Hate to leave a bad review called twice and took my car in for estimate, Tony did try help but no luck, they said fiber optic line had a break in it and needed all new wiring or new system! I own a 1999 Civic and have wanted to upgrade my speakers and DIN unit for years. The staff was very friendly and informative as they walked my through different upgrades. My old car now has Bluetooth, HD radio, and a sound system that they balanced in the DIN unit settings based off speaker size and location. When I brought my clarion NZ500 stereo into Best Buy and asked them to place it in my 1993 Honda Civic Del Sol, the installer took one look at it and told me that it couldn't be done. Based on the way the unit functions, single DIN with a retractable screen, the stereo would be too far set back in the dash to allow the nav screen to be in an upright position for use. When I considered returning the unit, my wife's coworker informed me that the staff at Soundcraft Car Stereo have a knack for making impossible stereo installations possible. This was no easy task; The stereo had to stick far enough out of the dash so that the 7" nav screen operation would not be hindered by the dash itself. We also had to make sure that it didn't stick out too far, for the nav screen operation might be hindered by the stick shift. Co-owner Tony Frankopoulos quoted me what I felt was an extremely reasonable price given the task ahead of them, and we scheduled an appointment to have the radio put in. They finished in a little under an hour and a half, and when all was said and done, they made the system look fantastic! You cannot see any of the metal casing behind the front face plate. My unit was missing the USB extension cable and Tony provided one for me. Despite my insistence that I pay for it, he refused to accept the money for it. My gratitude and my satisfaction as a customer were sufficient for him. Soundcraft Car Stereo is owned and staffed by individuals who are expert installers thoroughly committed to customer satisfaction. in fact, calling them "installers" is nearly an insult. The guy at Best Buy was a mere installer. Tony and crew at Soundcraft are ARTISTS. They engineer solutions to automotive stereo problems and the result is a beautifully designed and installed stereo system. I submit that anyone in Connecticut looking for a radio installed in their vehicle, whether it be an easy job or a difficult one, would be remiss to look anywhere else. I got some footwell led lights installed over 4 years ago (which I love) I came in recently because the light wasn't working. Turns out there is a water leak under my drivers seat in my car that I never noticed that caused the light to short out. Not only did soundcraft fix the light, they pointed out the much bigger underlying problem that could have caused extensive damage in the long run. Over the years, I've hired many people to do various things. New roofs, bathrooms, venting systems, landscaping, engine work on my car. You name it... anybody can do a "good" job under perfect circumstances. Mostly, I've found that circumstances are imperfect. The hardest part of screening someone always is determining the nature of their character. Is this person going to take advantage and screw me if there is anything that needs to be tweaked? Buddy of mine came in a couple hours before they closed with a problem with a 12in sub we installed. They found the problem right away and had it up and running perfectly within the hour. Then just as everything was all good and we were pulling out of the garage the axel to the differential on his front driver side came loose and lost all function. They kindly let us keep it in their garage until we were able to get it towed to the shop down the road 30 minutes later. Very good guys and long owned business. so, two years ago, Tony and his crew installed a remote car starter in my vehicle, worked flawlessly for two years, then the other night, my cars parking lights came on by themselves, we could not figure out how to shut them off, until we tried the remote car starter, it worked, the car started and then when shut off, the light went off, but overnight, they came on again and my battery died. Dreading a trip to the dealership, I first tried contacting Tony at Sound Craft Stereo, I told him the issue and although he had never heard of this issue coming up before due to a remote starter, he insisted I bring the car to them first to rule out the possibility of it being related to anything they did. So I brought the car in, two days after Christmas, the store is very busy, appointments booked out to March, but Tony stopped what he was doing and immediately looked into my issue, they discovered some moisture had gotten into a relay switch for the starter, causing some corrosion and a short. The replaced the relay switch, moved it to a different location and taped the crap out of it so no more moisture could get inside. Then they refused to let me pay for it. These guys are the BEST! I would highly recommend them for all your car needs, stereo, speakers, lights, starters, cameras, alarms, pretty much anything you can think of to accessorize your ride! read more
