    Pork ribs

The food was awesome, service delightful and the ambiance truly special. Morris, our host/server, made us feel very welcome and his recommendations were spot on. My husband had the pork ribs, which came in a large bowl with a flavorful broth and dumplings--he said they were delicious. I hade the lamb loin with spring vegetables, perfectly cooked and accompanied by a rich dark gravy. This was a perfect place for our last dinner in Stockholm.

MUST DO! The theme for my Swedish vacation was "Vikings & Water"... my local host found two restaurants/bars for us to visit in Old Town Stockholm... this was our first stop... We arrived about the time it opened... drank a couple of beers while enjoying the dark cave... explored the venue, took pics and talked about coming back in future. We never got back, but I defiantly would go back to try dinner... Make sure this is on your list of MUST DO!

I was pleased to come across this dungeon-looking, Vikings-inspired place with an entry to the tables leading downstairs and tall, classic candles lit up on each table adding the romantic theme. I ordered a low-alcoholic content cider and enjoyed a night with my family here. I'd recommend this place to others.

Interesting place. Love the decor, very middle aged feel to it. Maybe a bit over done, but good beer = great place. It you need a place too stop for a beer, this is definitely a place you should consider. They got different Omnipollo beers, and a couple of good whiskeys.

Cool place! Got referred here by a friend who lives in Stockholm. It's pretty hard to find--you have to go inside a bar and walk straight to the back and down the stairs before you're there. It has a cozy underground vibe. You feel like you're eating in a secret cave hideout in the middle ages. We got the Farmer's meal to share, which is supposed to serve 2 people. Judging by the portions, I'd say it should have been 4+ people. We felt so guilty leaving all that food behind, but we had to catch a flight in the morning and wouldn't have any time to eat leftovers. We had cups of mead, which was nice and sweet. I'm not really a beer drinker but this was okay. The bread came with a really good dip/spread. We couldn't put our finger on exactly what it was made of. We started with a leek soup which was really good. The ribs were unfortunately VERY dry--almost inedible, although they looked perfect from the outside. It came with whole baked apples which was really cool. The moose stew was alright--tastes like beef stew, but a little.. grainy-er? It also came with parsnips and mushy peas, which were both tasty, but we were just so full. The dessert was nice. It was a goat cheese cheesecake with walnuts.

    Really cool bar area.

I didn't eat here so if you want to know about the food, stop reading. Ok, got that over with. Cool place to go have a drink, you go down to the stairs and its like you are in some type of medieval cave. Staff was really nice, there were a lot of drink options, and there was what looked to be a club or something jamming some old(I dont know what else to call it) music in one of the rooms. Curiosity forced me down the stairs, and I am glad I gave in.

Great hole in the wall joint. Landed on this place from yelp. Went downstairs and waited a few minutes to get a table when it was Half empty, which was strange but once they sat us, we had an awesome table, great views and the service was good. Loved the decor and medieval decor. There was a show a random flame throwing show and the serve gave us our bill with a knife thrown into the receipt. Fun times and very unexpected.

Recommended by a friend for their traditional Swedish food. Tried a salmon dish, fried minced elk and baked apple for dessert. The waiter was really nice and gave good suggestions. Sadly, the night we were there they ran out of some of the beers we wanted to try. Instead we tried the Mango Mango Mango, a sour beer, which was really special and did have a hint of mango. Halfway through our meal someone approached us and asked for cigarettes but the waiter asked him to leave quickly. A highlight of this place is the decor and interesting silverware. We made a reservation in advance, and I would highly recommend because most of the tables had a reservation card on it.

Fun place to enjoy a medieval style feast, with home-brewed mead. Food is delicious, lovingly prepared, and served in an old medieval-era basement (with surprisingly good cell-phone reception).

A month ago we visited Stockholm and went to this restaurant. I loved the unique atmosphere and the warm service. The foods were great. We tried their special akevitt, hmmmm they were really nice. Highly recommend place if you wanna try something different. 5* from me

Just amazing! Some of us were skeptical about whether we would like the traditional food, but we left with the convinction that this was one of the best meals we've had in Stockholm! We took the Sjätte Tunnans Honungsglaserade Revben (for two people) and we didn't regret it. The waiters/barmen were extremely nice and welcoming, gladly suggesting what would be best to drink with our meal. The place was full, but still agreable and with quite a lot of locals. Either way, we felt welcomed and this place would honestly be one of the reasons I'd want to come back to Stockholm. Thank you for the hospitality!

Great food and service. However you should be prepared for a language barrier. All in all a great experience.

Got the usual, the herring with mashed potatoes, three sides, and a piece of rye crisp. We had the pickled cucumber, lingonberries and cremefreche salad. Nice serving but I wanted more. IT IS SO GOOD. But we are here for a month so I WILL be back. I meant to take pictures of the food but I was too anxious to eat. Friendly service as always. Nicely packed to go. We have been coming here for years and I highly recommend.

It's pretty much a one person show from what I could see. The owner attended to me efficiently and without the slightest hesitation. I'm sorry to say that I don't speak Swedish (I wish I did I can tell you) but he was able to communicate with me and for that I will always be grateful. My plate had, if I recall correctly, four breaded and fried herring fillets. It had a coleslaw (which I found a surprising addition, creamy mashed potatoes, pickled cucumbers, red onions, and a little wedge of crispbread. I loved every bite. It was a generous plate. I particularly enjoyed eating a combination of the potatoes, cuke, onion, and fish on a corner of the crispbread as I munched away. There are a few nearby picnic type tables. So there was a place I could sit and enjoy this meal overlooking the water and a corner of the old town. If you find yourself in Stockholm, do yourself a favor and go to here. Even if you think you don't like herring, try it this way. I bet you'd be surprised.
