are plenty of other places to get work done. read more

Everything about our experience was outstanding. When we came for the consultation the doctor explained everything and was not rushed. The staff was accommodating and professional. I'm a big PUSSY cat when it comes to anything medical and they did a great job, very swift and Dr.Fear had my 4 wisdom teeth taken out in roughly 20 minutes- it took longer for my mouth to get numb (inhaled the gas and gotten mouth shots instead of anesthesia) and it couldn't have gone any better.....would strongly recommend him to anyone, especially if you're a baby for any medical procedures like myself read more

Get ready to wait! I had a cracked tooth pulled and waited an hour and half PAST my appointment time. My son had two baby teeth pulled we waited an hour and 15 minutes PAST our appointment time. The hygienist was great and he is nice also but you only see him for a matter of seconds. Front office staff are rude and uncaring, and it seems that is how the doctors want them to act otherwise why would they put that glass up there so you cannot even talk to them unless they allow you to. It stinks b/c the people that actually work on you are good but by the time you get them you are so turned off by the whole situation that it does not even matter anymore. read more

I had my wisdom teeth pulled it was quick and I appreciated that. However when they walked me out no one gave me a prescription for pain meds after they assured me that I would be comfortable so I had to walk back in to get one prescription for tylenol 3, 10 of them. Two days later I called to tell the dentist I was out and that my mouth still hurt really bad he said take Tylenol and use warm compression. They definitely didn't make me comfotable. read more

After sitting in the waiting room for nearly an hour after my scheduled appointment time I gave up and left.

I recently had my wisdom teeth removed; they were impacted and had caused me pain for years. The entire experience was wonderful! When I called to make my appointment, I explained the situation (I was in pain and wasn't able to take off tons of time off work) and they scheduled me in even though they were booked over Christmas break. I had the consult and extraction done the same day, which was very convenient since I don't live close. I was concerned about the cost because I couldn't get an estimate until the doctor saw my teeth. I called back and the receptionist broke down every scenario depending on what my teeth looked like, and gave me all the estimates. I was shocked! I was on the phone for almost an hour while she crunched the numbers for me. I was warmly greeted and the waiting/patient room was clean and bright. The doctor came in explained the procedure and assured me everything would be fine. I felt very comfortable, the nurses were joking and laughing, with me, which helped ease my anxiety. The procedure went well, they moved me to a separate room and let me relax before releasing me. The nurse escorted me through the side door, to save me some embarrassment walking through the front lobby. Last thing, I did pay before surgery and was charged a very reasonable amount. Dr. Fasi was fantastic! My partner went to Michigan Oral Surgeons, Dexter for a molar extraction this fall. He had been fairly traumatized by his last dental extraction several years ago (resulting in an extra tooth having to be removed and 4 follow-up surgeries to close the hole between his mouth and sinus cavity). Needless to say he was not eager for another molar to be removed. Our consultation with Dr. Fasi quickly put all of our concerns to rest. He was incredibly polite and attentive as he reviewed my partner's x-rays with us and explained to us the difference between his previous surgery and the new surgery (different side of the mouth, less penetration of the sinus cavity as revealed on the x-ray, etc.) and took careful notes of my partner's health history including cardiac surgery, sensitivity to anesthetic, and other issues. Dr. Fasi explained every part of the pre-surgery prep, surgical procedures, and post-operative care in detail and he patiently answered all of our questions. The front office staff was great to work with for scheduling the surgery and addressing billing questions. And, although my partner did not remember much after the surgery, the information and care instructions I received from both Dr. Fasi and the surgical assistant was top notch with regards to details, etc. Excellent work in the Dexter branch of Michigan Oral Surgeons. read more
