My husband and I decided to check out Janet's Cafe for brunch. We were sat inside at a table. It wasn't as stuffy and hot as.last time but you can tell they did not have the best air conditioning. We both got coffee and ice water.my husband ordered a country omelet woth white toast and fruit. I ordered eggs benedict and fruit. Thw food came out pretty quick and our server was friendly. My husband liked his omelet and it had alot of flavor. My eggs benedict was good except it seemed to not have much flavor in the hollandaise sauce. We both didn't eat alot of our fruit because alot of it was not ripe, especially the cantaloupe was very hard. We would most likely come back again another time.

One of my favorite breakfast spots in Santee. I've been here multiple times and have always had a good experience. The staff is always friendly, the food is good, the portions are large, the prices are reasonable, and the vibe is chill and welcoming . I've ordered various items here, from their chilaquiles, biscuits and gravy, pancake/waffle combo, egg combos, to their pies and muffins. The food is always fresh and has good flavor. Their coffee is good, there are flavored creamers, and there is attentive staff to keep my cup full. The service is exceptional and very friendly. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are reasonable and there is plenty of free parking. Love this place and worth trying.

Ehh. This was NOT my favorite time coming here. I got the buffalo chicken wrap to go and when I opened it there was a huge pickle all over the wrap and I HATE pickles. The juice was all over the tortilla and I could only eat half of the wrap... I was really upset to be honest. I hate pickle juice so much and I had to cover the other half with ranch just to be able to eat it because I was so hungry. But the other half was just soaked in pickle juice. The chili... was not good. Tasted like bland pieces of beef in a bland tomato sauce. The fruit box was the only thing I was able to actually eat and enjoy. I'm pretty upset with how my food was. Will not be coming back probably...

Visit March 2026 Recommended by my brother-in-law who had picked me up at Fix Auto Santee (see that review if you need a body shop). Janet's has a small town diner vibe. Walk in, cheerfully greeted from across the counter, pointed to a table to sit. It was morning so breakfast menu. I zeroed in on Granola French Toast and made it a "combo" adding on bacon and eggs. The bacon and eggs tbh were nothing special but dang that Granola French Toast was so good. Thick slices of bread and the granola crust added to the texture. It was already sweet so I didn't need to add anything else like syrup. Got a cold brew which was good. Place was clean and at the time of visit not too busy. I enjoyed that they greeted a couple of elderly regulars by name. They have a display case loaded with muffins, pies, and pastries to choose from as well. A good stop in the area

Janet's wipes all competing local competition out of the water. The Trails, Jimmys, Brothers, Pattys, all of them are maybe 2 stars compared to this 5 star. The best parts are food quality and hospitality. It's hispanically owned and operated in Santee. This is a power move and they are successful on every level. I rate breakfast on all the tiny pieces. How is the quality of their sausage, the mushrooms, the avocado. These smaller items add to the big picture. All of them were perfect. The custom omelette I ordered had 3/5 of the items and the owner said he'd double up on the avocado and mushrooms. Yes please! The interior of the restaurant is smaller but quant. The bathroom, while the hallway looks rugged is nice. Nicer than the trails! We live in Del Cerro so this is a bit far for us but when we hit Santee (now referred to as Mission Valley 2) we will stop here for breakfast if we can. Highly recommend.

This morning went to breakfast with my wife and friends and the atmosphere was excellent. Food was wonderful and our waitress was amazing. Great environment will always recommend this little place.

The service at Janet's is always great. Came in for something small, but got a huge serving! The food is so comforting and comes out quickly. I was able to get seating outside which I love. I would recommend coming here because it's one of the good breakfast spot! They even have a couple seats outside in the front. Very cute!

We are bar sitters and found the "hook" open, so we took our seats. Luke was our bartender/server for the day. Luke provided excellent service. Super friendly dude. We hope that your knee is fixed Luke! A mimosa for Becky and a Modelo "NFL" for me to start. Bex ordered the Meat Lover's Skillet. Diced ham, bacon and sausage sauteed with bell peppers, onions, and home fries. Topped with scrambled eggs, Jack cheese and green onion. I chose a side of Biscuits and Gravy as I knew I would be sharing in the skillet. After about a 10-minute wait, our food was delivered. It was piping hot fresh out of the kitchen. Bex decided that she wanted a side of sourdough toast, Luke had it to us in less than two minutes, despite his bum knee. The skillet was a very large portion and easily fed us both with plenty to take home. Every component of the skilled was excellent. From the breakfast potatoes on the bottom to the gooey Jack cheese on top. The eggs were scrambled and seasoned well. The biscuits were super dense and really tasty. The gravy was thick and peppery. I did not need two biscuits. I only finished one. Only One biscuit with an additional ladle of gravy would have been perfect. It had been a while since our last visit to Broken Yolk. We were very impressed with the food and the service.

Inside the shop they allowed people to bring their own trading card collection to trade with each other. They had specialty drinks made specifically for the show, Pokemon themed. There's a good amount of seating inside and seems like a good place to hang out or study. They have different books and board games around the shop too. I tried two drinks when I came. I got the coconut matcha because it was one of the themed drinks but wasn't impressed with it. I probably should've known better than to order matcha at a coffee shop but I'm a sucker for coconut. For my second (redemption) drink I got the Samoa which was a mocha, coconut, and caramel latte. This one was delicious. It had a great coffee flavor with a nice smooth caramel companion. It wasn't overly sweet and not bitter at all. The baristas were all great too. My drinks came out quickly despite it being busy with the show. Definitely a great coffee shop to check out!

Becky and I are not well versed in the world of fancy coffee, so we typically rely on those we are with to provide recommendations. Saturday we were on our own. We wanted a late afternoon pick-me-up and Kaffee Meister is a very short distance from our house. I walked in and was warmly greeted by the pleasant young woman behind the counter (I did not catch her name). I asked for two caramel iced coffees. She very nicely and patiently explained to me the different options of my generic "iced coffees" term. Lattes, cold brews, espressos, etc. Her recommendation was Caramel Frappes, so that is what I ordered. One with whipped cream (for Becky) and mine without. As I waited, I looked around the room. It was really cool. Very homey, neighborhood cafe vibe. A few tables and a couch and comfy chairs along with some tables and chairs dotted the room. The room was really nicely decorated. I liked the spiral staircase shelving. They have some outdoor seating as well. In addition to coffees, they offer a food menu. Pastries, bagels, açaí bowls, sandwiches and the like. I drive by Kaffee Meister almost daily and often I will see that they have live music which is cool. I waited maybe three or four minutes for my name to be called, and I was handed my two frappes. I like a simple cup o' Joe. Black, no sugar, no sweeteners. At home I drink Kirkland brand ground coffee from a drip coffee maker. That said, I really enjoyed the Caramel Frappe. It was not too sweet and retained subtle coffee flavor. Becky very much enjoyed hers too. Neither of us had ever had a frappe before. We were surprised by the milkshake-like creamy texture. They provided the perfect pick-me up we were looking for. About 17 bucks after tip. We'd return for sure.

She knows her stuff-knows how to ask the right questions so that you get what you really want. For instance, I was on the fence about having biscuits and gravy but I asked if the gravy was really peppery. She offered to get me a small taste and although it was delicious, I've been a little under the weather so I decided I didn't want anything really heavy. Instead I ordered the 3 egg scramble with their smoked ham and added cheese-it was really good and a huge serving including their potatoes and English muffin. I'll probably be able to make two more meals from this serving! My husband ordered the eggs Benedict and asked which potatoes they would be able to make the most crispy as we both like our potatoes crispy. She suggested the hash browns and even asked if he wanted them crispy on both sides which was a great way to get them the way he wanted. Those kinds of gestures really make the difference when you're dining out. The eggs Benedict and the hash browns were delicious, btw. :) Camryn had a great personality too-very friendly, bright and quick. She did a great job of checking in on all of her tables. When we go back I hope we are lucky enough to have Camryn serve us again but all of the servers seemed very friendly as well. Great job, Izzy's and Camryn!
