Booked a private lesson for my photo-curious daughter with Jamie, and she was fantastic. Like most teens today, my daughter has only really used her iPhone to take photos, but got very interested in real cameras after a fashion internship. Jamie arrived with her Canon DSLR and a full complement of lenses, and proceeded to show my daughter the difference between the lenses, what you achieve by using them, and how to operate a real camera that has a world of settings and possibilities. Jamie was friendly, gregarious, open and welcoming, and she held my daughter's attention for the full 2 hours of the lesson. Her website says she also holds group lessons, and I have to imagine those would be great as well. I didn't use Jamie's services as a photographer, so I can't really speak to her work as such, but based on our experience with her, Jamie will be my first call when I do need a photographer -- I have to imagine she handles a crowd well, and maneuvers adeptly through an event... hearing what she said to my daughter about what to shoot, when and how, I trust her instincts and I'm certain her work will be superior. read more

I have known Jamie and her work for many years and not only can I say that her photography is stunning, but she is very personable, professional and she cares deeply about her work. I'm always interested to watch her ease of ability to fit into a variety of situations. I hired Jamie to shoot my brother's wedding in St. Louis. She is the ultimate professional in every aspect. My husband and I were married August 19th 2012 and we couldn't be happier with our wedding photos! We searched and searched online for the best photographer around and we honestly found her in Jamie Rector. I was mentioning it at work and a friend/co-worker mentioned Jamie Rector to us. She said she was really great and may be willing to work with us. Jamie got back to us quickly and was so patient with all of my questions. The first time we met her in person we knew that she was the right lady for the job! She also shot our engagement photos, which turned out absolutely beautiful!! We just used her for a photo shoot at our house - studio style. We have 6 adults and 7 kids total and we tried to do the shoot at a studio before and it turned out kids get antsy waiting. Having it done at our house was better. Kids can play in the house while taking turns to take pictures. This is the 2nd time we have used her. read more
