Great service wonderful customer service and wonderful staff and great team work and appointments are always on time

I switched to Comprehensive on a recommendation from a friend after a new job's dental insurance was not accepted by my longterm dentist. While I have always found the front desk staff and dental hygienists incredibly friendly, the office business practices and my overall experience surrounding a dental crown left me unsatisfied with my care and a new anxiety around visiting the dentist. 1. Many people have mentioned their up front billing methods and constant attempts to upsell patients. While I cannot confirm that I was specifically overbilled for any procedure, I did feel like I constantly was having services pushed on me for extra fees. I also noticed at a certain point they stopped asking me about a flouride treatment that was an additional fee and just started completing the treatment and asking for payment. While this wasn't a massive strain on my finances at the time, it could really cause issues for patients who are on strict budgets from month to month. 2. I had a crown put on in March of 2021, in October of 2023 the crown fell out while on vacation out of state. I was able to book quickly to have the crown put back in but was frustrated with the brushing off my concerns around how quickly it seemed to have issues. When I returned for my normal cleaning a few months later I expressed my anxiety and fear of the crown falling out again and my concern about flossing around the crown pulling it out. I felt the doctor dismissed my concerns without any real empathy and I left the office without feeling at ease about this. 3. When I was without dental insurance for a time and was not able to afford a visit due to strained finances they did offer me their insurance plan which was more than the cost of the cleaning. I'm not sure why they thought I could afford that but not the cleaning. They continued to refer to this and all of their services as an "investment" which for me personally felt gross (though this could be a petty complaint on my end). I have since been able to return to my longtime dentist and am much happier. I do NOT recommend this office, but I do sincerely hope their services and practices improve for the sake of their patients and staff. read more

This is the worst dentist office I have ever been to. I did not need my wisdom teeth out because they came in straight, several years ago when this practice was newer Dr Bullard whom we loved, told me i had a cavity in one of my wisdom teeth and that she recommends just pulling the tooth no need to to fill so that is what I did and it cost me $17 everything was fine I go for a checkup and all of a sudden a different dentist tells me i have a cavity in a couple of wisdom teeth and that I also need to have fillings in other teeth replaced i mentioned just pulling the wisdom teeth and I got this oh we always want to save teeth crap and I believed the dentist and let them fill and it caused so much pain after i couldn't chew on that side it cost me $200 i had to go back 2 more times and she said i don't know what could be causing that we might have to do a root canal she referred me to an endodontist and after that appointment he said why didn't they just pull them? I was so angry and upset. DO NOT TRUST THIS OFFICE!!!! My daughter had a crown done here as well and they did a horrible job, she had pain and the crown would fall out I finally told her to find a different dentist she did and they fixed the crown perfectly they have scammed a lot of people out of money i should also file a complaint after reading other reviews read more

By far the best dental experience I have ever had. I could not get in to get my teeth cleaned at my dental office for months. I called Comprehensive Dentistry and got right in for a cleaning. Very impressed with this practice. ! My hygienist Meagan was the best. Very knowledgeable, professional and kind. I was very happy with the whole experience. My son just got his first job and had to find a new dentist, since he moved. Comprehensive Dental was one of the providers through his insurance plan. He made an appointment for a cleaning in May of 2024. He has had cleanings every 6 months since he was two years old and has two very small surface fillings. I got a very unpleasant phone call from him after the cleaning and he stated they told him he had 9 cavities!!!! They also told him he had gingivitis and they made him sign a paper that they told him he had gingivitis. The reason for them making him sign a paper regarding the gingivitis seems to be a psychological fear tactic. They also told him he needs to have his wisdom teeth out. Dr Ellsworth wanted to fill the cavities that day and did not show any X-rays or digital pictures of the cavities or gingivitis. This situation was very traumatic to my son, me and my husband. He was very upset. Their site says they have a "stress free, friendly environment ". This is not an accurate statement. My son knew enough to know not to have the fillings done that day and that we needed a second opinion. I scheduled a second opinion with our family dentist in NY 8/19/24. They are not a corporate dentist office like Comprehensive and they don't do unnecessary work just to get as much money from the insurance carrier as possible. Our dentist was shocked that they told him he had 9 cavities and the dental hygienist said all the cavities just disappeared. Our dentist also had x-rays from a year ago showing no cavities. He has one "tiny" cavity and it does not need to be filled soon. Our dentist showed him the cavity on a digital picture. He had one spot on his gum with some inflammation and he doesn't need his wisdom teeth out because they are not bothering him. He did buy their over priced mouth rinse. I had to pay for the second opinion 200.00 because of this fraudulent practice. This office is not trustworthy and is committing fraud. I would file a complaint with ADA if it was me. My son being a very nice young man doesn't want to file a complaint. I don't understand how a dentist would ever be ok with drilling into a healthy tooth. This office is about getting as much money they can get out of each patient. Unethical!!!! read more

Today was my first visit here and I felt extremely welcomed. Never have I ever had such a great experience coming to the dentist. As soon as I got home I bragged to my family about this place. I do apologize for not remembering the lady at the front desk's name, but she was so nice. Megan was so patient, friendly and so sweet with me when cleaning my teeth and assisting me. Very aggressive dentist/periodontist (they are not advertised as such). I went in for a routine cleaning as a new patient. After x-rays, an exam, and a tour of the wall of awards, I was told their recommendation was for scaling and root planing due to receding gums. Never has another dentist mentioned this procedure which would cost hundreds of dollars. I was informed that if I did not agree to this procedure that day, that they would not clean my teeth. So I left without a cleaning and my insurance billed for an exam. I would have preferred an explanation of their business model up front and an offer to revisit their recommendation in 6 months. I have since gotten a second opinion and very happy with my new dentist! read more

This dentist is just using patients as a means to defraud insurance company. When I went there in May for cleaning, I was overbill. I was only able to know this because I always look at my account with Delta Dental whenever I have any service done with a dentist. This facility wants you to pay right there so that you won't realize they overbill you rather than sending you a bill for the amount you owe. I had to call there office twice then finally sent them an email that I will get my bank to reverse the amount they charged me , before they quickly credit me back for the amount they over charge. The second incident was when I went back for another cleaning on 11/17/2022. They were trying to sell me services I don't need because they see from insurance record that they can collect money for these services. They were trying to show me the X-ray they took in MAY to convince me for these services but they forget they never mention any of these services in MAY. I know I don't need these services because I never have such problem in my life. When they realize that I will not go alone with this fraud they were trying to use me for, they said they can't do my cleaning unless I agree to these extra services they were trying to sell me. I left there office but two days later I checked my account with Delta dental to my surprise they sent a bill of $48 to my insurance which they were paid $37. I have already filed a fraud complaint with Delta dental. I just went to another dentist on 11/29/22 to do my cleaning without any problem. This dentist also did an X-ray for me and there was no problem . This was the confirmation I was waiting for before writing this review. I could have write it earlier than this. This comprehensive dentistry are the sort of dentist driving the cost of insurance up in this country because of all the frauds claims they use there patients for. The bottom line is that you need to stay away from this dentist if you are not ready to be used for there insurance fraud scam. They look at your insurance records to sell you services you don't need, then collect money from your insurance for these services. This is exactly how this facility operates. Secondly, don't ever pay them any money without checking your insurance account to make sure they don't over bill you. read more

They are just like any other dentist I have been to other than two things. Comprehensive Dentistry is full time into maximizing their revenue and their marketing is nonstop. Let's deal with maximizing revenue. They will slightly overcharge you and make no mention of it. HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE. If you check your insurance paperwork a month later, then good for you. If you don't, then they pocket the overcharge. Now if you did check like I did and called them on it, they said we can give you a refund check or a credit on your next visit. I opted for a refund check, got the check, and never went back. My wife opted for a credit. Lo and behold, they gave my wife an extremely hard time to use the credit when she went back for her next visit. She says she is never going back. Now the marketing is another story. If you have a new Dental practice, I fully understand why a practice would need to advertise. Once you establish yourself, word of mouth will suffice. This place has been in business for a long time and their marketing is nonstop. That should say something. They probably can't keep their regular customers. I have one advice to them. Stop overcharging and marketing and just concentrate on dentistry. Till then, my wife, my kid, and I are out of here. read more

I get it we just came out of covid. However, I have been a patient with CD for well over 10 years and I have never and I mean never received the terrible service I have experience this week. First I had an appointment on June 22nd which they called to reschedule. One thing I do want to point out is I purchased the invisalign for 3000 dollars and I was suppose to go back in March. So now I've been using the same invisalighn FOR MONTHS..... When they reschedule I mentioned the invisalign *=*****(no mention of it on their end****) WHAT!!!! So they moved me to July 9th I told them I wanted the invisalign guards removed from my teeth along with my normal cleaning. When I show up for my apt they said I was just getting the cleaning. AGAIN WHAT. So I ask for another apt they schedule me for the 10 first at 310 then 330 and then it turns out to be 420. I show up for my apt at 417. They finally seated me in the chair at 430. Then the dentist comes in I tell her I'm not happy with the invisalign and I want the guards removed and a refund. She leaves comes back in 15 and tells me I will have to call the office on Monday. WHATEVER!!! Then I sit there for another HOUR and 15 minutes. Come on my time is just as valuable as your time. I never saw the dentist again. I left. Do you think they called. Of course not. I think you have forgotten all the rules of customer service. What got you where you are today. VERY SAD.... read more

Each of my experiences so far with Comprehensive Dentistry have been top-notch customer service. All of the staff really strive to make their patients comfortable and well cared for. Do not waste your time or money coming here!!! This dental office is trash!!!!! They are dirty! I'm calling an inspector on this place! A hygienist attempted to put their nasty hands in my mouth WITHOUT gloves!! Besides that they are rude and ghetto and they try to upsell on every little thing. They must be pressed for money. Terrible experience. Showed up to an appointment they turned me away because my insurance did not kick in for another 2 days. They did not even try to set me up with a payment plan or suggest that I sign up with there in house payment plan. They just said come back when your insurance is in effect. I showed up to my rescheduled appoint at 7am . As I make my way to the entrance I see the receptionist walk away from me and head to the back. I am African American and feel I was discriminated against because of this. I say this because as the receptionist made her way to the back another patient walked in and sat down next to me. This patient was a Caucasian man. Eventually, she came back out but only addressed him, only spoke to him, and then actually called him to the desk before me, leaving me there waiting again. The patient knew it was odd and asked me "have you been checked in yet?" I replied to the patient "no" and that is when she called him to the desk and said to the dentist "your first patient is ready." Then she focused on me, I told her and a receptionist on the phone before my appointment that I had already completed all paperwork online. The receptionist on the phone said ok see you at your appointment. The receptionist that was ignoring me at the time of my appointment said they were having trouble with there online system and that they needed me to complete the new patient packet all over again. I was in pain and was feeling unwelcomed by the receptionist so I refused and said have a nice day. She said nothing. Terrible unforgettable experience. read more

So this place will blows up your phone if you opt-in for text reminders. Basically every day for a week prior even if you "C" confirmed. Then the day before called me and left a message wanting to reschedule my appointment due to a mistake on their end... now I'll let you know I wasn't able to answer but I knew it was them and said to myself if they are calling to confirm one more time I was going to just cancel from the annoyance they have put me through for another day. And after hearing the voicemail about rescheduling I ended up calling back and asking to speak with a manger to ask for a possible discount?!? I don't feel this isn't justified one bit, my time is worth money just like theirs!!! I feel just because I didn't have insurance is why I got harassed daily but when I spoke with a manager she stated that I could opt-out if I wanted, now I've done plenty of confirmations of appointments through texts and I have ever received more than one!!! As for the discount she would need to speak with the owner and get back with me but she ever called back!! Go figure... For all this customer service crap they rave about it funny how I fell through the cracks. read more

Finding a new dentist following a move from another state was a scary proposition for me, but I couldn't be happier with my decision to visit Comprehensive Dentistry. I appreciate the call a few days before and text appointment reminders to keep me on track. Wait time at the office is always minimal. They obviously run a tight ship and appreciate that a patient's time, as well as theirs, is valuable. The front office staff is always extremely courteous and the initial visit includes a complete office tour and patient interview, all designed to help make you feel comfortable. Before choosing Comprehensive Dentistry, I called several offices with a list of questions. I was looking for an office that would be helpful and sensitive to nervous patients. I got pricing information, studied online reviews and judged them on overall friendliness. One of the things I like best is that this is a private practice and not a franchise operation that might be tempted to "sell" me services or rush me through so they can see as many patients a day as possible. Based on my "comprehensive" research, Comprehensive Dentistry was the clear winner. There are several dentists in this practice and I've seen Dr. Bassil for more than a year. She is kind and attentive and a great dentist! I'm a happy patient! read more

Not Happy with Billing .I went to this office last year. For teeth cleaning.I received a bill this year for $354.00 .Stating past due pay ASAP. Told me she sent my bill to the wrong insurance company. Never tried to call me about this . I told her my insurance should have taken care of this last year. She explained they have a year to send it! I asked will this affect my benefits for this year when you bill my insurance. I was told it would come out of the 2017 benefits it did not. At age 40 I got my first/ only filling here. I went back 3 times for adjustment but that filing was never right. 3 years later I was at a different dentist getting a cleaning an the filing pops out. 3 years! Remember this is the only filing I've ever had in my life. I have pretty healthy teeth. Turns out they never got all the cavity out, or there wasn't a cavity until something got under the loose filing and I now needs a root canal! Yeah, not happy about that. Also, comprehensive dental told me I had 5 more cavities! When I asked to see them on the X-ray I was told they're so small you can't see them. I asked you can see them in my mouth? Nope. They wanted to start drilling the next week. I went somewhere else and they said there were NO other cavities. I cannot recommend this dentist highly enough. An extremely personable staff, incredibly skilled practitioners, and a state of the art facility. Seriously, I had been so traumatized by my last experience with a dentist that I didn't go for another cleaning for 16 YEARS! Comprehensive Dentistry completely turned that all around. Just left the Comprehensive Dentistry office where my 4yo had a routine exam and cleaning by Amanda and Dr Bullard. My daughter literally had a ear to ear grin as we left, and THANKED ME for taking her to the dentist! Everyone in the office was extremely friendly and welcoming. Amanda took great care with the exam, allowing my daughter to inspect all of the tools and explaining what each of them did throughout the exam. My daughter's teeth look great, and I'm glad she had such a positive experience to help her solidify a lifelong practice of good dental hygiene! read more

I was very anxious about needing a procedure. I've had negative and awfully painful experiences with other dentists, and dreaded coming in. The staff and Dr. Bullard quickly assuaged these fears, did a great job with the procedure, and made me feel comfortable throughout the visit. I've already recommended this office to friends. I chose this particular dental office based solely on customer reviews, and didn't know anyone who was a patient, so it was a gamble. The staff members are friendly, the waiting room is clean with plenty of new magazines and there is a Keurig so you can make coffee or tea while you wait. The wait wasn't too long, maybe 15 minutes at the most. Dr. Bullard explained clearly what work she would like to do with my teeth, and they took a look at my insurance to make sure it would be covered before going forward. My sister flew up from Georgia to visit me and her family for a week here in Ypsilanti. No sooner had she arrived than one of her front dental crowns came off! It happened on a Thursday evening. I called my regular dentist Friday morning to see if they could help her but they were closed that day. So I searched on YELP and found this practice with great reviews. I called and they we're willing to work her into their schedule that day! Once she arrived, the office receptionists treated her with the type of warm concierge customer service that one expects to receive at a spa! After a brief wait, she was taken into the examination area by a very friendly and professional dental assistant. She asked questions about her problems, listened carefully to answers then related everything clearly to the dentist! Dr Bassil evaluated her problem professionally and was sensitive to her needs and requests; the Dr. even wrote a letter for her to give to her dentist back in Georgia to advise him of her treatment decisions. The costs were very reasonable. In summary, our experience was wonderful and very worthy of a five-star, super service rating. There is a HIGH probability that I will be switching to this practice!! read more

Short of my childhood dentist who I worked with for over 20 years, I have not encountered a better dental office than here (and I've been to a number). They are so kind and very welcoming. They really care about your comfort and offer you a number of items to make your visit more relaxing. The hygenists and dentists are very knowledgeable and pretty personable. Going to the dentist has never been better. The staff went above and beyond to make my experience comfortable. They informed me of all my options for service and even have a survey of what matters most to me, as a patient, rather than the usual status quo for all patients. The facility is pleasant and relaxing (including massage dental chairs!). I can't think of anything that lacked for good dental care and communication. Highly recommend! read more

This was the best dentist appointment I have ever experienced. I chipped my tooth at work and admittedly start callling around. The receptionist was excellent and very helpful. She squeezed me in on short notice. Upon entering the office I felt completely comfortable. There were candles burn and a real down to earth feel about the lobby. I was given a tour of the office before I started my paper work. Which I thought was a great touch. I was shown Dr.Collens D Bullards impressive degrees which included graduating from University of Michigan school of dentistry and a Masters in human social work admittedly felt like I was in good hands. Once I was called I was introduced to a very bubbly blonde young lady. She was really nice and gentle. Before even starting she showed me a comfort menu. Which included a bottle water, tea , neck pillow and many other options. After my dental xray I was given a free gift for being a new patient which was a very nice travel thermos mug. After I met Dr. Bullard and her assistant. They were amazing and extremely gentle. After my tooth was whole again I was sent on my way. Later that day I received a thank you letter and two days later I got a follow-up phone call asking how I was doing. Oh and I forgot to mention they have a reasonable plan for people without insurance. Best of luck. read more
