Story to follow. I just recently upgraded my own PC. I wanted to build my friend a PC utilizing my old GPU and so I bought all the other components myself (CPU, Mobo, RAM, SSD). I brought all the parts to Mercury to put together for me, mostly because I'm lazy and also because I feel like I do an awful aesthetic job when it comes to cable management. He sold me on the two parts I was missing, both the PC case and the PSU. I was fine with that. He charged me three or four hours of his time and I was also fine with that. Until the PC was put to use. My friend had all sorts of issues with it in practice. It kept crashing when playing games, variably, within two hours. We troubleshooted it remotely since I'm a computer guy. Eventually, I had to take things into my own hands and received the PC to troubleshoot myself. After 3.5 days of troubleshooting, running stress tests, analyzing crash dump and log files, I find the issue. See the pictures, attached. My findings: The GPU driver was never installed, but instead the default Windows Update driver was installed. None of the BIOS drivers had been installed. This meant that plugging speakers in for sound didn't work either, among other things. I notice some strange readings while gaming on the 12V rails coming out of the PSU going to the GPU, dipping down under 11.4V at times. One of the only components that I didn't supply. The reason for all the crashes? After doing a LOT of software troubleshooting, I decided to open up the case to take a look at the guts. There are two PCIe power ports to the GPU. Mercury Computers plugged both of them in on the same power rail. I was furious.

In short, They run like a small business that cares about its customers. Our last two purchases had defects from the manufacturers. ! item was a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator where the water dispenser stopped functioning after one year. Shore TV got the manufacturer to replace the item with a new one and even threw in the $70 water filter replacement. The unit had been incorrectly insulated and evidently the water line was frozen by Fisher & Paykel running it too close to the freezer. The second item was a GE induction range. The unit was DOA on arrival as the oven kept shitting off. It was going to be several weeks to get a replacement and Shore TV had already removed our old stove. We would have been out of luck but Shore TV offered (and we took them up on it ) to provide a temporary replacement stove (electric and basic) until the part for the GE came it. While I skeptical that replacing a part on a new stove was not a great idea (I wanted a brand new one), Shore assured me the item would be correct when they got the part. It was . They were extremely accommodating by getting us a stove to use until the replacement part came in (3 weeks) . I am only concerned now because they have combined with a company called Hallocks and their Yelp rating is poor at best.

There was no floor model to inspect, and she trusted the store's description and history. When the grill arrived, it had only stainless trim, no wheels, and was clearly not the heavy-duty model she expected. She declined delivery politely and even offered to pay the price difference or use gift cards to upgrade to the better model. They refused. Instead of working with her, they issued a refund--and then left her a voicemail telling her never to shop there again. Their own voicemail admitted it was a "snafu" and they "don't normally sell natural gas grills," but punished her for not accepting a downgrade. This wasn't about being difficult. It was about being fair. After over 7 years of loyalty, this was their response. If this is how they treat long-time customers, I encourage others to think twice before shopping here.
