I got butched. I came in to get very little off. I told the lady cutting my hair that I wanted very little off, and had shown her photos of myself when my hair was at optimal length (including sides/angles). The lady seemed to not listen to my wants and she cut off all of my hair. While cutting, she kept telling me I had more hair now than I did in the pictures, which was an obvious lie (I had several inches more). It was almost as if she was apologizing. I came in with a simple need. I wanted very little off to keep my length, had actual photos of the length I liked (photos of myself, actually), but yet I got a very, very, very short cut (several inches off). I'm not pleased with the cut (neither was my GF), and we won't be returning. read more

I've been a loyal customer for years, even before Dao opened her shop on B Avenue, and now recently in their new spot on State Street. I have Asian hair (i.e. thick and bristle-like), so Dao as a Vietnamese barber knows how to cut it. She's fast and efficient, and local. And from what I've heard, economical. I'm just glad to have found a nearby place for reliable and affordable haircuts for my unruly hair. I've been going to TD Barber Shop for about 2 years now. For the price ($14 dollars), you really can't find a better haircut. I have very straight hair - unforgiving to cut as it will show every little mistake. Jenny does a great job every time. No stray hairs, perfect length, and great blending on the sides and back. She also does a great job handling my receding hairline (much to my appreciation!). In sum, I am very thankful to find such a great barbershop. Our family is so happy to have found this shop! The service is very personal, you can walk in without an appointment and know that you will be assisted quickly, and you will get an excellent haircut. In my adult years, I have used many different stylists. And guess what? The most affordable place in town does the best work! The gals are all good, but the owner Dao is my favorite. She is very skilled in doing women's hair! You may drive by and see kids and men in the chairs, but ladies on a budget, don't overlook this place. It pains me to give 3 stars. I am a woman with short hair, shaved on the sides. I have been looking for women barbers to support. Two women are the barbers here. I asked for a shave with a fade of just my sides (not to cut the longer top of my hair) - a straight up men's cut. Instead of charging me $18 - the men's cut price - they charged me the women's haircut fee - $22 (over 20% more). A man was in at the exact same time, got the exact same cut, if not harder because they cut all of his hair, and walked out paying $18. Feels pretty unequal to me. The cut was good, and is still one of the least expensive in town. It's not the price that gets me, it's the inequality of it. Went to The Fix (Lake Grove) last time and got a great cut for $25. Will choose them next just for treating me the same as all their other customers. read more
