We love this place. It's been a couple of years since we gotten back and we can't believe how many changes they've made. They have two giant tented beer gardens along with a second bar on the inside a huge New stage in the beer garden for performances and tons and ton of seating all around, we brought our dog Jamison there since he loves beer and he was just diagnosed with cancer. I say that wholeheartedly because I witnessed a woman too drunk for anyone's liking get nasty with them because she was cut off. They handled it like experts and I'll never forget it. Low class place. Turned us away like criminals because we came in a transit van. The brewery was half empty. When we arrived, the security guy said we are at capacity, we can't let you in. Again, the brewery was half empty and at least 15 people were leaving when we arrived. The worst part is WE HAD A RESERVATION. They then suggested I was lying and didn't have a reservation. I did call several weeks prior to our visit and spoke to a lovely woman they took my name, party number and was made aware we were coming in a transit van. Very disappointing, will never visit here. It's been a while since I was here. Decided to come on a Thursday for some pumpkin brews with my friend. We both ordered Sugar Skull Pumpkin. A very yummy pumpkin beer. There isn't indoor seating anymore. I'm sure covid is to blame for this. After ordering our pumpkin beers the lady working advised us that we wouldn't get a refund if a bee/hornet went in our beers as we were outside. I've never been told something like that before and I don't feel it was even necessary to make a comment like that, especially being that indoor seating wasn't available. The tent outside is large with plenty of seating. However on a hot day like today it's very uncomfortable. They need to have fans or something to cool it down. More beers would have definitely been consumed/purchased if it was a more comfortable outside environment. read more

Fun vibe, nothing exceptional. $5 cover to get in which doesn't get you anything except entry. They don't do flights on the weekend which was a big disappointment. The one $8 IPA I had was fine but tasted like a mass produced beer (I'm a big lagunitas drinker and they were almost indistinguishable). With that said, there's plenty of seating and the women working were exceptionally nice. We also liked the fact that there was food available - a food truck with fairly overpriced and allegedly mediocre selections, and an oyster stand that was churning out affordable ($28/dozen) oysters that were some of the best I've ever had in my life. One of the highlights of my trip out this past weekend for sure. All in all, I don't think I'd rush back, but I had fun here and would go again if a friend wanted to go. read more

My friends and I have been looking forward to the opening of our favorite place for months. We have been patrons of Jamesport Farm for years, we were so excited to finally have a reopening date. Our excitement was immediately dashed when we learned it would be family friendly. We have frequented Jamesport because they provided an adult only drinking experience. It was like a playground this past Sunday, children on bikes, blowing bubbles, playing soccer, running up and down the cornhole boards. I usually don't mind places evolving, but my experience at Jamesport Brewery this weekend was disappointing. We paid a $5 cover fee to enter, which is unusual for the East End, but that didn't bother me. However, when I tried to order a beer, I found it was only available in a $25 souvenir cup, with refills at $10--not a great deal. Still, I was looking forward to a fun day. The final straw came two hours later when a bouncer told us we had to leave. I was caught off guard, still holding a full drink, and had no idea we needed a ticket for a new event. This wasn't mentioned when we paid the cover fee. It felt disrespectful to be asked to leave without warning, especially after spending money on food and drinks and letting staff take multiple professional photos of us for what I assume are promotional purposes. A simple heads-up or a moment to finish my drink would have made a big difference. Live music events leading to closures are uncommon, so it's unfair to expect patrons to know. I hate to share this experience, but it did put a damper on my day. I just wish the communication had been better. The East End is known for its laid-back vibe, but my visit felt more like a money grab, which was really disappointing. read more

A few weeks back I decided to go to a nice, well respected brewery called "Jamesport farm brewery" upon arrival I heard the music and saw the beautiful atmosphere which made me excited to enter, however I was stopped by the beer brute. She said I had to be a $5 cover charge, like I'm 16 years old going into a night club. I told her that it was stupid but she insisted. I eventually decided to leave because paying $5 on top of the copious amounts of beer I'm going to drink just isn't worth it. Great beer, and a really fun environment for a warm-ish fall weekend. I have no idea if this happens on all October Saturdays, but when my wife and I stopped by, there was an outdoor bar, food truck, and fresh oysters being shucked, along with the indoor bar where a three-piece band was playing. We had a lot of fun, and tried some delicious beers (a porter, a pumpkin, and a "cinnamon" cider which didn't taste all that much like cinnamon but was still a top notch cider). The crowd was huge and had a lot of bros floating around, and the service was a little off kilter, but that was balanced out by the significant number of cute doggos to pet. Definitely worth a stop, especially if you're tired of wineries. read more

It was Jay O's bday and we decided to head to the outlet and after some breweries. First stop was Jamesport Brewery. We wanted to try a few beers before making our selection so we ordered a flight. We found out there's a process here for flights which I have never encountered. You receive four wooden chips and must come back after you finished one 4oz glass to order your next one. Honestly, I found it a tad annoying luckily for us it was March and a Friday 5pm so it was not that crowded. I couldn't imagine enduring this on a great summer day with a packed brewery. This place would be immediately off my list during prime time. I spoke to the bartender who said it's to curb underage drinking. I thought that was great but note to owner it still won't curb it as once you take your glass no one monitors who drinks from it. Anyway back and forth constantly for beers and have to say we enjoyed all three we sampled. The milk stout and brown ale were my favorite! Jay O. Liked those too along with the dark porter. This place is really spacious so I'm curious what they do with the space during spring/summer. No food allowed which is understandable. Luckily they had some nachos and pretzels here which was a great snack especially the cheese! My partner and I stopped here for a couple beers, Nite Lite and Doc's Pumpkin. Nite Lite is a very refreshing lager and it worked like an antacid on the big lunch I had before getting there. Doc's Pumpkin is a very tasty cider and they offered to put some cinnamon sugar on the rim of the glass. They have a lot of other selections as well as a food truck on the premises. Additionally, they have a lot of tables and areas to sit. I recommend trying this place at least once...be prepared to pay a $5 entrance fee though. read more

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. My wife and I visited today Sunday sept 10th which was a dreary slow Sunday that turned to torrential down pouring rain. Upon driving in the parking lot a nice parking attendant pointed us where to park; then we proceeded to walk towards the brewery which we were surprised to see security whom asked for a $5 cover per person which perplexed us. He said it was because of the live band whom was playing outdoors at least 50 yards away from the indoor brewery which we originally planned to stop by for only one drink. We had visited numerous other wineries and breweries all of which had live music and had no cover charge. I guess jamesport farm Brewery can't get a big enough crowd to entice bands to play there or they're hurting for money. So we had told them if that's the case we would grab a 4 pack of pumpkin to go then. So we got inside at 1:55 pm and by 1:57 pm it began torrential raining to the point where all the staff came running inside because they were absolutely drenched to the point they had to remove their shirts and put on new. So I had told the bar tender that we were only going to grab a 4pack to go since we didn't pay the cover but we can't possibly make it back to our car now because of the hazardous conditions outside, that we would first grab a drink while we wait the storm out and then grab the beer to go; which she agreed was the smart decision. So we ordered 1 pumpkin and 1 rose both of which were subpar at best. We were about halfway done with our drinks and by 2:20 pm ( 23 minutes) later asked to leave because we had not paid the "cover charge" for the band that was 50 yards away from us and we were not listening to. Security whom himself didn't want to make the trek outside in the torrential rain was very unprofessional and walked us out as if we snuck into the Taylor Swift eras tour concert and evaded a $1000 concert ticket. Bottom line don't come here unless you want to have bad beer and treated poorly by the staff. Head down the road to greenport brewery in peconic or anywhere else for that matter. After looking at other reviews on here it's clear this establishment is not what it has to be. read more

I had this place bookmarked for a while, a ROTD as well as a News12 segment had me interested. It's raining on Sunday and I assumed it would be empty. No such luck, there was busload of folks dressed up in halloween costumes. Walking up to the brewery, the parking lot is dirt. With the rain, there are lots of puddle to dodge. Once you get on clean pavement, its manicured landscaping and space geared towards drinking. I haven't had a pumpkin beer all season, I ordered a pumpkin beer and a growler of hard cider. We start looking around, inside has all these large vats for developing their different beers. It's a pretty large space for drinking a few cold ones with your friends. I zeroed in on the pumpkin beer. I start BS'ing with the bartender and he's telling me about how Jamesport Farm Brewery grows their own hops. Some of the beers sound outrageous, Milk Stout, Octoberfest as well as double IPAs. This place was a potato farm back in the day. I mean, potatoes can power a clock, you can make a potato gun and I love potato chips. Growing hops and making crazy beers? It's what our forefathers would have wanted. Great out of the way spot that you need to find. Try something different and support a local, Long Island brewery. read more

There is a tented beer garden, plenty of distanced tables, dog and kid friendly. The beer selection was great. We were impressed with a summer ale and an IPA. Pours were fresh and had great taste. They have a few food options but apparently food trucks park there from time to time. A few areas with were for reservation only but looks quaint for a group. Will definitely be back. read more

Awesome brewery! We came for a friend's 30th birthday (party bus and all), and had such a good time. We actually had some other breweries scheduled for after this stop, and were having so much fun that we cancelled the rest to stay! Jamesport has a wide variety of beer and cider, so there is something for everyone. They have witty t-shirts, food trucks, live music, you name it! I can't say enough good things about our experience here. I wanted to try their pumpkin beer and it was really good (they warn you not to get the sugar rim because of the bees and you can see what happens to the people who ignore that warning). We brought our dog with as and he got the celebrity treatment- a big bowl of cold water, lots of belly rubs, very friendly staff! There's a lot of outdoor seating, high top, picnic table, benches, shade and sun. There's a huge beer garden tent but no dogs allowed in there. Masked staff wiping down tables in between. They had a food truck on a Friday afternoon and rather than waiting on line they gave out pagers like a restaurant. We picked up our food and we were even given cheese for the dog. We had intended to stay about an hour and ended up there for three because we were having such a nice time. read more

I have been going to Jamestown Brewery for 3 years in a Row. 3 years ago....it was a Great Fun , good music,  and a great Place for your pets ( Dogs ) to also Enjoy the grounds. Now,,, it is So Sad to see how different things are. The band is all the way in the farthest tent , where only the food truck and the people playing Cornhole can hear then music.  Regular People with dogs like me are located outside the 2 tents where you can barely hear the music. People that pay extra for a private Tent are Fools to pay to be so far Removed from the entertainment.  I noticed how many Less people have attended the Brewery than other years. Years ago there was not a parking spot to be found. Yesterday 8/5/2023 you could park in the front row at the entrance way... So Sad..... I predict that the Once Great Place to enjoy Great Beer,Good Music and fantastic People and Pets.. will not have these events any longer.. I saw a lot of negative reviews for this place and almost kept me away, went out to see "The Almost Brothers Band" on a Sunday Afternoon with a buddy of mine who was interested in seeing them as well. Great band. Overall the vibe was very chill except for this quartet of rude bald cigar chomping' douche bags going around blowing stinky cigar smoke in every direction. My husband and I came here last Saturday and I knew it would be crowded given the time of year it is. I had no issue with that. The layout is pretty nice although I wish there had been more shade by the long tables in the open area because it was pretty hot. Not the end of the world. The pourer we had wasn't the friendliest. Just took our order. No hello. No smile. No conversation. Nothing. The only thing he told us was bees like the sugar when I told him I'd like sugar on the rim of my pumpkin beer. He was completely flat. The crowd was your typical pretentious people from the city. Loafers. White collared shirts. Short khaki shorts. Saying "like and omg" every 5 seconds. Not the breweries fault for attracting this kind of crowd but it was definitely a buzz kill. Especially after receiving mediocre service. We ordered food from the food truck. Greasy as hell but again, not the brewery's fault as the truck isn't theirs. I don't know. Something is off here. It's not welcoming or friendly. Super pretentious. I can think of so many other breweries I felt much more comfortable at. Will we go back and try it again? Maybe. But it would definitely have to be on the off season. read more
