Louis R loves authentic bars in Vikingdom, Sweden…read more There aren't any bars in Stockholm more authentic than this spot. Lots of local Swedish beers and delicious food options to select from at this bar. You can also sit and people-watch outside when it's warm. Good location, away from all those tourists in Old Town. Chill and fun. Aye. Be like Louis R, be a viking when in Sweden.

It really is an experience and being immersed in a culture and style is fun. Seating is limited so be sure to make reservations. Not a big fan of seating family style (with other families) and it is extremely warm inside. You may be put on the spot so if you are shy or introverted this may not be the experience for you. But otherwise, its definitely worth the fun. FOOD: Good but not great. Not a whole lot of variety. Various meats all cooked just right are available. Few side dishes and all root vegetables. We shared the Rurik's Feast so we would get a variety of meats and it was good. I really liked all three meats and it was worth it for the cost. I do wish there were different root veggies like potatoes. I don't know much Viking history so not sure how authentic, but they did have a nice variety of options. They did have risotto for the vegetarians (sure that wasn't part of the Viking staple!). SERVICE: Loved the music. Loved the atmosphere (except for the heat). Loved how friendly and nice everyone was. Service and plating were A+. COST: It was definitely worth it for the volume of food and the experience. Like I said, probably wouldn't come back, but definitely recommended for anyone who wants a fun and memorable night. Definitely worth doing once.

Tudor Arms is the oldest English pub in Stockholm (and perhaps in Sweden). In a sense it feels like…read morestepping into a pub in England but it would probably be more accurate to say that it feels like stepping into a pub England the way they used to be. Nowadays many pubs in England have gone downhill and lack charm. Tudor Arms definitely have charm and the food is pretty decent as well. I actually prefer the food that they have for lunch, in the evenings the menu is ok but I do expect better for dinner and I often feel that the lunch is better here. The selection of beer is actually a bit disappointing since nowadays so many bars and pubs have better selections. It is however still possible to find something to my liking and the atmosphere is great.

Sweden does not really have the same 'pub'…read moreculture that we have in the UK but the Tudor arms (the oldest British pub in Stockholm/Sweden, and voted one of the best outside of the UK) has taken all the best bits and make a classic pub with an honest feeling. The Tudor Arms is very popular when there is sports on (especially the English teams) and it packed with a mix of Swedes, English and people from all over the world. The do serve food (although I have not tried it yet) and bar snacks (crisps, chill nuts) and a mix of Swedish and imported beers. The interior is just like a British pub, lows of wood, low ceiling and a good ambience. A great for tourists, expats and locals looking for somewhere to drink with real character.
