We live in California and our wedding was in Washington. Trying to find a photographer out of state was really stressful, until we found Jamie. From start to finish, she was always available, communication was easy, and she took the time to answer all of my questions. She was even able to provide suggestions, being out of state, on times and locations for photo shoots. She was so down to earth and easy to speak with and in person, she was exactly the same way- just very easy going and really positive. We had a very small, intimate wedding (and really it was more of an elopement), and she captured really beautiful scenes and intimate moments. We did two sessions with her. My wife and I hired Jamie to shoot our wedding in May 2017. We couldn't have been happier with the results. First of all, we held the ceremony and reception in a brewery that was atrociously lit and had terrible back-lighting where we were standing. So we definitely didn't make it easy on her. But she managed to get more lovely shots than we know what to do with. But where I personally got the most out of her photography was from the reception. Her ability to get beautifully candid shots of my wife and I as well as our family and friends was unmatched. Anyone can line people up and tell them to smile. Finding a perfect moment and documenting it without people even knowing they're being photographed is a rare gift. Jamie has it. There are plenty of pictures of people posing and smiling for the camera, yes. But there are so many sweet little moments that happened that I would have entirely missed had Jamie not been all over it. Going through the pictures she gave us with my wife was so fun because we kept gasping at the realness of the moments she captured. And that's what matters most to me. My mom is way more into standard portrait-style photographs and she loved those results from Jamie as well. My point being, she can do it all. So while I'm certainly grateful for the lined up pictures of our families and wedding party, I'm tremendously grateful for the picture of one of our guests holding a fake severed arm from our photo booth prop table as he tells my wife how lovely she looks, or the one of a two year old toasting us with his sippy cup held high in the air, or the one of a ten year old girl covering her ears and grimacing as I sang a song to my wife. To me, those are the moments that make life. And those are the moments I get to treasure forever because Jamie recognized them as gems and did an excellent job capturing them.
