I never made appointments right before a big night out, or even before going to work, because I'd need to go hide while my face recovered. I thought facials needed to be that way and just accepted it. But guess what: Noooo they don't! I left Pamela's office looking way better than when I walked in. My skin was smooth, silky, even toned, and not greasy! The facial itself was totally zen. I drifted and floated. But it's the results that floored me. Afterward she gave me a little card that had handwritten the names of the products she had used and what her top three recommendations for me were. To counter other comments, they were highly professional and friendly. I was offered water afterward. Lev checked in with me on pressure and heat. It was a pleasant experience with no red flags. I get the feeling that some people on here are just plain xenophobic. They are a nice Russian couple and some people just have a discomfort with foreigners.

All I can say is that I arrived at Libby's door completely panicked and sleep deprived. She checks in the perfect amount without taking you out of your zen. All of her products left my skin feeling totally nourished and smelled amazing. I explained to Houda that I have dry, sensitive skin and am on tretinoin, which further sensitizes skin. Certain ingredients don't mix well with tretinoin and if you're doing a peel, micro needling, etc you have to stop tret use for several days leading up to treatment. During my facial, she applied a salicylic acid mask that immediately burned my skin, to the point that my eyes were watering and it was unbearable to leave on longer than about a minute or two. By the time I got home, my skin was bright red, like a bad sunburn. By 10/11, my skin was peeling off in chunks. I emailed Houda and she replied some dryness and tightness is normal. I am now 4 days out and my entire face is still peeling in large pieces. If I was there for peel, that'd be ok, but I just went for a facial and had no intention of getting a peel and it was never discussed. Houda's response to my concerns has felt a bit dismissive and told me this is a normal reaction. If that's the case, I wish the communication had been better- I had no idea she was going to use a product that'd cause my face to peel intensely for days on end. After looking into the product used, it is not intended to cause peeling. It seems like this product shouldn't have been used on sensitive skin or on a client using tretinoin. The manufacturer of the product advised me to see a doctor regarding this reaction. Based on other reviews I know Houda can do great work, unfortunately I don't think this is a good option for people with sensitive skin looking for a facial.

Houda, the proprietor, zapped them in a matter of a few minutes and they are now completely gone. Houda also does tattoo removal - for people who lacked the good judgement not to get dolphins and Garfield that Cat tatted to their ankles back in the 80's. The salon is gorgeous and she works Tuesday - Saturday: 10 am - 6:30 pm and her prices are lower than other salons that I'd checked out. If you want to get rid of some cherry moles or ridiculous tattoos (that your mother warned you not to get), give her a call.
