We also wanted the digital images for our own keepsakes. We left highly satisfied with both. First, Anne came to us through a trusted source - another notable, in-demand photog whom we've relied on in the past for child photography (and who is a writer on the topic for Nikon). Anne was top of her list for Pittsburgh. She lived up to the hype. Booking was easy and mostly automated through the website. She called us to confirm, I emailed her from the delivery room, and she set us up for our daugher's 12th day at a time that worked for us. We didn't just get the kind of soft, airy, elegant photos that you can see over and over and over again in her brilliant portfolio. We got the care, attention, efficiency, and experience that comes from a seasoned professional who works with kids and exhausted parents of newborns every single day. All we had to do was brush our hair and show up and Anne made everything else absolutely effortless for our family of four, including a 1 year-old. We got there, the studio was warmed and ready to go. Everything we needed from lighting to set pieces was just so - in optimal place to take advantage of those precious minutes when both baby and toddler are in portrait mode. She wasted no time getting photos in that golden hour of sleepy baby and manageable older brother. Costume and setting changes were gentle and practiced yet rapid and fluid. The baby never batted an eye or exhibited a moment of discomfort. Our 1 year old really liked her. The result? Not just great newborn photos with a variety of attractive palettes and background options, but also a new family portrait and even a skillfully assembled brother/sister spot featuring the toddler. Other retouching was careful and close - notably removing blemishes and an awkward position. I'll never look so good again. The real kicker here was the amazing turnaround time for all this work. Even with the detailed editing work, we got the photos back in *hours* (8, in fact). (Of course, this drastically beat the promise time, so don't expect it, but wow!). This incredibly rapid turnaround meant that even though our shoot was on a Friday, we were able to order the announcement cards over the weekend and I dropped all of them in the mail to their recipients the following Tuesday. It was 4 days from camera to mailbox. Anne didn't need to be told that we felt the urgency to get these out, she just knew and took care of us in amazing fashion. The package we got from Anne was a great value. For the "Special Delivery" package price, it's a bargain for the top photog for this speciality in the region. We got a large quantity of announcement cards so she also cut us a deal on those. The cards came out just how we'd hoped, with great genuine colors on hearty cardstock. The digital images have an automatic import into Google Photos, which is all we wanted. Highly recommend Anne for your newborn photos, and also recommend booking well in advance. I would take pictures of my cats with my phone all the time, but I really wanted a professional to take some pictures and just capture the essence of how cute and meaningful they are to me. Unlike phone pictures, they have a great background, are not blurry, and the pictures capture the entire kittens' bodies. Lisa was so gentle and approachable with the kittens and they took to liking her and playing with her right away.
