Big Giant Warehouse sells canned goods, frozen foods, sundries and other household items at deeply discounted prices because the items are over expiration date, or came from stores that went out of business. You may not feel comfortable purchasing certain items that are over expiration date (I know I didn't feel comfortable purchasing 29 cent Lunchables that were a year over expiration), but canned goods last forever and frozen foods have a much longer shelf life. I was able to get aluminum foil for 49 cents, canned veggies for 49 cents each and a box of 20 granola bars for a little over $2.00. I believe they are open from 10am - 6pm Monday - Saturday. Maybe I can take my grocery savings and go out for dinner once a week now!

Restock day is Friday and this is the day to shop as you will likely find useful items. Any other days, finding anything useful is like finding a needle in a haystack. You have to sort out things that were dumped in these assembly lines. Expect to dig through piles of stuffs and spend 1-2h at Metro Merch.

They get some really cool stuff in and sometimes have really good prices. Shoes seem to be the most reliable find. Sometimes sporting goods, sometimes auto stuff..... just depends. The bad part is if the store they got from was WAY overpriced... and thus going out of business... the discount still isnt a good deal. Still worth the stop, just may take a few trips till you find a treasure.
